Robin’s death hit me super mega hard. It’s one of those “I remember where I was when” moments. I was in my room & it came on my phone that he died & I ran outside to my parents, on the pool deck and said “you won’t believe it, Robin Williams died”. Very sad because he was my #1 bonified favourite comedian, actor & entertainer. I CAN NOT watch Patch Adams or Mrs. Doubtfire without learning something new every time.

I have followed most of the comics on this list from the time that I was in kindergarden during the early 80s and they were all super awesome for sure. I remember John Ritter in the IT mini series and how well he was in that along with being a sadistic uncle who was a police cheif in the 4th Chucky film, The Bride of Chucky and seeing both John Ritter and Gilbert Gottfried in the 2nd Problem Child film in 1992. However, Robin Williams will always be my favorite for both drama and comedy and it is too bad that no one knew what he truly had until after his death 8yrs ago. And, Robin Harris and George Carlin should both be on this list for sure.

I’d put George Carlin on the list. The guy was 72, but he could have lived to 100 and it wouldn’t have been long enough. Like Bill Hicks and Lenny Bruce, he just told the truth. He didn’t BS his audience just to get a laugh. And half of their material would be banned today.

God knew when enough had happened to Robin Williams, and I’d have many memories of Robin. It’s too bad you didn’t enjoy enough of what he did to entertain anybody before he died. It’s not that I don’t care what people say when they say they want a dead person back. I understand why those people say that, but it wouldn’t be any use bringing anyone back from the dead because what more would be worth happening to them regarding safety?

Miss everyone on this list. John Candy’s death was the first celebrity death that really got to me. He was such an important part of my childhood.

Heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says: "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says, "But doctor…I am Pagliacci." Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.

Yes! I was so shocked when my mom texted me that Gilbert Gottfried had died. That was just a week after the death of Estelle Harris who I remember as Muriel, the maid at the Tipton hotel on “The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody”. Hard to believe it’s been a few months since they both passed on already. Both of them definitely had very unique voices, very high-pitched and nasally.

Wha-?? Estelle's died?? Holy crap, she was brilliant on that show, and she'll be greatly missed!

Every comic on this list is GREATLY missed by all. They all kept us all just a little happier when we were down in the pits, literally in the shits or trying to find some amount of joy from the everyday thing that is life. I also believe that if they were alive today that they'd get us back to a semblance of common sense in a world that is now divided and at each other's throats almost everyday for the most mundane of things. I personally went to Robin Williams for my joy and to reignite the "spark" in my life. Much like everyone else, i miss him and the others dearly. We're all trying to find the smile and joy in a world were it's looking to destroy itself from within

One of my favorites was John Pinette. He had good clean humor, but there was more he could do. I think I went to one of his last performances before he passed.

So MANY of my favorite comedians are on this list. Literally, almost every single person (except maybe 2 people) on this list I grew up watching and laughing with/at during my childhood/teenage years. To this day I still miss Sam Kinison, Norm MacDonald, John Belushi, Chris Farley, Gilbert Godfried, and Robin Williams the most. I don't find many of 'today's comedians' very funny. Not like how it was with these amazing talented comedians.

You forgot to mention also these great comedians: Carol Lombard who died in a plane crash in 1942, and was only 33 years old; Roscoe Fatty Arbuckle who was 43 years old when he died in 1933; Uncle Arthur on Bewitched, Paul Lynde, in 1982. He was 55. Finally but not least, the great and unforgetable, Peter Sellers, who passed in 1980 at the age of 54. Who can forget Chief Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther series?

Two absolutely CRIMINAL omissions: 1) Greg Giraldo Even worse 2) Richard Jeni I loved both of them so much. Patrice O'neal who is also one of my all-time faves and Giraldo died relatively close together. Man that was depressing. Richard Jeni was simply amazing.

I will never understand how we as a society agreed to not use “Die“ or “Died“ .. “Murdered“ “Killed“ we have to say “Expired“ or “Gone away “ .. cmon people .. we die .. because we don’t say it it’s not “going away” .. Death is around any corner .. that’s what makes life worth living .. that we can go and we should try to be happy now .. it’s crazy we can’t say “ DIE “ anymore 🤦🏻‍♂️ it’s embarrassing

I find it odd that a list whose whole point centered on how young these people were nevertheless gave almost none of their ages. So, I have them here: 1. Chris Farley (33) 2. Robin Williams (63) 3. John Candy (43) 4. Phil Hartman (49) 5. Gilda Radner (42) 6. Norm MacDonald (61) 7. Bernie Mac (50) 8. Bob Saget (65) 9. Gilbert Gottfried (67) 10. Andy Kaufman (35) 11. Bill Hicks (32) 12. Mitch Hedberg (37) 13. Sam Kinison (38) 14. Freddie Prinze (22) 15. John Belushi (33) 16. Lenny Bruce (40) 17. Ralphie May (45) 18. Madeline Kahn (57) 19. Patrice O'Neal (41) 20. John Ritter (54) I would also add that this list would definitely have been improved with the inclusion of Monty Python great Graham Chapman, who died of throat cancer at age 48.
