It's funny - I also tell my students not to use the word 'sleep' when they talk about their free time, holiday, etc. I write the word on the board and cross it out saying "Don't use it. I'm sure your life is more intersting than that." They laugh. Thank you for your great tips, Eric. Greetings from Poland!🙂

You know, i can share what I did on Valentines Day. First, my students are from different countries, so I elicited how this holiday is celebrated in their countries, how they celebrate, and we watched a video about Valentine traditions around the world. Ss discussed a few related questions in groups. Then I gave each student a heart-shaped paper and asked everyone to write a kindness note. So, students were to think of a person they like, love, respect, appreciate, anybody in the classroom or a teacher or a family member or a friend, etc. They wrote a few sentences with basically best wishes. Then they put all theirvhesrts on the whitenoard and read each others note. Some notes were about general peace and stopping the war, you know. But they all were very moving and original and, therefore, special. Hearts are easy to Google and cut out and you just hand them out after instruction and instruction checking. We definitely enjoyed the activity.

Alllllll of your advices were very effective and useful thanks thanks alot. If you could please explain about if one of our students got injured how should we talk and communicate with their family if they came and got angry. thanks again
