I have another fact! In Splatoon 1, when you go to type in a room password, if you hover over the numbers in a specific order, they play notes, and you can play Calamari Inkantation on them
I was expecting to hear a bunch of obvious facts that I already knew, but nope! Most of these were actually really cool. Keep up the good work, Joyconic
did you know that when your inkling/octoling gets in contact with enemy ink, it hurts pretty bad? its said to feel like a small burn, and with heavier weapons, it hurts much more !
Did you know that the main languages that the Inklings and Octolings speak are Hirigana and Katakana gibberish within real world terms? The canonical languages _are_ called Inkling and Octarian, but Inkling is Hiragana gibberish and Octoling is Katakana gibberish. The only time that we've seen when this is not the case is between when Shiver and Frye sing. Shiver sings using Hiragana gibberish while Frye sings using Katakana gibberish. I can't remember canonically how or why they sing in the opposite languages, but I remember hearing that, that's how it is from a friend.
Oh wow I didn’t know that! Thats actually super cool :) Thank you for sharing this! Does that mean we could translate from Katakana/Hiragana to English? 👀
@@Joyconic It's been confirmed by Nintendo that the writing _is_ in Hiragana and Katakana, but that it's just gibberish of the two languages, so nothing can be translated. But the Hiragana and Katakana lyrics are what the voice actors for the idols use to sing their songs. The Japanese lyrics can be found in the Splatune albums in the CD booklets. People have romanized the lyrics into English, so people who can't read Japanese can also use them to sing along to Splatoon songs. People have posted the Japanese and Romanized lyrics on Inkipedia
There was even a point in Splatoon 1's development, where the inklings were Mario characters. There is Japanese only exclusive gear. There are these weird sounds you can hear after beating bosses in splatoon 2, no one knows what they are. Inklings and Octolings have different animations, for example when zipping through shops. In game, you can hear that Octolings got more fluent in splatoon 3 compared to 2. (This way and booyah button). In splatoon 1, a octoling kraken was data mined. Now it's real in splatoon 3. The jukebox in the splatoon 3 lobby was first hidden under the floor until it was added properly. According to the sunken scrolls, Little buddy is always hungry because they've been seperated from their pack. (Splatoon 3). Charger shots go through your teammates. Splatlings shots don't. Do not stand in front of Splatlings.
The gold and silver capsules used to not be random and was actually a seed, meaning you could go to this site to see how much you'll have to pull to get a gold or silver. Idk if its still like that or not, but yeah...
Erm actually when Splatoon 1 launched there were zero ranked modes. Ranked was introduced after enough players reached level which happened like 3 days after the game released ☝️🤓
