I have done a similar load but using 9 #4 buck and .575 ball. I have tried both buck on top and buck on bottom. Buck on bottom has worked better for me as well. Fewer flyers at 15 yards.
Buck & ball is awesome..! My bear defense recipe is: 1 - 71 cal round ball on top of 8 - 31 cal buckshot stacked by 4, in a 2 3/4 12ga hull traditionally prepared with mylar, gas seal, cork, & buffer. Add a bingo chip & roll crimp using 2oz data. Thanks for the video...
I did a video about that last week actually. 16 gauge at the time was a dollar or two more expensive than 12 or 20 gauge and we were shooting a lot of 16 gauge back then, and I realized you could reload 16 gauge far cheaper than buying it. That’s even more true now.
Nice one, ya for sure be neat to see you pattern those. Iv done a few 10g ones in 3.5 in shells, as much black powder as can fit a nitro card, cushion wad, 3 38 cal buck, torn up cushion wad inbetween I think it was a 0.76 cal round ball shot through cylinder bore. Not saying there really great, compared to your stuff but make a big bang and shoot old tv's and stuff good haha. Haven't tried smokeless yet, afraid to mess up and blow up my favourite boom stick
