20 Interesting Things in Irodori Festival "Hues of the Violet Garden" (Genshin Impact) 

After the 3.3 archon quest, it is confirmed that Katsuragi and Niwa are two separate people. Nevertheless, Niwa is still confirmed to be related to the Kaedehara Clan in blood making him a relative of Kazuha.

Has anyone noticed that most of Scaramouche's story is present in temporary events? First the stars are fake event and now this one, I wonder why. The only time we see him in the main story is during Inazuma's main quest

There are some interesting facts about Alice(Klee's mom). In Teyvat Travel Guide vol.3, Alice may have met with Hibiki, the shrine maiden of Assae Shrine and Neko's owner, because the book stated that Alice try to caught Neko once but was stopped by "the killjoy shrine maiden" which seem to be Hibiki. Alice also met with Yae and described her as "a grown-up girl who can't be easily teased anymore". These informations make me thinks that Alice is at the very least 500+ years old due to the fact that she met with Hibiki and the fact that she saw/knew young Yae.

Another fun little note.. If you use hydro on the fifth portrait, you can make the person in the portrait appear briefly.

I am really upset that Venti doesn't even have an interaction with Ei. At least a small talk would be nice. It's an anemo archon itself visiting Inazuma.

Don't forget the fact that "Kunikuzushi" means "to destroy a country" meaning that when Kunikuzushi told Yoshinori to tell Ei his name is Kunikuzushi, its basically a lowkey threat to Ei that Scaramouche will destroy Inazuma!

I was confused on Kunikuzushi's story timeline about the Raiden Gokaden so thanks for explaining it so clearly in this video!

I was really hoping to see any kind of interaction between Venti and Ei but i guess that's not possible...? Well atleast we got a Venti and Yae interaction and they seem close enough to dicuss things kinda seriously. Seeing that archons wouldn't even want to see each other despite being at the same place makes me think that they are purposefully avoiding any sort of communication lest they draw any kind of suspicion from the celestia folks. But that's just what I thought anyway. Thank you cat for this video!

Another tragic thing about Kunikuzushi's friend --- Katsuragi was killed by Chiyo's human adopted son --- Mikoshi Nagamasa. Who was also the adoptive brother of Mikoshi Douken, who would be latter be re-named as Iwakura --- the one who funded the "Tengu Swep" and Iwakura sword art school. For those who don't know about Chiyo or Torachiyo. She was red Oni, and a dear friend of Raiden Ei, she appeared during the "Raiden Shogun: Nightmare" demo. She was swallowed by a beas of sin, while Chiyo managed to kill from within, the abyss corruption made her attack Ei. Shortly after his Oni brother, Douken ran away, Nagamasa was the next Mikoshi clan leader. And to cleanse his clan's name, he became an Inspector for the Shogunate. According to few notes, Nagamasa hates any form of injustice, and he was obsessed with the Furnace.

One thing to add guys, that scara has been imprisoned by inspector naga masa after finding that scara own the badge that shogun gave him as a proof of his connection with the shogun and act as freedom given to him. Nagamasa wanted to use scara as leverage to bring back the honor of his clan because what happened with his mother, but seeing as Katsura gi know about this (and Katsuragi too is scara friend) release scara from his imprisonment secretly and told him to never show that badge of proof to anyone. When Nagamasa learn about how scara escape because Katsuragi help him, that is when he slash him out of rage and that led him to die, scara learn this later and wanted to exact revenge not on the guy, but on the blade that killed him. This is why scara want to erase gokaden, so that inazuma would never has sword seathe blood ever again by erasing the blacksmith that created the sword. Most people on scara reddit agree that scara is gentle person (I think husk set agreed on this) , but would have a change of heart because of delusion. Can't wait to see scara again in the next patch!

I pretty​ sure the "Raiden Gokaden incident" is the big reason for the downfall of Kamisato clan that make Ayato/Ayaka's father work him​self​ out to death and their mother died of grief.

So the story of the Five Kasen really started like this: The Five Kasen will submit their compiled works but Akahito supposedly wrote a plagiarized poem (but was really done by Kuronoshi) and was punished through banishment by the Shogun. Sumizome had doubts if the former did plagiarized his work and tried to find the truth by dipping the page wherein the work of Akahito was written. It has the seal which made it look authentic at face value but Sumizome knew another method by which the banished poet used to further to show that his work was authentic: a technique which made his work waterproof. And so, Sumizome went and dipped the page in question and- the ink was erased in the paper proving that it was not Akahito's work. Coincidentally, Aoi saw this and was puzzled by Sumizome's action which also inspired him to write this as a poem for their latest compliation that will be submitted. Kuronoshi knew this and before he was exposed and possibly punished for the act of framing up the now innocent Akahito, he coerced Aoi to remove his work, (which was now compiled and will be submitted)referencing what Sumizome had done.

you didn’t include this in the video but actually if you read the lore behind ayato’s signature weapon, haran geppaku futsu, you will find out that the person who forged this weapon had 3 students, and one of them was called niwa

I find it both weird and hilarious how much of Inazuma’s novels are fan fiction about the Raiden Shogun. You would think it would be sacrilege, and if it was IRL, kinda creepy/weird in some cases, I’m sure

About Kunikuzushi: their name in Kanji is 国崩, which means "destroying a nation". This 'may' implied they initially planned to revenge the whole nation starting with destroying its symbolic weaponsmith art. Edit: Maybe they planned to revenge the nation because the one who created them (which is the god of the nation) abandoned them, not because their friend was killed.

Only thing I'm missing in this event is the final festival cut scene like other festivals

Anyone else feels like miko made the drink with soy milk(beans) as the main ingredient to mess with itto knowing he'll somehow drink it?. She always does things with a purpose,it's just never clear until you ACTUALLY see it.😑

I read somewhere that "Niwa" means "red feather" or some sort. It would be cool if Niwa clan have this distinguishable feature to them like Kazuha' red streak hair so Scaramouche would be able to recognized them easily. But then again, Hoyo went lazy with the Kazuha great grandfather NPC so no one knows lol.

Not sure if this is an unpopular take, but I appreciated how the story quests in the event were relatively peaceful... As in zero combat whatsoever. I enjoyed only playing as my (unbuilt, dull blade armed) Traveler for the immersion

it would be cool if they found some way to make Kazuha craft a weapon with his family art and probably make it a 5*

To be honest, I'm expecting some Raiden and Venti conversation during The Irodori Festival. But Gorou/Kokomi and Yae Miko encounter ends the Irodori Festival very well.

I find it fascinating that the two times we meet Ayato in a quest like this, he plays a role as chess master. Making tiny moves that result in favorable results. It's exactly like how we first meet him, beating Thoma in a game without even having to look at the board. Ayato was barely in the event and yet he's been able to manipulate things to lead to this. I just find that interesting.

I wasn't there for windblume so this is the best Festival so far. The character interact in fun way and the quest bring out their charm with a spicy story to go with

Another thing I noticed about this event is that Venti seemed to be bringing people with the paper slips together and finding important info, I have a feeling that he was in on it from the start and knew what was happening. We see him talking with Yae and Ayato said that she was the one that suggested it. Also Venti was the person with the first slip and was conveniently sleeping in a storage crate… and he was personally invited by the Ayato himself. When we were searching for clues at the warehouse, he stood right across from the flower pot (if I remember correctly) but just appears to be looking for alcohol, yet he seems to know what is going to happen. I feel like Venti might have also been one of the people that was there to observe us and report to Yae and Ayato.

I love this event so much Hoyoverse put so much lore and detals and character Interactions!!!

I'm not sure whether "Niwa" has been mentioned in-game previously, but the lore of Ayato's BiS Haran Geppaku Futsu mentions him and a "Kaedehara Kagemitsu" being swords crafstmen apprentices of the Isshin art, which could explain why "Niwa Yoshinori" was adopted by the Kaedehara clan.

9:46 no wonder why i took like 5 mins to pick one of the choices... I chose the middle tho because i think katsuragi(forgot his name) told scaramouche to never tell his identity to anyone.

After this event I'm thinking kazuha might be coming with us to sumeru(or he goes by himself and we just happen to meet up), it feels like they're setting up a story that involves kazuha and scara to be one of the main plots of sumeru alongside whatever the actual plot of sumeru is going to be, maybe scara will end up as a weekly boss like both of the other harbingers and kazuha helps us fight him.

So I guess this confirms that we'll be seeing Scaramouche again in either Sumeru (most likely option), or we'll run into him one more time in Inazuma in another event similar to this one. Guess the rumors about him becoming a playable character in the future may be true since we've been receiving so much drip marketing/build-up for him for a long time now. And also... damn Yae. Either she's just massively trolling and trying to get Ei completely flustered, or we have another lesbian pairing in the game like with potentially Eula and Amber. Still wished that Venti would have a nice conversation with Ei and that maybe Zhongli also showed up in Inazuma, since we don't really see the Archons interact and talk to each other except in their character details or in the Serenitea Pot. Hell, I'm surprised Ei only showed up just for one (albeit hilarious) conversation between her, Sara, and Traveler about the statue. Would have loved to see Ei get exasperated again by Venti's drunkenness or Zhongli asking her about her approach to avoiding erosion. Or at the very least sharing some Osmanthus wine with each other...

I learned interesting things at the event: Alice treats Miko like a child saying "little Miko" and treats Raiden Ei like an old woman, calling her "old lady". She once in the past visited the cat shrine and met the priestess Hibiki. So for she 500 years its too young and 3000-2500 years its very old 👀 that's means maybe she have around 1000-1500 years and she knows things about Khaenri'ah, so I thinks the traveler just talk face to face with her in a future when already knows the truth about Khaenri'ah because she can do spoilers very fast and easy. Albedo use the artistic name "Calx", thats is calcite in Latin in alluding the tittle Kreideprinz, in the Abyss they use the Latin for communicate. Tha'ts pretty interest. Zhenyu its the Xingqiu's artist name, means Pillow of Jade alluding Liyue and Rainshower, maybe alludes to his skillset, thats cool

This answers the question in my mind as to how Albedo even knew how Kunikuzushi (Scaramouche) looks like. It was the most baffling thing to me in those series of events.

Yae is already plotting thing with ZL through Ganyu for like very long. Yae is now plotting with Venti directly. Yae have finally found a way to bring Ei out if her hiding. Yae have given the Gnosis to Scara, a puppet she said she would kill in Ei's place. Yae was plotting with Ayato during the vision hunt decree. Then she was plotting with him again in the new festival. (Ayato is the one who invited Venti for her to meet). Yae is plotting with Kokomi during the same festival, right after the whole Enkanomyia event. So she's likely well aware of Abyss doing in Enkanomyia as well. Yae said in presence of Raiden that she should take the role of electro archon for a day. Probably joking and mocking, but also hinting she's doing the archon work for her. Yae is well aware of the situation in Sumuru, and after archon quest, she's the one who tell the Traveller about it. Though very vague, but the fact that MC talk with Venti in Mond, ZL in Liyue, and Yae instead of Shogun or Ei in Inazuma is a heavy hint. Yae is aware of Istaroth, and discuss her role in Makoto story with Ei. Yae is aware that ZL "stepped down" and "handed Liyue to humans", which is a top secret most high profile figures in Liyue itself doesn't know/believe he actually died. What Yae is plotting though? If you connect the dots from all previous points, you will realize that's a world level plotting, not just something local to Inazuma. Especially the Gnosis handing..

For the rainbow aster one, I'm pretty sure it meant that Yae fed Raiden Shogun the drink with a kiss...

One theory I could tell why only Amenoma Art survived. When Iwakura Art was still a thing, Amenoma made two swords. One was given to Iwakura Clan, and the clone is given to Saimon Clan, hence it survived. When we tasked to find the lost child (Saimon Jirou), we got Amenoma Kageuchi blueprint as a prize.

This was a great event. I liked the backstory they weaved into the event story. I had missed the info about the Balladeer's origins, so thanks for that.

In "Pretty Please, Kitsune Guuji?" When the Shogun was battling a sickness , she couldn't taste her food and is feeling very weak, so she just thought of her very good roommate Yae Masako, she then drifts to sleep thinking about Yae. She then gets a fever dream , where Yae Masako bought a drink that she herself brewed to cure the Shogun's cold , which is the "Rainbow Aster". The Shogun was asked to drink it but she was too helpless because of her sickness, so Yae Masako fed it to her "in a way she'd never dare to imagine". When she woke up, her head was still shocked from what happened in her dreams, but she *feels something sweet at the corner of her lips* . Then the story ends. She couldn't taste before from her sickness, so what happened in her dreams of Yae feeding her the cure (Rainbow Aster) mouth-to-mouth might've actually happened. But also it's a light novel, it just means that the devs probably ship Yae x Ei.

I've been obsessed with the Raiden Gokaden lore ever since Ayaka mentioned it in one of her voicelines. It's just so interesting, 4/5 sword arts gone in a span of 5 or so centuries and the fact the Kamisato Clan almost got swept up by the controversy. Oh and the Rainbow Asther... I must say, no wonder it's so popular that even Itto is obsessed with it lmao

This story was a bit difficult for me to follow. Thanks for compiling all the information and breaking it down as usual. You make this game so much more enjoyable.

What I got from this event. 1) Taroumaru discovered that we stole the deposit and joined a Tournament to kick our butt. 2) Ei indirectly lead to the slow destruction of Kazuha's Clan and in the modern day, lead to the death of Kazuha's friend Tomo in the duel before the Throne... And Ei doesn't even know that she's caused more pain to Kazuha than they both realized.

I tried to catch up on Scaramouche's story when Ayaka started talking about the Gokaden but got kinda confused along the way so thank you for this video, it really cleared up the timeline for me

I'm guessing that masako fed raiden by drinking it, kissed her and let raiden drink it. If you watched seven deadly sins, you would know how ban received immortality from Elaine. This is just a guess tho

Genshin talks about a lot of puppets, homunculi, makes me think if the travelers are also some sort of puppet we are controlling. We control the puppet or artificial life of the travelers vessel and we in the end have to make a choice and most likely against our creators wishes for the greater good.

I really want to see a story on Kazuha and scaramouche, and them possibly becoming friends. I always wondered why kazuha never got a story quest and I thought after going through this event he might get one to do with scaramouche after he- and its mentioned in the quest that there was a fatui envoy put to destroy evidence of kunikuzushi, but could not find said evidence and gave up, which made me think since he now has the gnosis he could be a direct kill target for the fatui, and due to how corrupt the gnosis is he might go insane from it hence we might have to fight him in sumeru, and stop the fatui from killing him after maybe finding more out about his story. The heart he might be getting, could be even kazuhas friends vision. it lit up at the end of the cutscene. All theories. I'm probably incorrect.

This event gives me hopes about storytelling in the future. Through a small fiction, they told 3 stories in parallel. As an aspiring writer, for me this is magecraft. As you play more of it, the subtextual parts become textual as well, which is like unveiling a story like Albedo did by unveiling his paintings or Kaedehara's writings were unveiled with water. I know this might not be for everybody, since layers upon layers of subtext makes stories harder to understand in the first playthrough withour relying on channels like this one, but that's like a complex puzzle waiting to be cracked.

I was confused about how Albedo knew the appearance of Scaramouche to draw him. After all, he needed models for all the other paintings, thank you for showing that dialogue that explained it! It makes sense that Ayato (though his spies) knows how Scaramouche looks like, at least well enough to provide a description for Albedo to use. Thanks for the info!

Cool, I like this kind of video. Honestly I played Genshin just for the story, because it was too damn great. I still don't know why most players only focused to build their characters, became metaslaves and skip the stories, yeah I know they can play like however they want but I just feel bad for them because missing these great story of Genshin Impact.

I wonder if this is all a set up for our next encounter with Kunikuzushi/Scaramouche in the future? Especially since Childe/Tartaglia impies that the former has gone rogue with the Electro Archon Gnosis in toll.

Scaramouche lore is so damn good I hope all these can get their spotlight or their very own cutscene during scara's story quest or even make it part of his profile stories also, big credits to you for deciphering and narrating this lore so clearly! You did amazing!

You totally skipped over the part where they revealed one of Scara’s attacks! We know based on his character design he will most likely be a playable character. The man states his hat prevented Scara’s attack from killing him, so that means Scara may have a similar attack as Yae, striking lightning down from above onto the heads of his enemy. Or twt theory he beats people over the head with books 🤷‍♀️

I don't think for a second Ei was going to stop that book being published. I don't think ei actually cares. Ei from her ownvoice line sounds like she knows Yae loves trolling people, specially her the most.

It was said, in the artifact Husk of Opulent Dreams, that Scara stopped killing because he got bored. This quest clears that it wasn't the case. He stopped because of the Niwa connection in the Kaedahara clan. This implies he may have a redemption arc (there is good in him) and he may be playable. May HoYoVerse release him this year.

I'm so happy this event was made. It's such an interesting approach to sharing different character plots and Scaramouche's story. Kazuha doesn't have a story quest yet but I really hope he gets one soon because he's such a beloved character and honestly I think his story would be an emotional ride. A lot of people discard Scaramouche as the rude rat kinda guy and they're not wrong but (this is biased since I'm a Scaramouche lover) I honestly think he deserves more story lore and screentime. (Maybe even a banner cough cough.) I can't wait to see more lore in the future.

Katsuragikiri Nagamasa... its mean "the Nagamasa that cuts (killed) Katsuragi" Kunikuzushi... its mean "Nation destroyer" damn... hoyo really knows how to named their character properly

There's another one that connects all these lore is from the Haran Geppaku Futsu lore which the Kaedehara kagamitsu, Niwa nagamitsu and Akame Mitsunaga clans are studied in same forging school, and their Teacher is the one who created the Haran Geppaku Futsu which is Masagomaru that everyone knows that ayato's signature sword. And we can say that the Kaedehara clan and Niwa clan are close family friend, but for Akame clan we didn't know yet what happened to this clan at this time.

how yae masako fed the shogun the drink: just shoved the glass in her mouth in its entirety, making her consume both drink and glass alike in one big gulp the sweetness on her lips is because some of it spilled due to how forcefully she jammed that bad lad in there i can't possibly think of any other way it could have been done

I volunteer to explain how Masako fed Raiden Shogun the drink Lmao! If you've seen Princess Mononoke. Just imagine the scene where Prince Ashitaka was too weak to eat the jerky, because San helped him out the same way Masako did for the Shogun.

5:15 It's only Kaedehara clan who was Kamisatos' vassal clan that were practicing smithing arts, the Kamisato clan (as Yashiro Commissioner) were simply meant to protect them and their arts as part of the commission's duty And the Kamisato in question was just grandfather, not "great" I.e comparatively speaking, Ayato and Ayaka are 1 generation older than Kazuha

This event story is very good, from lore-wise and fun part, 10/10... Tbh it's much clearer than the infamous inazuma archon quest finale. I kinda lost my faith for Genshin's story writing since then but this event is quite a redemption for me hahah. It seems they finally back to their best shape. Thanks for the explanation:>
