Great stuff! Other than a few of these that I am familiar with (Airbag, Bardic Depths, Focus), these are mostly all new to me, and it sounds like a great variety of new bands and albums that I definitely need to be checking out. Much thanks for these! I would add to this list Cen-Projekt - The Story Of Enja, which features some great classic symphonic Prog very much along the lines of Genesis, Yes, Steve Hackett, and Anthony Phillips, and with exotic fantasy elements and tales of Elves, dragons, and ancient druids, etc. A really nice listen.
Been a great half year so far Nathan. Kaipa always nail it for me. I will have to listen to that last Norwegian release on your list too. That's right up my street , by the sound of it. 😍🎵🎵🤘
Wow, that's quite a list! On this, I only have listened to Alcest so far - although Rendezvous Point, Teramaze and Vicinity are on my to-buy list. I just had a pretty intense month of prog reviews on my blog (which will come on video in the next episode), with highlights such as Kaipa, Leviathan and Amarok (and Cheeto's Magazine, but that's a bit older…).
Thanks for the video Nathan. Love these formats as it gives me a lot to dive into. Have really enjoyed the Teramaze and Airbag albums. Whilst not my favourites of the year I've gone back to them a few times. But a lot in the list to check out. I might have mentioned it before in a previous comment but for me the surprise album of the year is Dave Foster Band - Maybe They'll Come Back For Us. Prog radio gave it 5 stars without being a real prog album so had to check it out and surprised how much i enjoyed it. Thanks again.
Nice list man. Added several of these to my "check out" list. If you are ever interested in diving into more heavier prog styles I'd love to send you my new album sometime. Cheers
Check out the new album from Jadis, "More Questions Than Answers". Features the return of former IQ keyboardist Martin Orford, who had retired from the music business several years back. It's a great piece of energetic, melodic prog with excellent guitar & keys up front.
