Just STRAIGHT FACTS in this episode!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯 I’ve seen a lot of the same things as Tom is seeing in his area. My clientele takes orders, needs to be told what they want etc. I’m also still doing tons of manual labor, offering services that come hand in hand with dumpsters. There’s so many takeaways in this video - I’ll plan on rewatching this video 5-6 more times and catching more parts each time. Happy Holidays! 🎄
Thanks Cody. You are a great example and inspiration for these younger guys to watch how it’s done. I still can’t believe how professional you handle business at 20 years old. Happy Holidays to you and your family my man. Thanks for all the support as always.
No, unfortunately we were not pulling out any docs. We’re just showing how low the water levels are here in Fresno, California. Made for a good photo op.
Wow, first of all Tractor Tom has a voice for listening 🤷🏼♂️😂 Second, for the young entrepreneurs in this industry, there is a ton to get from this video, take notes and pay attention. Third, as a 30 year old business, we answer EVERY call, 12 hours a day and the other 12 hours the voice mail, dms, ims and texts are monitored 24 hours a day. We are available for those emergency calls but more importantly, we answer the phone all day long. Can't stress how important that is. 4th point, and I'll clean it up for yt comments.... There's (at least) two independents much bigger than us in our area older or almost as old, and they don't have an ugly can in the inventory. And we are upgrading all the time, as well as refurbishing every day of the year. Our clients care about the appearance of our containers, even in the inner cities. It's a constant battle that if we don't fight someone else will.
Branding, discipline, respect for ourselves, our brand and our equipment. If the big guys like you can do it, there’s zero reason why the rest of us can’t. I’m proud of our industry and the current mindset of a very large part of guys are wanting to give the best service and delivery the cleanest dumpsters possible. Thank You for the contiene support and trust of this channel. Your voice and experience carries enormous weight within our industry and I’m proud to call you a friend. Happy Holidays.
It prolly would have gone for another hour had Casey not cut me off. God I have alot to say at times. Hope you enjoy the info brother. Keep killing it in Florida!
Just dropped a dumpster. Got to chit chatting with guy and completely forgot to tell him not to over fill. Don't know why I forgot on this one, but I did. Then come home to this video and thumbnail says 20 Mistakes! Coincidence? How overfilled will it be when I pick up?? 😁😁😁
@@samedaydumpster Thanks for the positive words! Appreciate all the info/knowledge you bring to the community! Have a safe, Happy Holiday and New Year!
John there is that saying "if you can't do the time don't do the crime". I think it's the same thing now days with business that some social media guys try to sell as quick money side hustle business such as dumpsters, stump grinding, metal scrapping/ recycling, anything that they think they can make a quick buck. So many of these guys just want the quick buck but they don't want to do the "TIME" that it takes to learn about the business and just want the answers .
I'm going to say this loud and very clear... "There is nothing easy about the dumpster rental business." The economy right now is washing out the guys that shouldn't be in this industry.
Great advice! Funny just a call from local casino with compactor down. No one else will pick up phone on this holiday weekend. On my way with two cans and making bands.
@@samedaydumpster Yes Sir. Chatted with workers/managers and we came to the conclusion it would be wise to drop 3 cans tonight to get them by until Tuesday. 3 cans in under 3 hours and I live 1 hr north of town. Can’t beat that speedy service after hours.
This is such a simple and small thing we can all do as a business that doesn’t cost a dime to answer your phone. But for some reason…. It’s the biggest inconsistency for most guys in our industry. Thanks for watching and supporting Mike, I sure appreciate you brother.
Agree with a lot of this great content. Like you said about your sale going to your website I'm the exact same way as a customer. Its 2023 what functional business doesn't have a semi decent website at this point? I've literally taken my money to other businesses because the one I wanted didn't have a working website or they had a website but it was a bare bones complete waste of time that basically told you to call them. It drives me crazy. Not everyone wants to spend 45 mins on the phone again its 2023 almost 2024 make a website or retire. I live in smaller area maybe 100k people little more if drive but we have maybe 6 places who rent dumpsters 3 of which or mega corps like Waste Management. The other 3 are local non of them have a functional website. At this point its just crazy how people still refuse to use technology.
You and I Nick are on the same team brother. It's 2024 and If you don't have a great website.... not some bs website your nephew built, but a highly functioning e-commerce site, it's time for you to go try something else. Businesses like you and I are going to take all their market share.
Took a couple of days to watch this and it was bar far one of the best episodes! You both are an inspiration and I'm looking forward to meeting in ‘24!!
Yeah... this one was on the longer side for sure, but I feel that Tom had some great information to share. Thanks for your patience and watching the video.
Been watching, researching and rewatching many, many different videos on this genre of business because I want to start one of my own. This was extremely valuable to listen to while I’m currently at my night shift factory gig of 6yrs. First video I’ve come across of yours, so you can expect a follow and subscribe from me sir.
