The reason octololings jump between shops is because they are more playful then inklings as they are new to the overworld, remember agent 8 takes a selfie after every mission, also octololings have different animations for trying out weapons with right stick click in Sheldon's shop

One cool difference between inklings and octolings is how they react to the sloshers in Sheldon’s shop. If you click with the right stick when selecting a slosher as an Octoling, they’ll look inside the weapon, see the ink inside, then try to pour some of the ink out. They look confused when nothing happens!

As far as lore goes, Inklings and Octolings both eat salmon as well. It's not really evil, it's just nature. Speaking of, octolings are technically smarter than inklings with how they built the bosses of the previous games, but I think it's just them having fun as they switch stores.

I think the octolings are more used to moving platforms/ things that move in general being underneath them, because of where they were brought up in. A cultural thing. where as inkling are more stationary in the sense that the ground beneath them doesnt move or moves as often

I recently notice that the walking animation for Octoling girls between Splatoon 2's Plaza and Splatoon 3's Square is different. In Splatoon 2, the octoling girl had a more feminine walking animation with their arms a held out more and their hands pointed more up and outwards in that kinda more girly way of walking/running. While in Splatoon 3, they have a more regular (I guess) walking/running animation when they are moving around the Splatsville Square. I think it's more showing how Octolings (specially these new ones) are more adjusted to living on the surface and the culture around them.

I got a pretty interesting detail about story mode. During the rocket phases, you can hear human voices in the middle of the desorted version of happy little workers

One thing I'd like to point out is all the non-enterable stores have their own music when you are close by some of them are interesting to listen to

On the stores having there own music before you enter, there's a building that becomes a stall during splatfest that also has it's own theme even without splatfest. It's right across from the Porta potty! Edit - upon further investigation, multiple stall buildings actually have unique music when you walk up to them, possible DLC shops perhaps?

Another detail: in Splatsville, there's quite a few of stores that have custom music even if you can't interact with them/buy anything from them. A good example is the phone store near hotlantis

For the dynamo roller trick, you can do the same with all other rollers too (yes, even on carbon roller which usually doesn't work outside of glowflies, though they still need help with goldie itself). Just position yourself diagonally a little against a wall so that the wall will keep you from being pushed back. That person who disappeared from the helicopter DCed. If they dc on stage you see them just fizzle out which is kinda funny ngl. Sharing one cute fun fact: In salmon run we have juice packs on our helmets. When we use a special, one disappears. It's also shown on the UI next to the specials. For Cohozuna since we only get one special you'll only see one juice pack on the helmet and UI instead of two. So it's kinda implied that we rip open and chug a juice pack to use a special.

Hey I just learned a new secret I suppose? If you put the splatcast into a small mode and rush to where deep cut is you can see them doing it in the entire show!

When holding weapons in ammo knights, octopi game seem far more excited than inklings to use them, which could be due to them never getting to play turf war before the events of Octo expansion

I’m honestly surprised people don’t know about the different jingle in a cohozuna encounter. Oh my first encounter it was the first thing I noticed and it ended up spooking me since I wasn’t expecting it.

So, i noticed that in the story mode, the upgrade chart in the menu actually has a squid form inkling or an octopus octoling on it. (As you upgrade, you go from head to... toe? tentacle?)

The best strategy for glowflies is to *stay still* and group up near the basket. They choose their pathing and spawn locations based on where the person with glowflies is standing, so if you can find a spot where they only have one fastest way to get you you as a group they're actually really easy to hold back (chum have half health during this wave, so actually every roller can do what you showed the dynamo doing in that clip). the wall cling trick just means you have one less gun to deal with them and one less person to try and get eggs into the basket, not to mention that cycling who is on the wall when the glowflies move usually results in a wrap (it's still useful occasionally as a last second panic option though).

On the topic of the shop doors, I've noticed that Hotlantis, Harmony's shop, has a bell sound when you approach the door, and I might be wrong about this but it's the mario coin sound effect? Which is interesting if true as she IS a chiptune artist with the band Chirpy Chips/ABXY.

In Tread Heavily after you jump across the hand to get to the end, you can jump across the other hand to this other platform to get some secret power eggs and get some dialogue from Marie saying what a great job the crab tank and you are doing.

Plot twist: The Big Shot boss salmonid invaded Alterna in an attempt to put up error messages all over the place, because Big Shot is a reincarnation of Spamton.

This is a reference to splatoon 2 when trying to splat marie she has the same umbrella as last game (she still remembers to defend herself against you in the last game).

Inklings and Octolings also have different animations for when you "try" a weapon in Ammo Knights

In splatoon two a piece of salmon is in little jud's bowl so the salmon in the freezer could reference that.

A few little neat details I've found is Marie blocks you from inking her in Alterna, while the others will get inked and then wipe it off, Marina's model when you pull her up in the Amiibo box has *very* little green tips on her fingers, at first I thought it wasn't there at all but it's BARELY there. Inklings and Octolings have unique weapon equip animations in Sheldon's shop, for example Octolings are more playful and energetic with the weapons while Inklings pretty much examine the weapon then flourish it before going idle with it. If you do the mission on Site 6 called "Conserve Ink-Splat Sustainably" without firing any ink then you get a special dialogue piece from Marie about the Captain. A little fun way to use a sprinkiler is if you put one in the middle of the big dummy it spins around so fast

The dynamo roller strat in salmon run also works for goldie hunt and u can farm tons of eggs from it

If you save an octoling to an ammibo, change to an inkling, go to a shop, go to equip, than change to the octoling ammibo, you will become an inktoling. This wears off after exiting the shop tho...

So I had a round of salmon run glowfly and we used a strategy where for any map that has a tall wall, the person with the glowflies would stay on the wall and let them swarm where they can’t reach as the rest killed the enemies

In Salmon Run, you can tell when a night wave is about to happen by looking at the sun. The closer you are to a night wave, the darker the sunset.

If you throw a sprinkler into the big dummies, it will take loads of damage at a time, just try it. Also 2:31 happened to me to but i was on the pillar instead and it flung me off the stage, I waited like 13. minutes till I died

In Salmon Run, If you stand on the egg basket spawning platform as it spawns, you get kinda yeeted. That's kinda cool.

The inklings and octolings have different animations when trying out weapons.

As of update 1.2.0 I've had a funny glitch happening in Salmon Run. The Slamming Lid falls through any floor now whenever it hovers halfway above ground and above a ledge of any height and gets triggered to fall. It clips flat into the floor and comes back up again like it is supposed to fall through the floor XD

Octolings ARE more intelligent than Inklings, they like to analyze, observe and study everything in their surroundings, while Inklings just like to enjoy life without thinking too much about everything. Octolings have acted this way since they were introduced as playable characters in Splatoon 2. If they are so smart, then why did they lose the Great Turf War to Inklings? Beats me xD

I've got a secret, before you go into the fourth bit of the final level where you fight Mr. Grizz you can look from the platform and see Callie and Marie and it looks like they are not even talking to you. Its pretty funny as they are are supposed to be talking to you

Hey Nin10doland, did you know that the ring on the back of your character in salmon run actually shows you how much ink you have left. It will even show the color of your ink.

About music if you walk to the shoe shop and then to the other side the shops you can’t enter have their little theme too!😊

Octolings are smarter than Inklings, as octopi are smarter than squid. They know that they're changing stores, so they jump to not lose balance. They also test each how well each weapon works, as opposed to Inklings, who only care how fresh they look using a particular weapon. Also, that's the Weapon Desync Glitch, where you change weapons at the last possible moment in a private battle. Probably changed from the Splat Brella to the Undercover Brella, as Undercover doesn't launch its shield.

When you stand RIGHT by the porta potty in the plaza, you can hear a male (maybe) inkling struggling.

I think that's higly possible, octopuses are known to be the smartest cephalopodes, and the squids have way more fierce and deangerous exemples like the giant squids, not only that, but the octarians and octolinks have better technology and scientists like dj octavio and marina, while inklinks have many powerfull soldiers, like captain 3 (former agent 3), agent 4 and new agent 3 wich have all defeated hordes of octolinks on their respective stories and even ocatavio's octobot kings powered by the great zapfish on either one on one or one on many, this superior atletical skills is probably what made the inklinks win the great turf war, that would also explain why captain cuttlefish was so surprised when an octolink (agent 8) maneged to beat captain 3 on a one on one fight before the start of octo expansion, and would explain why inner agent 3 is such a dificult boss fight, we're fighting an inkling as an octolink, my theory for the octolinks winning in-universe turf wars and ranked battles is due to more coordenated tactics against inklinks superior individual strengh, so while the octolings-only teams have way weaker fighters with perfect coordination, inklinks-only teams have way tougher soldiers with way less coordination, making then even, so the in-lore best team would be a octoling leader with 3 inkling teammates that obey orders.

Sometimes, when you say booyah as an octoling (it might also be specifically girl octolings), it sounds like they're saying "I love you" and it's so cute 😊

7:44 More of a salmon run tip & trick, when you're in the cannon, you can actually hear a beeping noise for when a maws is about to eat you. Pro salmon run players (like me) use this to their advantage in case of a maws emergency. Sound is an important thing to pro players when it comes to any mode, turf, anarchy, salmon run, and story mode.

in salmon run when you kill the slammin lid you can see its ladle fall down along with the other debris (the slammin lid uses a ladle to knock you off of it if you stay on it for too long)

In the final rocket climb in story mode before you save captain cuttlefish if you pause you can see his actual name which is craig

it’s not just the shops that you can enter but even the stores that are literally just there for aesthetic purposes that you can’t actually do anything with have faint themesongs that actually differ from the usual. Again, there’s a smartphone store of some kind next door to Hotlantis that is a perfect example of this. Get up close to the display window and you’ll hear it.

Another thing with inklings and octos, Octolings have a much more chill idle in the menu unlike inklings looking well, inkling like!

I have two little details. 1. if a teammate do a superjump the respawn plate pops out at flip for a secont its hard to see but pritty nice. 2. in the helicopter befor a selmon run round is starting, is a little picture of flyfish and big shot.

Mr. Grizz's full name might be Mr. Grizzly Bear due to the story showing him as one. I dont know this for sure but if im right it may be a really nice detail.

The distorted version of “Happy Little Workers” that steadily deteriorated in the Rocket level overworld in Alterna seems to be inspired by the album series “Everywhere at the End of Time” the Caretaker, which has the same songs deteriorate in the same way with each new release.

Here's something funny if you jump of a billdingmin sight 6 and sellect a kettle mid air on the map you will slowly fall down and as soon as you hit the ground you will go FLYING to the kettle.I played around with this for 10 minutes.

If you put a sprinkler right in the middle inside the big dummie it will wobble in circles, and the sound is funny

In site 5 of Alterna with the gushers you can squid roll while the gusher is rising and get some insane height maybe you can get on some invis walls

I got this glitch(I think) where in the Goo-tuber level, I used the launch pad to shoot the one octosniper. But when I landed it was on the launch pad and I switched to squid form right before I hit it and was launched into the air and didn’t stop and then I died. I have the clip it’s pretty funny.
