⭐️ Step by Step tutorial on how to do all over sublimation on a 20 oz tumbler www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/07/how-to-do-all-over-20-oz-skinny-tumbler.html
GOOD MORNING ,,AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MUGS WHEN I TAKE OUT FROM THE HEAT PREES ,,THE PICTURE COMES RIGHT OUT ,,,WELL SOME PART COME OUT ,,,,,DO YOU KNOW WHY
I have spent a year learning sublimation and I literally feel like I have learned almost nothing until watching this video! This was truly one of the most easy and thought out step-by-step video I have seen yet. And I love your fun energy! 😂👌🏼👏🏼
HII AM BEEN DOING THIS MY SELF BUT THE MUGS ARE NOT WORKING FOR ME WHEN I FINISH THE PICTURE COME RIGHT OUT ,,,DO YOU KNOW WHY IS THAT HEPPENING TO ME ,,,IF YOU COULD HELP THANK YOU
Thank you for this Silhouette school. I own my own little business and I had the WHOLE Cricut series but ditched it ALL when the mug press came out. I have bought the whole Silhouette family. Still learning and still expanding and I’ve been working on learning sublimation. Your videos are my go to.
I do 350 and 45 seconds and I have a 8 in 1 as well. It always burns the middle of the tumbler. I have tried less time and then it doesn't fully get the image printed on the tumbler. Do you have any advice?
I am so glad I came across this video. Now I wouldn't have to buy a tumbler press attachment. I was worried that there would be a line where there is overlap but this is perfect! Thank you!
Oh wow! And i was scared of putting my mug in the freezer rigjt away thinking it will get moist and the ink will bleed. THANK YOU for sharing this hack. I will start doing that from now on.
Thanks for this. I do sublimation and only have my 15x15 clam shell press and an 11oz mug press. Now I know I can do tumblers too without having to buy another press. 💕
Right?!! Im so happy I bumped into her video. Cause i just think the tumbler press is ridiculously over priced compared to a heat press with all its accessories.
Is the company going to introduce a separate 20 oz tumbler attachment? That would be so much easier and I think everyone that has the 8 in 1 or the 4 in 1 would definitely buy it. 😀
I recently bought a 15 x 15 HP with cups, plates and hat attachments. I'm still very new at it. I haven't used it on plates, cups, tumblers and hats. Thank you for showing these step-by-step videos. I for one truly appreciate you teaching all of us viewers. :)
No wonder I decided to stay “THANK THE LORD” ✍️ God is good- I like that you go straight to the point and explain things clear no much prelude but showing how it’s done. May the lord bless you and keep you, amen!
I'm new to sublimation and your video was exactly what I was looking for to help me learn!! I love your energy and common sense approach to sharing your knowledge! I'm now a subscriber to your channel. Keep up the great work!! 😊
You can check out the sublimation printers I have here! www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/everything-to-know-about-sublimation_9.html There are links for each one.
I have some tumblers I'm going to sublimate on for the first time using a mug press. This is one of the most informative step by step tutorials I have seen and I'm going to follow it to the letter. Printing out full size and having that extra bit to wrap round seems a much better way to ensure full wrap coverage . Thank you
After watching this video several times to be clear I can press a 15oz mug, I purchased this 8in1, 8-months ago. I didn’t attempted to make a15oz mugs until December for gifts. That’s when I realized none of the attachments will work with the 15 oz mug. You clearly indicated it will work with this size in your video. Of course I reached out to the company, no response. My suggestion, they need to make an attachment to accommodate the 15 oz. mug that was the main reason for selecting the 8-1.
When I overlapped some of my design, it went through and ghosted below. otherwise, it was great. I use heat tape around the top, bottom, and seam, then use painter's tape to tighten it up some more. works ok. doesn't burn up.
Thank you for this awesome video I just got my 18:1 he dressed and wanted to do tumblers so I'm super excited knowing that I can do it at ease thanks again so much for this video
I've seen so many using non waxed white butcher paper after taping on the sub print before going into the heat press. What are the advantages and disadvantages ? I see you dont use it.
Thanks, my mom just ordered a similar system. Now I can bug her for more tumblers!! FYI I ordered glow in the dark tumblers from someone and the hand feel on that was weird.
I wrap around the edges you’ve been using heat tapes too much. I always do full wrap and it works perfectly with minimal heat tapes. Easier to take off too.
Of all bird feathers in the world I'm sure there are some quite exquisite ones out there I think peacocks have the most beautiful feathers and they go with anything thank you for sharing a sister in Christ shared this video with me God bless
Was thinking the same as I've seen dedicated tumbler presses, but also wanted to do other types of press. Can the mug size also do a 30 oz tumbler? Would you just ensure it's pressed evenly as done in the video
Melissa, thank you so much for the great video. I’ve been having a heck of a time with seams showing. I use a tumbler press. My tumblers are a bit taller than the design, so I do have a slight white space at the bottom, but it still looks great.
There's always going to be bit of a seam b/c the paper has to wrap around and meet somewhere. You can scale the design slightly to make it fill the tumbler more completely if you'd like.
my press from heat press nation has 2 straight press attachments. one wraps very close all the way around the tumbler and the other is more for a mug not all the way around. which would you use?
I think that would depend on what the wrap you're using looks like. You can see the shapes of the attachments for the heat press I have and see which looks most like what you have: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/07/how-to-do-all-over-20-oz-skinny-tumbler.html
Hi there, hopefully you see this comment since this is an older video. First off, very informative. Thank You, I feel like I'm one step closer to getting a hang of this full wrap sublimation. My issue I'm running into is it looks like I'm getting a bit of a smudge mark in the middle of the Tumbler where we do one half and then the other (since I'm using the same mug press and have to spilt in 4 sections). What am I doing wrong?
Hi Linda, All Sublimation blanks need to be specifically made for sublimation as they will have a special coating. There are stainless steel sublimation tumblers, but you'd have to make sure the one you have is specifically for sublimation
REPLAY# 2 years after you posted this video. I still haven’t used my plate press attachment. I get a perfect tumbler using my mug press attachment. I trim the design as close to the size of the tumbler, and I double-tape it all the way around the top and bottom. I also put a long piece of tape along the side seam over the three initial pieces of tape. I make sure the press the top and bottom edges of the tumbler away from the edges of the press because the edges don’t have good press or heat at the very edges of the press. I ALWAYS use my heat resistant gloves. I sit the tumbler on my silicone pad and allow it to cool down before I unwrap it. This takes less time than in my air fryer with convection technology.
Hi Melissa. I just got my 8 in 1 heat press like the one in this video. I've seen in this video and other videos of yours that you attach the mug press and hat connector cord under the control panel in the front of the control box. None of my attachments fit in the front connector/plug, only in the side connector, which makes it very difficult because the cord is not long enough. I can't place my mug press flat on the counter for that reason. Also, my heat press does not have the black rubber bumper feet so the machine is elevated and it won't scratch my desk. Aren't all the heat press (Swing Design) 8 in 1 the same? Not being able to plug the attachments connector at the front is bothersome.
I tape the heck out of that thing! 😂 I make sure NO air gets between the tumbler and the paper. I get full even color from top to bottom of the tumbler. I trim the white edge off the bottom and top. I stand the tumbler upright on the table so that the bottom edge of the design is flush with the bottom edge of the tumbler. Making sure the design size is trimmed even to the bottom and top of the tumbler. Then I hold it TIGHTLY and tape the heck out of it. I do have 4 tumblers that I need to bake the design off because I didn’t have success when I first started doing tumblers.
Hey there, yes, this is a specialty printer. Check out everything you need to know about sublimation printing here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/everything-to-know-about-sublimation_9.html
Hi Melissa! Thanks for the tutorial... I have several questions... I purchased a baseball mom wrap design with the american flag on Etsy and I got a seam, yours was overalapping quite a bit, can you share the actual print size dimensions so I can stretch it if that's what I should be doing? Also, I got bad ghosting at the top and bottom edges and I tapped it "aggressively!" Any recommendations on how to get that to not do that? And lastly, how did you get that to print on an 8.5" x 11"???? I tried and it keeps giving me the error that it doesn't fit. I do have the SG 1000 and I ended up printing on 11" x 17" paper but feels like such a waste... Oh and I have the skinny tumbler press so I don't have to do 4 sections, only 2, what are the setting recommendations for that? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Hello! Thank you for this tutorial. I have the 8 n 1 like you. Would you recommend using the shrink wrap baggies in addition to taping? They baggies (I’m sure I’m naming them wrong) came with the tumblers I just ordered, so I thought I’d ask. Thanks!
@@SilhouetteSchool Ok. Thanks! I tried my 1st tumbler ever today. It wasn’t horrible, but my seam was quite noticeable, including ghosting, and there were small portions of my top and bottom edge that wasn’t covered, so back to the drawing board I go.,
Good Morning 1st off i like your videos I use often when i tumble, but i have a ? if im using white coated stainless steel tumblers would they be same temp and time as non coated tumblers ? ty i almost used a whole case white coated stainless steel tumblers i used the same temp & time as stainless steel ones & They are comming out paper sticking to them & rough like sand paper :(
Super helpful. ThanK you. I've had my mug press for years and haven't ever sublimated anything taller than a coffee mug OR anything skinny. Until today :) Joannes had the silicone sleeves at my local store and from there it was easy.
They would give me a date it was expected to be delivered only to get an email saying it was back order and would be another 3 months not one not twice but three times
I would look for another press. I bought the exact 8 in 1 in May and have had issues with it…customer service works the same hours as I do and no response from emailing the company. Inquired about the warranty last month and still have not received a response.
Brand new to this concept, sorry if this is a silly question. Is it necessary to sub the whole cup or can you create a 1/2 cup sub? I am assuming lines wouldn’t look good. Trying more for a decal type of look. TIA!
Wow! I love how you explained that.. this is the video that I needed.. cant wait to drop my kids off at school tomorrow morning, so I can come home nd try it this way. Ive been struggling with ghosting, burning and white lines
Just starting sublimation and have yet to do one. I have been looking for a step by step guide and ran across your video. You did an excellent job on this tutorial!! I love how you are so down to earth and fully explain every step! Thank you so much for such a great video!
How is your tumbler looks so shiny? For some reason my tumbler comes out matt even after I washed it. Could it be that I am using too much heat ? I put it for 400f for 75 sec
I tried this with 5 different tumblers and I’m still having horrible ghosting on the bottom and top of the tumbler. I have tried a couple different techniques to keep the paper taped down. This showed using a bigger size print so I will try and see if that fixes my issue.

Thinking about getting into sublimation for tumblers, hoodies and so on. How much printing can be done before having to refill ink. Thinking about going with a Sawgrass printer.
I see that you are touching the tumbler after the heat time to move it. I would burn my fingers off if I didn't use a oven mitt to move it. What heat setting are you using? Thanks, great video

This is the best video I've seen on this technique. I am so new that i just started researching. My question is, i don't have a printer. Can I use subliminal ink in a regular color printer or should I have two separate printers?
