At one point in 1991, I worked at a card shop, and we couldn't keep the French versions of these cards in stock. Prices went thru the roof for a bit to around $15/ pack. I sold Bure and Federov rookies (pack fresh) for $150 - $175 each. Crazy times.
fun stuff, hockey cards breaking out this year is what made me turn to hockey and forget about watching all other sports...just started watching baseball again 5 years ago or so after not paying any attention since, well, 1990. Remember the craze with the french cards or did you start a few years later? When I was a kid the French high number box of this was $25 PER PACK.
