This test was performed with both coolers side by side in the bed of a truck, with bed cover. Temps ranged from 105° - 115° durning the day, inside the bed, and upper 80's to low 90's outside. Yeti prepped with ice for 24+ hours orca only about 2.5 hrs. The ice I used was from an ice machine and not a freezer, so if it was more quality ice it would have lasted longer. Each day I opened the coolers a minimum of 2-3 times each. And if I stuck my hands in one, I did the other. If I removed or added anything to one, I did the other as well. If one was opened, then I opened the other for the same amount of time. I tried to make the test as fair as possible.
Both are quality coolers. And I believe you can't go wrong with either. So I'm not trying to promote either cooler. These are just my personal thoughts and opinions.
Yeti:
Pros - Accessories
Cons - 5 Year Warranty
Orca:
Pros - Ice retention, colors, Lifetime Warranty
Cons - accessories

Orca is American made. Orca is less expensive. Orca performs slightly better. I’m buying an Orca, which one is the question..?

I have a soft sided Yeti that works well but when looking at hard sided I chose the Orca. I have the 20 and the 40 quart mostly for use boating/beach use and love them both.

Do you still own these? If so, how are they performing? Is the Orca still kicking ass? I am considering buying one, but I want the Dallas Cowboys cooler.

I have a 30$ cooler. Fucking ice block is 2$ and will last 2 days easy for me in a hot side by side. Im not goin on a 7 day bender with hopes of only putting in ice once worth 2$.. by the time you add up all the hot cans goin in witch iv seen in person. My 30$ cooler dose the same job buddys dose, just hes out 150-500$ Canadain on some stupid yeti cooler.. we are both gunna need ice after 40 hot cans ran through them. Coolers are the most overrated overpriced things ever lol

"Want a YETI Tundra made in the USA? Call us at 512.394.9384 and we'll make it happen." It maintains the Ramblers and Hoppers are still China made. That's a reason for us, personally to look into Orca brand despite Rambler's well doing.

RockyTopTn4life Go Vols orca coolers! They are the best. Ice last way longer in them than a yeti here in Florida.

I'm not sure about a brown top. That has to absorb a lot of heat.

David Sanders are you talking about the yeti? When I did this test they were in the bed of my truck with a bed cover. So no direct sunlight. Always best to avoid direct sunlight if possible, regardless of the color cooler.

How do you prep a cooler?
@jeremymann3476
@jeremymann3476 5 лет назад
grey goose 01 the way I do it, is frozen milk jugs or ice packs. Anything that’s gonna get the internal cooler temps down to ice temperatures.

Just had my yeti 65 at lake mead on the boat for 4 days last weekend with tons of stuff in it and opening it a lot. Still had plenty of ice? I know the Yeti's smaller then 65 only have 2 inches of foam and the 65 and above have 3 inches. Might be the difference. Air temp was between 110 and 120 all 4 days and 95 at night. Held up like a champ.

Jimbo388388 Yeti makes good coolers. I had a 65 qt yeti, I sold it and bought a 75 qt orca. The 65 qt would last about 5- 6 days durning the summer, in the bed of my truck, and the orca last About 7 1/2 days. So once again, in my experience, the orca out performs the yeti in ice retention. Which you will find is the norm in ice test on the internet. I made this test as equal as possible. However, the yeti had more prep time. This was ice out of an ice machine, not a freezer. So that will hurt how long the ice will last, but it was the same ice machine, and both side by side in the bed of my truck, with a bed cover. So no direct sunlight. Not knocking yeti at all, like I said, they make a good cooler. I just wanted to do a side by side comparison, to see which held ice longer. I still have a yeti hopper and love it. If you're implying that these coolers should hold ice longer than they did in the video, no 20 qt cooler is gonna last as long as the bigger coolers. At least not if they are both filled to capacity. The bigger ones have more insulation, and hold more ice. Therefore takes longer to melt. Thanks for watching.

Jeremy Mann all good brother, I haven't been around any Orca stuff yet. I do like my Yeti. I heard the tan is not a good option as well. Hey as long as we have cold beer Bud it's all good!!!

What's the difference in price for these? I only have a soft side Yeti and the Ramblers, both awesome.

Moneeca Jones $189.99 for the Orca 20 qt right now. And the yeti roadie is $199.99.

I’m not trying to endorse either of these coolers. What I liked about orca was they have more cooler colors. Which is the reason I sold my roadie, and bought the orca. Yeti’s are great coolers, and they have a new coral color they are about to release. I have several yeti products, including the Hopper 40. This was strictly an ice test, in which I tried to make as unbiased, and fair as possible.

You did a really crappy editing job on this cuz it's complete BS if you look at Day to you have to water bottles in the cooler and then when you do your conclusion there's just a can of soda and a single water bottle in the Yeti. That shows that there was something tampered with or done on the side because the test should have been the same from the beginning to the end. On top of that if you're going to do a comparison you actually video your prep to show people how you did prepped it then you actually show video of you feeling the coolers so you can say there was equal amount of product placed in each cooler. Just an edited video doesn't prove anything.
