0:00 - Intro
1. 1:05 {Advice for a Difficult Marital Situation} My husband has joined a “Christian” cult where women are taught they'll go to Hell if they wear makeup, trousers, jewelry, etc., and I refuse to follow that teaching. He will not listen to the counsel of our pastor. Should I submit to his decision to leave our biblical church and be a part of the cult? He now thinks of me as "not saved" and I'm considering leaving the house.
2. 11:50 {Does Moses Refer to himself as YHWH?} Why does Moses refer to himself as YHWH in Deuteronomy 29:6?
3. 16:34 {The Beatitudes in Luke vs. Matthew} The beatitudes in Luke 6: 20-21 seem to have a different emphasis than those in Matthew 5 (physical poverty/hunger in Luke vs. spiritual poverty/hunger in Matthew). Much of the discourse in Luke 6 seems to cover similar teaching points as the Sermon on the Mount, so should the beatitudes in Luke be understood as the same as those in Matthew? If they are different, what is the takeaway from Luke's beatitudes?
4. 22:08 {Were Adam & Eve Cursed?} When reading Genesis 3: 16 (especially in the KJV), I’m under the impression that Adam and Eve were not cursed, but only the Earth. Could you please weigh in on this?
5. 26:28 {Advice for Entering College & Adulthood} I’m turning 18 this year, and have been a Christian for 2 years now. I’m looking at colleges now because I’m a junior in high school. Any advice for looking at colleges and going into adulthood?
6. 31:47 {About 1 Cor. 5 & Banning Abortion} Does 1 Corinthians 5: 12-13 mean we shouldn't pass laws to ban abortion for "outsiders"?
7. 38:26 {Can Pagan Traditions be Redeemed?} Are things with proven or supposed Pagan origins (such as wedding rings or birthday candles) to be avoided, according to Scripture? Or are they able to be redeemed?
8. 43:20 {How Much to Confess Past Sins} I have some past sins that are pretty bad and very shameful. Do I need to confess these sins to my family and friends? I've confessed them to God and a personal pastor.
9. 46:53 {Encouragement for a Progressive Friend} My friend has always been a strong Christian and is now struggling with same-sex attraction. He has adopted progressive thoughts on the Bible. How can I encourage him otherwise?
10. 49:35 {Can We Do God’s Will Without Realizing It?} As a kid, my mom taught me to treat others as you would want them to treat you. I remember living by this, but I didn't know it came from Jesus. Does this show us that we can do God's will without realizing it?
11. 53:26 {Can We Hear the “Still Small Voice” Today?} Pastors have preached about this “still small voice” that approached Elijah when he was distressed in the caves. Is this something we are supposed to be waiting and staying still to listen to today?
12. 57:50 {How to Be Content While Suffering} God has blessed my life and I know it could be worse, but I'm severely disabled and sometimes I feel so trapped in my body that I want to die, but know that I can't. How do I learn to be content?
13. 1:04:40 {Understanding Jesus’ Atonement} Is it more accurate to say that Jesus' death was sufficient for all rather than that He paid for all? Otherwise, wouldn't there be people in Hell right now for sins that Jesus already paid for?
14. 1:10:35 {About YEC & “Mockers”} How do you interpret 2 Peter 3:4 (in context)?I’ve heard Young Earth Creationists compare the mockers to people who say rates like erosion or radioactive decay are unchanging and deny the biblical creation account.
15. 1:16:58 {How Important is a Church’s Statement of Faith?} How important is a church's statement of faith? If a church has a basic, correct statement but adds and emphasizes serious errors in their services, what would you think they're really about?
16. 1:19:39 {Settling an Interpretive Disagreement} Can you help settle this? I've heard it said that the word “brothers” in Matt 25: 40 refers only to believing brothers. I believe it refers to anyone in need. How would you interpret this?
17. 1:25:13 {Should We Separate from Spiritually Unsafe Friends?} My friend of 15 years started practicing witchcraft. I ended our friendship because I felt unsafe. Was I wrong to do that? Can I still be close friends with her? What Scripture can I take to her?
18. 1:28:12 {About “Carnal Christians”}
19. 1:30:28 {Ministering to Friends with Mental Struggles} How can I share the Gospel with people who have schizoaffective disorder and severe depression? I know a man who can't comprehend that he has worth and value.
20. 1:34:03 {Can All Sins Be Forgiven?} What does Matthew 12: 32 mean?
BONUS Q! 1:36:01 What is the perfect number of cats, and how many cats do you have currently?

Thanks for the timestamps Sarah I love you. 100TH COMMENT I'M EARLY ASFLIP AGAIN 👊. AMEN brother Mike Winger many of these cults in the modern era use unscriptural doctrines of different mythological and religious concepts mixed with Christianity and worldliness to take advantage of people in already emotionally and psychologically compromised situations. I found that you can find the Age of the Earth in the Bible by applying The Scriptures to world history which leads me to believe that the Earth is over 13 thousand years old since the 7 days of The Creation in Genesis are 7 thousand years since a day to The Lord is a thousand years as Psalms and 2 Peter says. I really appreciate your Christ centered and Scripturally accurate content for the furtherance of The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ 🙏👊. I'm still grasping what happened last night how Will Smith slapping Chris Rock for making a bad joke about Jada's hair loss yet he won't slap the guy sleeping with her in their bed so it's HYPOCRISY AT IT'S FINEST 😂. Will Smith definitely was a bully in this situation with Chris Rock for making a bad joke about Jada's hair condition. This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

Q6 really hit home. I was living an immoral life and calling myself Christian. Only one person in the church called me out and some of the church turned on HIM ! That was some straight wisdom on question #9! After 35 years of sincere dedication to my parent’s old school-new age religion, “Christian Science”, I assumed any attraction to the same sex meant I was bisexual and therefore,’I’m probably suffering with “severe” depression because I’m not fully being myself.’ I was confused and totally lost when I got diagnosed with HIV in 1997 but fourteen years later, quite surprised to still be alive, I reread the Bible and got an insight into God’s unapproachable holiness compared to my own selfish, sinful, unchangeable past and ongoing self sabotage. I suddenly saw a vision of Jesus on the cross and in that moment I understood the Gospel (in relation to me) for the first time ever and was born again and palpably received the Holy Spirit! That was eleven years ago and I am virtually unaffected by HIV now, though I am still living with it.

Last year I involved Oneness (no makeups, no pants, no jewelry) I didn't know the difference bc I was new Christian. For seven months I had lived like in hell, felt darkness, everyday I cried and wanted to die and got sick till He got my attention and open my eyes. From then Never look back there and everything back to normal. That thing is really CULT. I'm thankfull God saved me second time from those kind cult religions.

To the person who wrote Q12 another thing I’d recommend is to read some books by Joni Eareckson Tada. She was paralysed from the neck down in an accident aged 17 ; her books detail her struggle with God and faith and ultimately the eternal comfort and Hope we all have in Christ. They are very honest and not at all platitude like and I think they can be encouraging to any believer especially ones going through suffering. May the Lord comfort and help you

@flora20

@@ucarouen that’s very true God can and does heal today. But He doesn’t always heal how and when we’d like. And often we don’t understand. Our Lord Jesus Himself learned obedience through His suffering (Hebrews 5:8) If Jesus Himself suffered then there is no reason to expect ourselves to be exempt. Almost every person in the Bible I can think of experienced suffering (Jesus obviously most of all) God can and does cause good to come out of suffering (eg Gen 50:20) but it is not at all fun to endure. For me personally reading stories like Joni’s is encouraging and helpful when undergoing my own trials, especially as it shows that even in dark times God is greater still. Or as Corrie Ten Boom said ‘there is no pit so dark, God’s love is not deeper still’
@ucarouen
@ucarouen 2 года назад
@@HopeKuhn We grow old and die because God said men's years would not exceed 120 and everyone must die once and are raised for the final judgment. That has nothing to do what Jesus taught in the Gospels. "Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand." The Kingdom is here and now! Jesus preached it everywhere he went. Through parables He explained what it looks like it and how to do things that usher in the Kingdom. It's all over all four gospels. It's in the Lord prayer: heaven coming to earth. When Jesus cast out demons and healed the sick, He equated those acts as "The Kingdom has come upon you.". He taught us to do as He did and by that the Kingdom has spread across the earth and continues today. Through the lie of cessationism, millions of Christians stopped believing that was Jesus taught a out healing the sick and casting out demons was a thing of the past and means nothing for us. It is absolutely still for today. It's our own unbelief that stops the Holy Spirit. Jesus hated unbelief: he called it perverse. Unbelief prevented miracles in Mark 6:5/Matthew 13:58. If you waver in doubt/unbelief, the James 1 said you "should not suppose you will receive ANYTHING from the Lord, for you are a double minded man, unstable in all your ways.". That is especially true for receiving bodily healing that Isaiah 53:5 says is included in the work of the cross.
@HopeKuhn
@HopeKuhn 2 года назад
@@ucarouen I think you misunderstand the point I was trying to make. I did NOT say that God never heals today, of course God can heal someone if He so chooses today and He does. He does not promise that every time though. I did try to get the point across basically that we will indeed suffer in this life and to expect it, for it is God’s will that we be sanctified and to be made more and more to look like His Son. The Kingdom of God is growing as we speak, as more people get saved, but we do not expect perfection yet as we are still in our broken and sinful state. How could you tell someone in this earthly life who is a devout follower of Jesus who has maybe a health ailment or disability that they must not be saved or have enough faith? That is so incorrect. God looks at the heart.

In regards to QUESTION 1: I also was a former member and licensed minister of the UPCI (United Pentecostal Church International). This organization, along with others that claim to be “Oneness Pentecostals,” are not just errant in their doctrinal belief of the Godhead, also believe salvation is only by a 3 step formula that must include repentance, water baptism with the minister audibly saying “in Jesus name”, and one receiving the Holy Ghost that is only evidenced by speaking in tongues. They declare if these do not happen you are not saved. In addition you must follow a certain set of rules of lifestyle or you will lose salvation. It is extremely fear based, controlling and narcissistic. This is a cult and there many people that have left or have tried to leave and deal with much emotional trauma. Thank you Pastor Winger for this video! God works wonders with our prayers, everyone. I'm ashamed to say this, but I think perhaps my vulnerability may help someone else one day. I was a part of a cult almost three years ago now, but my husband never stopped praying for me and I'm now saved! It was a long road, but Christ got me through it and my husband prayed without ceasing and never gave in to my antics. My husband refused to join the cult even when I called him an unbeliever for not doing so. The cult I was a part of was very similar to the one mentioned in this video, but it also focused a lot on the psychological and gave tactics to its congregation on how to manipulate people. By the grace of God, our marriage was reconciled despite all of this! Only Christ could've changed my heart and mind and saved my marriage, and He did that all! I'm now studying Christian apologetics because I wanted to know the truth. I lost a lot of friends by my choice to leave the cult, by the way but it was the healthiest thing I ever did and I pray for Christ to open their eyes and heal them every day, too.

Question 1: could be number of different groups or churches but sounds a lot like the Message (of William Branham). I was raised in it and believed it wholeheartedly until some time ago when God opened my eyes. This channel has been a huge help for me in this time and helping me understand true biblical teaching. But.. I’m married and have small children and my husband doesn’t see this at all. He’s an amazing husband and father but he thinks I was deceived (like Eve) and it was pulling us apart. It feels like it drove him even deeper into the Message, also the current world situation (Covid, Russia-Ukraine, Kamala Harris as a vice president) strengthens his beliefs. After a horrible year that was killing us both inside, I chose to stay, to submit to his spiritual leadership (I don’t doubt that he’s saved, I know he is), be silent, but not a day goes by that I don’t cry out to God to deliver my family and countless others. But I can’t be the one forcing my husband to see, anything I say just drives him deeper into it. So I just wait the Lord to move, praying He’ll use other people and circumstances to open my husband’s eyes too.

God's word is never wrong. If a husband could be won without a word when 1 Peter was written, then it's just as true today. I think too few people recall that Abraham "gave away" his wife to other men TWICE and Sarah submitted even though she knew that he was lying and it was wrong. God himself finally intervened the second time and made everyone barren until she was returned to him. So regardless of how he is currently motivated, God can and does change the heart. May God give you the strength and the peace that passes all understanding to deal with this episode in your life.

@@MSS-fs8wn You are, by no means, alone! In my opinion all Christians face problems that we, ultimately come to understand that, in and of ourselves, we may never or could ever be able to bring the changes, whether individual or cultural, that we so deeply want to see happen. This can be so difficult and frustrating that many just give up. Yet it appears to me that, even in the midst of your own personal suffering, you didn't give up. No, you did exactly what the Bible teaches us to do in every aspect of our Christian walk. You recognized that we are called to "give to God what is God's," you laid your burdens at the foot of the cross. I encourage you to continue to pray with the understanding that God is always in control and He uses all things to accomplish His will. God Bless You! 💕✝️💕🇺🇲 Matthew 11:28-30 28 ¶ Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

It's very possible the lady's husband in the first question has started attending a United Pentecostal Church (UPC). I was born and raised in that group. They are a oneness Pentecostal group with wild worship services, who believe in a 3-step plan to salvation (Acts 2:38): repentance, baptism (only with the wording "in Jesus name"...anything else is considered invalid) and "receiving the Holy Ghost" (which they believe to only be present upon speaking in tongues). Anything less than that leaves you "unsaved". They elevate "holiness" (making it a heaven/hell issue), but redefine it as rigid clothing rules (mainly for women) and believe that women need to have uncut hair to be godly. Many also believe that uncut hair gives them special power/favor with the angels for protection for their family (almost like an amulet of sorts). I'd love to see you do a video on that group. I know I'm not alone in that.

I also was a former member and licensed minister of the UPCI (United Pentecostal Church International). PLEASE DO VIDEOS EXPOSING THIS RELIGION TO HELP OTHERS SEE THE TRUTH!

Regarding question one: As others have said, there is a strong possibility that the group this woman's husband has joined is some type of oneness pentecostal church such as the United Pentecostal Church or Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ, or some similar church (possibly even independent of an organization). She should RUN, not walk, from this group. Doing a video on this group and their theology would be WELL WORTH YOUR TIME and highly beneficial for your viewers and those attempting to exit the group. I'm a former member (from birth) and the concerns that she listed are only some of a MYRIAD of dangerous teachings that these churches engage in. Here are a FEW of the things on a LONG list that one has to DO in order to gain their salvation: 1. Repent of sin (This doesn't differ from biblical Christianity, although they probably prefer that you repent at the front of the church by sobbing and begging God to forgive you of every sin by name while other people grab onto you and yank you back and forth while screaming in your ears.) 2. Be baptized by IMMERSION ONLY in the name of JESUS ONLY while denying the doctrine of the Trinity (this is clearly heretical) 3. Receive spirit baptism which is evidenced ONLY by the speaking in tongues (glossolalia) rather than the fruit of the spirit listed in Galatians. By the way, they completely ignore Paul's instructions regarding speaking in tongues. ^^^These three points are taken from Acts 2:38, however, it is stretched far from its context in order to arrive at this. 4. Women MUST NEVER wear pants (even pants that are made for women. They get this from Deuteronomy 22:5) 5. Women MUST NEVER cut their hair; not even a little, ever (it's like a good luck charm. They get this from 1 Cor. 11) 6. Women MUST NOT wear jewelry, makeup, or nail polish (because Jezebel). 7. Men MUST NOT wear shorts 8. Men MUST NOT have facial hair of any kind (because when Joseph was pulled from the prison to meet Pharaoh they made him shave first). 9. Members MUST attend no fewer than three services per week and possibly more than that if their pastor says so and schedules special services (because forsake not the assembling together). Individual churches may have even more rules than these depending on how strict their pastor is. This could include even more dress requirements, restricting certain colors, imposing certain hair styles, etc. The list could literally go on forever. Again, research into this group would be worth your time and helpful to your viewers. I hope you'll consider doing so.

Q6. I’m disabled but have more use of my body than many of my peers yet they’re more of an encouragement to me than I ever could be to them. With more use of my body it feels like I have more occasions to sin but my friends with far less use of their body have so much more important issues to handle and they handle those issues humbly and trusting in God for nearly everything. I guess I’m asking you to understand that if my friends are a great example for me, you are an encouragement to everyone who knows you. Please stay until the appointed time for the sake of those people. For the first question, there’s a Christian cult in Nigeria that believes all those things. It’s called Deeper Life Bible Church. I’m unaware if they are present in other countries. I can tell if a woman attends a deeper life church because they’ll have no makeup on, no jewelry, their heads covered and floor length gowns or skirts because they cannot wear trousers. No jewelry means no jewelry at all. They do not use wedding rings! They are not allowed to watch tv, or listen to secular music. They believe and preach, everyone that does these things will go to hell. People that attend this church will say they are not forced, but it is heavily enforced within the churches. I have been given several tracts by the women when they’re evangelizing and “cautioned” if I’m wearing makeup or trousers; and I don’t even go to their church.

When my wife and I got married, neither of us were really in the word. As we went to church and I started studying the Bible more, I have become more Conservative and tried harder each day to follow Jesus' example. My wife, however, has not read the Bible and has no want to. She has gotten more Liberal and doesn't know anything about what Jesus has ever said. I try my beat regularly to talk about what my men's group talks about, what the Bible says about certain things, and try to show her love. When I get discouraged by her unbiblical views, I continue to try to show her God's love.
@Window4503

Sounds like a heart issue. What I’d want to know is why she’s avoiding the Word. Guilt? Not wanting to submit to God? Fear that her idea of Jesus might be erased? Try seeing what she’s holding onto in her beliefs and (if you haven’t already) address it with the truth. Sometimes it could be a certain sin, but other times it could be fear that the real Jesus isn’t as loving or that the Bible gets in the way of feeling close to God.

I told the pastor he was beating me, before I could go into why, he also talked to my husband. He then turned to me and asked me why I made my husband so mad that he had to hit me? I was 19 at the time and didn't know what else to do or where to go. I think that's why Wretched made me so angry when they said to stay with an abusive husband. I finally realized that just like the nation's laws, I should obey as much as possible without disobeying God. That's how I finally settled within myself the "Honor your mother and father" too. If I cannot honor God while honoring someone else, I can only honor God and deal with the fallout...and with Adam and Eve, I agree with all your reasons. I was waiting for another reason too. And I have to say, "That never happened." Then she'll say, "Yes you did. Call this or that friend. They know." Then I will just to talk her down and the friend will be like, " You called me and told me that happened, but when I came over, the leftovers were in the fridge. I'm not sure that really happened."

Don't be too closed minded that it prevents us from being sharpened by others also. Finally, let us live with more love for ourselves, others, and God. Being constantly reminded of God's unchanging, undeserving, and unconditional love for us! Hopefully this brought you help and hope today. God bless you!

Q10: It's certainly possible to do things (or refrain from doing things) that externally fulfill God's law, even without realizing that it's God's law you're obeying--you can refrain from committing adultery out of (some form of) love for your spouse, you can not steal out of fear of getting caught or out of some sense (that you can't really justify) that it's wrong, etc. But unless and until you're born again, you're not going to be doing those things for the right reason, which is ultimately to glorify God. It's for that reason that Augustine (and many other theologians after him) held that it was impossible for fallen man to not sin.

Q 14 on the age of the Earth and the purported stability of rates such as radioactive decay etc: Barry Setterfield has a RU-vid channel called Genesis science research (GSR) which inquisitive folks might find interesting. Especially in regards to his findings on the slowing of the speed of light and how that would directly impact rates such as carbon dating and radioactive decay in general. Love the channel, keep up the good work, Mike!

A theistic evolutionist is someone that belives God used evolution to create the world. I dont think mike is even softly that though? I think he thinks the earth is old, but also believes in a historical Adam and Eve- a theistic evolutionist would not. Old earthers don't all believe in evolution

@@arcguardian It's basically trying to mesh evolution and Genesis in one way or the other. I think it's pretty common because it's been crammed down our throats for so long. I think what's being mistaken for evolution is actually epigenetics, personally. However, I know Pastor Mike isn't dogmatic about it I just remembered him saying something about the theory of evolution not being a problem with his faith.

But what if the “season” is sooo long, and the attacks, sadness, or weaknesses just go on for years? How are we supposed to live? Many times the things before me seem worthless.
@brandi5326
@brandi5326 2 года назад
What you wrote made me think of when Paul said, these light momentary afflictions don't compare to the eternal weight of Glory that we will encounter when we finally meet the Lord. Or in Isaiah where it's written that those who wait in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar and wings like eagles they will run and grow weary. Or I think of when James talks about not trying to rush trials or difficulties, because they create perseverance in us. Or when Jesus said, blessed are those who mourn because they will be comforted. (Forgive me I have paraphrases those verses). Honestly the season of sadness and attacks and weaknesses can go on for years with or without Jesus. This world is fallen and it rains on the just and the unjust. The difference between me now that I know Christ, and me when I did not know him, is that NOW in my trials I am a conduit for his power and glory to be displayed to people who don't know him and encourage those that do. My pain isn't wasted because he will use me to minister to someone else whose walking the path that I have and needs someone to tell them it isn't pointless. And he will use every single bit of that pain to mold into the image of his son so that I can be salt and light in the time that I am here. Don't despair. Trust he is good even when you don't understand why. Wrap yourself up in him and his word. Run to him and his word whenever your thoughts and circumstances want to dismantle you and as you move toward him you will be comforted and he will carry you through the valley. I know it cuz I've walked it. I'll pray for you.

I had someone come to me once and confess that something she overheard me say to someone (which had nothing to do with her) almost a year prior had caused her to have a negative opinion of me and it really bothered her so she felt she needed to 'clear the air' and confess this sin to me. Her confession upset me terribly and I have never understood why she felt this was something she should do.

The Bible actually tells us to do this. If you hold something against your brother, go and tell them. I will have to look this up for the exact passage. It is about asking forgiveness for something that you have done against a fellow Christian. I have done this twice because I treated that person badly and unjustly. It is also about fellowship. Being angry with a member of the church hurts the church. Neither knew I was angry about something that they did. But God persisted in making me admit my sin. Others thought doing this was stupid. My relationship with God required it. So I did it.

@@claudiapoe8439 I'm going to disagree with your comment and agree with Mike(and I'm familiar with the verse). Telling me about them actually hurt me. She did not need to confess this to me.

A husband is not the spiritual authority over his house, Jesus is. So glad to hear you confirm this truth. He's the physical head to protect and provide, to sacrice for you. But Jesus is the spiritual Head over each person.

"Wives, do not ask your pastor if you have a spiritual question, but ask your husbands at home." Of course husbands have spiritual authority over their wives, what would that even mean? God tells wives to "submit to their husbands in everything as unto the Lord," not anything spiritual!! If your wife wants to baptize your children, she should disobey your desires and baptize them anyway because she is not under his spiritual authority? Reality is we're just uncomfortable with God has revealed about marriage, so we invent arbitrary or just unbiblical categories.

Regarding the “still small voice,” Elijah heard an audible and external voice. He heard God’s voice as he got to the cave’s entrance. He was initially inside the cave. I personally believe that God’s Word is sufficient and that today He speaks through his Word quite clearly.

PASTOR MIKE PLEASE DO A TEACHING ON MATHEW 27:50 -52 Jesus shouted again with a loud ::voice and gave up His spirit. 51 Suddenly, the curtain of the sanctuary[x] was split in two from top to bottom; the earth quaked and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs were also opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. 53 And they came out of the tombs after His resurrection, entered the holy city, and appeared to many.

I am a member of a church that doen't appreciate trousers for women/make up. It's not a heaven and hell issue, except when we do it out of worldly mindedness. If I were a female member, I would not wear trousers either. Not because our church is infallibly right on this issue, but because of this text: 'Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world stands, lest I make my brother to offend.'

Edward, I have practiced the principle that you make amends unless it will harm that person or others. There is freedom in doing so. But keep in mind that you are not responsible for how they react. They may not accept your amends and you can’t force that. But again, if it will cause harm to them or anyone else (including you), do not do it. In that case, you can make a living amends.

Uniformitarianism encompasses more than radioactive decay. It is the viewpoint that opposes catastrophism, which postulates that, at various times, catastrophies interrupted the uniform experiences of the earth. The creation, the fall, the flood, the long day of Joshua, etc. For scientists, the view is mostly focused on creation, flood, and sudden changes in our local solar system, such as the long day of Joshua. Do research on uniformitarianism vs catastrophism.
