@@janiem6347 sometimes are voices can be pretty harsh or strident and can make us sound angry when we aren’t. Try listening to yourself on your phone - it can be pretty interesting to see how you sound to others! Just talk a little more softly (my Mom used to call it my inside voice!) - try it! Smile when you talk (unless you’re sad or mad!) it does alter your voice.

Never have I had to go to Physical Therapy until this week due to pain / burning / numbness in my hands. I couldn’t believe the P.T. said the greatest thing that will help is straightening the posture (since this pinched nerve originates in the neck.) Years of cell phone use, writing, typing, etc. created the issue. Being curled up on my side at night like an infant doesn’t help. I didn’t think simply changing my posture would work but stopping slouching has helped this pain a LOT that I’ve had for 6 months. The P.T. said she doesn’t want to end up like her patients so she always has to check her posture as she finds herself slouching throughout the day. Periodic, small corrections really help. And no one wants to do it because engaging those back muscles can be uncomfortable. (A lumbar pillow on your chair can help.) Making small changes can really help us from looking like Quaimoto’s grandmother as we age. 💕

YES this is HUGE, and I find myself always hunching over, but you will notice the ppl with the worst postures are asthmatics as it is so much easier to breathe when your shoulders are rounded (hunched over). I'm always working on this 👍

As many get older, they have thinning eyebrows or lose parts of their eyebrows and eyelashes. Wear softer shades on eyebrows and lashes and draw over or fill in what is lost.

Oh My Gosh...every single hygienist/dentist should explain flossing just like you did!! Bacteria poo in your mouth....yeah, I'm truly flossing more now and will not miss a single day!! Your explanation as to why it's important is a MUST in every dental office...Really!! This was a great video, Angela and I so appreciate you doing this for all of us 50 and over....like me, who is 76 and still cares about my appearance. We can all still learn who we really are, how we want to project ourselves to others, but more importantly to our own selves!. I know when I'm just slopping around my home, I don't always put makeup on and don't really feel good about myself. Not that I have to be in full makeup at home, but even just some mascara, putting on my eyebrows and maybe a little lip tint makes me feel so much better and does not take any time at all. So thank you....we all need a little reminder to still love ourselves!!

Rose hip oil is AMAZING for dry skin, put it on your face before bed and when you wake up in the am, OMGoodness, what a difference. Another tip, baking soda is an AWESOME stain remover for your teeth just use it as you would toothpaste.

Thank you so much! I love your videos! I grew up as a nerdy-geeky grl, and fashion/makeup was not in the cards for me growing up. This is important as a lady and especially after my divorce.... You're so right (after having a child and being a mom), getting yourself put together was so much harder back then, and now that my daughter is older- I do need to re-think of how to enjoy preparing myself for the day. I started using castor oil on my face and hands. It’s been 3 months and it seems to be fading age spots on them. Plus getting rid of dark circles under my eyes. Very moisturizing.

@@zeehuss7275I use it at night. Use a Q-tip to apply to eyes lids, lashes and brows, under eyes. Apply to arms and legs like lotion. I just make sure I don’t have my favorite sheets on the bed. But, it doesn’t take long for it to soak in. The payoff is worth it. I also use tretinoin .1% on my face and neck.

I have found the perfect “foundation” for me. Cereve tinted sunscreen. We all need sunscreen on on our face. I can’t tell you how much of a game changer it has been. I love using a moisturizer under it .Then I like elf halo glow. It gives such a great base for either an everyday look or a glam look. I also found something that FINALLY covers my dark circles. Milani conceal and perfect eye brightener. This was a great video. I need to get away from my everyday frumpy look.

These are all great tips along with ahealthy diet, enough sleep, and less stress. Also I along with many other women, have started wearing wigs. Do to hair thinning, wanting to go gray, and other medical reasons, it is just fun. The wigs of today are fantastic, and at all price points. And like I said, fun!

Wigs today come in many price points and are made to be worn in summer with cooler vented caps. Alot of them can be worn year round. They can definitely make you look pretty and define your style. Have fun and try new things to make you feel good about yourself!

Hi Angela! So many great tips😊. My favorite fake tan products are either Tanologist or Isle of Paradise tan drops. They mix into your own lotion and are foolproof. I will even wear plastic gloves to make application that much easier and not have to scrub my hands afterward. Jergens natural glow lotion in between doing tan drops keeps the color going all week or longer. ❤

If you look at self tanners, the tanning ingredient is always the same (it also has that smell). Applying before bed so you can shower in the morning can work, but the sheets will smell. Sometimes if you apply early in the day, and showering before bed works.

It is too difficult to apply evenly and fades unevenly. I gave up as just darkens my dark aging spots on my arms. I have noticed shopping channel sales people looking Orange and uneven in fake tans. White palms are also not nice looking. I use spf all year round and nix the bother of self tan. Spray tans are not always affordable or available. I live two hours from a derm and they deal with medical skin i health ssues .I get a little color from walking outside.

Living in Florida on the water with curly hair is a battle. Being on the Intracoastal 10 minutes from the ocean is a hat, pony tail, etc. The only thing that really works is keratin and I haven’t done that since before the pandemic. I will be doing it in June before leaving for Ireland for five weeks. Keratin is not a chemical, so it doesn’t damage my hair, but it’s so important to have a good hairdresser. I just subscribed and looking forward to your other posts.

Great tips! I won’t put synthetic chemicals on me to smell good or be tan (to the point of I make my own fragrance free laundry detergent to avoid it, but keeping myself and my clothes clean and neat goes a long way with this. Also, some vanilla extract on pulse points in the cooler months. Who doesn’t love smelling real vanilla! 😃 I find humans that speak clearly and kindly and use interesting words properly to speak, come across very classy and “together”.

Wow, I am so impressed with you discussing quickly blow drying your hair to damp and then using the volumizer. That is what I do and I found this combo is the quickest way to get out the door. These people who section a piece of hair, the put their brush under it while holding up their hairdryer to the brush to dry their hair are so missing the boat. That takes forever. Life is just way too short to do it that way, especially considering we are getting to the age of no guarantees and shorter expectations of time left.

I use IT Cosmetics foundation. It has SPF50. L. Mercier tinted moisturizer blushes and powder saves my day. Winter my Skin&Co facial oil keeps skin moist and glowing. Just celebrated 70 birthday and love keeping in shape. Workouts are a MUST!

I love all your advice BUT please say NO to the perfume. Many people have problems with fragrance. People traveling on planes with a ton of perfume 😢. Perfume in boardrooms have been banned for a reason. I prefer to have a fresh shower and be considerate to the people around me.

One of the best products I've found to combat frizz is the lorial 8 second wonder water. But the thing is you have to use it differently than the packaging instructions. First you don't need as much as they say. Second you can leave it on a lot longer than 8 seconds. It's basically a liquid conditioner pretreatment. The bottle will last you a long time if you don't just pour it on your head. Just pour anywhere from a dime to a quarter size into your PalmAnd apply it to the endsOf your hair. Then you just briefly rinse it, just the smallest amount. Your hair should feel more silky at this point but you don't want to rent away all of the product. Then you apply a small amount of your favorite conditioner. Let that soak in and then again briefly rinse with cool water. After you towel dry then use your favorite leave in conditioner. I hope that helps

I will second this! I just bought the wonder water last week and I can really tell a difference. The one question I have is this. Why do you put the conditioner after the wonder water instead of before? I’ve been doing conditioner first and then wonder water. Does this make a difference?

I also use wonder water . It makes my hair so silky but it’s a different silky than regular conditioner my hair feels and looks healthier . I don’t use as much either than recommended but my hair is short. It’s worked wonders .

This product worked for me also before I did a Keratin treatment. Yes a small amount is all you need. Expensive but only a little bit does the job.

My hair is below my shoulders and that round brush dryer is the key for no frizz! I have a different brand and it is the first time I have had no frizz. TJ Maxx usually has them with their other hair products. Great video!

I get a few funny looks for this, but I actually enjoy drinking hot water from the kettle. Nothing added, just hot water. I drink more water doing this. Even when it cools off, it’s still good. This is one way that I increase my water intake.

Thanks for another great video!Best self tanner I’ve ever used is Beauty by Earth. It doesn’t smell bad and looks natural on me. I use a glove to apply it and have never had a problem with streaking

Frizz is the number 1 thing I have struggled with my whole life. One thing I just discovered is after hair dried and styled, don’t ever brush. Just use fingers to run through and detangle. Also leave in conditioners work better than hair oils did.

I.never had frizz till last few yrs. 69 yrs old now.and.moved to FL in 2020. The steamy humidity here is awful. I had a keratin trratment done and WOW! amazing straight unaffected by 99% humidity. Lasted me a year. Expensive but so worth it and definitely a look that is youthful.

Ladies, if your hair is thin and fine and thereby aging you, take a look at wigs. I never dreamed I would be a wig wearer but I tripped across a RU-vidr showing off modern, natural looking wigs and decided to go for it. It’s a learning curve, but once you dial it in, you will look ten years younger and feel more confident. Plus, you can throw it on and be out the door in 30 seconds. Win!

The best product for dark spots is Glutathione. I am 58 and I don't have dark spots on my face or my hands. Take care of yourself from the inside out. 😊

My dark spots disappeared when I changed my diet to eliminate sugar and greatly reduce carbs. Many of those “age spots” are glycation caused by high sugar.

I would just like to add, Angela, that you can PREVENT those age spots on your face by using an SPF moisturizer. I have been using one since my 30's, am now in my late 60's, and do not have any on my face. I even lived in Florida for 10 years and walked outdoors for one hour every day. An SPF 30 minimum is recommended.

Coconut oil helps with bacteria in the whole mouth. Under tongue as well. It helped with tater getting on my teeth. Just a half of a teaspoon three times a week. But do not spit out in the sink, use the trashc can, because it will clog the sing when it goes by to a solidified state.

I use a good moisturizer, sunscreen and Arboonne bronzer for a glow tan. Sometimes I'll use the bronzer powder over a sheer translucent foundation.

I use Sally Hansen’s airbrush leg makeup for some color on my face, hands and forearms. During the summer I include my feet and legs. I have a ruddy complexion and it helps a ton. Beige Glow works best for me. It also comes in a cream and face product. I started with the leg spray and have stayed with it because it works well for me. Crazy, right??!!

Best purchase ever was the electric toothbrush! Try oil pulling with coconut oil for teeth whitening, and breath. I think the most important zero cost actions yo look and feel your best are limiting or eliminating alcohol and smoking.

I am very fair. I use Jergens self tanner that is meant to increase gradually with each use. I put it on at night then put on dark satiny pajamas and tan overnight.I use medium to fair and use the Jergens face tanner seperately.

Ithink I have your perfect new foundation. The L' oreal Age Perfect 4 in 1 Tinted Balm. I have used two to the bottom, which is very good for me! The texture is similar to the Garnier one(I used to use this also). I actually prefer this one, and the pruce is reasonable and the Garnier one is actually more fragranced than this. Makes my skin feel great and just enough moisture and coverage. Lmk if you try it!😊❤

Angela, I have a great self tanning product that I use. It’s the Jergens Natural Glow + FIRMING Sunless Tanning Wet Skin Body You put it on before you dry yourself after a shower. Just Pat your skin, doesn’t leave color on your towels or your clothes. It smells good too! I have been using it to help keep my summer tan. I just tried Rodan -Fields Foundation. It does not settle in fine lines, it stays on all day, not shiny or matte. It has a good range of shades. I was given a sample and was surprised how much I liked it .
