Same! And I came to the comments just to say that the thumbnail on this was so adorable I needed to watch the vid because of it! Beautiful inside and out!
Dear Cas, Please don't use red-dyed hummingbird nectar because it can be harmful. Most feeders have red on them to attract the hummers. You can buy clear or make your own: Combine a ratio of 4 parts water to 1 part table sugar. (Never use honey, molasses, or artificial sweeteners or dyes). Bring the water to a boil to break down the sugar completely. Once the mixture is cool, fill the feeders. Refrigerate what you don’t use between fillings.
@@minimaladjacent - How often should I empty and clean the feeder? The National Audubon Society recommends: ANSWER: In hot weather, the feeder should be emptied and cleaned twice per week. In cooler weather, once per week is enough. If your hummingbirds empty the feeder with greater frequency, clean it every time it’s empty. Cleaning with hot tap water works fine, or use a weak vinegar solution. Avoid using dish soaps, as this can leave harmful residue in the feeder.
Boiling sugar water in the microwave has 2 downsides...it boils over easily and makes a sticky mess & moving a hot glass is tricky ...An easier way to make hummingbird nectar is to fill a quart/ glass jar about 1/4 full of sugar then top with boiling water and stir... especially easy if you have a kettle that boils water...I can make 4 at a time and leave them to cool out of the way... also...tap your feeders often to remove bubbles and let more sugar water drop... and if your water turns cloudy it needs to be changed
I don't watch many people on youtube and i just wanted to let you know. your videos, help me get through folding my laundry and your podcasts, help me get through the decluttering/toilet scrubbing i need to get done. Thank you Cass!
For real! "You're not as impressed as I am" she says, while my eyes are glued to the screen with a grin on my face. Hadn't heard of that before, and it's brilliant! :D
We LOVE our coded lock. Each kid has their own code. We get notifications on when the door is unlocked and locked so we know when our older homes get home from school or a friends etc. we can set codes to expire in 24 hours (or whatever time) to share with contractors/cleaners. Amazing!
We had one but we live pretty far north and I always worried the cold would freeze it and I would be stranded. Guess what?! YES. That is exactly what happened. My husband ripped it out and we very thankfully use keys and fumble around and run back and forth with the age old 'where are my keys?, do you have your keys? Oh! We should give so and so a key' etc. But at least then I know if I'm stranded it's my own fault;)
I don’t know if anyone else had mentioned this, but on the garlic peeling- that knife that you had sitting on your cutting board can instantly peel the garlic if you smash the blade sideways against the garlic clove. The peel separates in one quick “pow” . No need to wait 15 seconds for the microwave.
the ole "smash with the side of the knife trick" ... works like a charm! AND you can press cloves several times towards the knife edge for a quick mince.
I LOVE how you so quickly adapted to your backyard flooding!💦And whoever thought your rescue training would lead to you saving carp in your backyard🐠💪🏻😂🤣
The automatic nightlights…cats realized they could turn them on all by themselves and now we have Zoomies in the middle of the night and not just at breakfast (when they race us to the kitchen). The collapsible pail…I was more impressed with how she closed it back up than I was about the bucket itself. 😂😂
They are meant to be used alone. They are flexible cutting boards. She should still wash and sanitize the wooden cutting board. Wooden really isn't the way to go.
I truly love your channel. You tell the real truth. You have helped me so much!! I put off dirty chores too long. Now I stay on top of chores much better, using your tips and tricks. You are beautiful to me!!!!
The hack about spraying yr plants with a weakened dish soap solution? Having grown up on a farm, some smart apples in the family knew this way back or figured it out from an older product IDK like borax or something, but since we had lots and LOTS of crops but not like for industrial size machinery .. we had several pump sprayers that were on backpacks and we'd use those for our large veggie / flower patches. Also, the comb you're using on yr cats is called by what it does, an undercoat rake. 😀👍 Just found yr channel today and already a fan. Thanks! Aszneth
You're deffo not ugly. I always admire how you look pretty without being overdone. You look effortless. I'm considering cutting my hair like yours because it always looks so nice
So you make me smile and laugh and feel good every time I watch your videos. You are a gem! My husband passed away last October and I've been in such a negative state, but you're helping me get motivated. Thank you! You honestly made me smile for the first time today watching your video. ❤
Cass we act the same. Everything is fun or I make noises all the time. You're not boring! We just bought a new house, and the first thing we did was got those keyless locks and I LOVE THEM!! I love your videos!!
You are not ugly - you are lovely! I have the same "looks like mud on my face" when I try to contour! I love your videoes, but I am really hopeless with having too much stuff and clutter.
So what the first comment meant was that you need food on them to use them. Don’t just leave them in there with no food on them for the next time you use the air fryer because usually you forget they are in there and then hit preheat and it can start a fire. They work great. I love them! But you just need to only put them in the air fryer when you are about to put food on them…..and when the food is done cooking, be sure to throw the liner away (if not a reusable one). And don't put a new empty one in until you are ready to cook more food again. Hope that made sense.😂
First of all, the out-takes were hilarious. Secondly, I would SO go "carp rescuing" with you, Cas! That would be amazing to do in your own backyard. Lastly, it might stink, but the rotting carcasses of the fish are actually really good fertilizer for your trees & plant life.
Thanks for the suggestions! The best thing I've found for pet hair came from Dollar Tree. In their broom & mop section, I found this black rubber thing that looks like a scrub brush, but it has rubber nubs instead of bristles. I also use it to get my own hair off the bathroom wall where the blow dryer deposits it and embeds it in the paint.
In my laundry room there is a rod that I store extra hangers, then I hang clothes fresh outta the dryer. Easy peasy. If you take out that cabinet above the dryer and place a rod, it would make laundry day so much easier. Easy peasy.
It was the same with our laundry room in my house growing up. We also had an overdoor extendable clothes rack for even more hanging storage (because as a teenager like 80% of my clothes were hang-dry only 😅).
Several years ago I started to place the hangers at one end of the clothes rod after choosing what to wear. Then when it’s time to do laundry I grab all the hangers in a bundle and put them on top of the clothes in the basket. I never waste time looking for hangers. Small adjustment but a huge timesaver for me.
Such enthusiasm today Cas! Hands down, the Norwex cloths are the best! I cleaned all of my outdoor windows using the Enviro Cloth and the Window Cloth to dry. I use them daily on the puppy nose art on the patio sliders. Now part of my evening tidy! Easy peasy!!
We have the motion sensor nightlights all over our house. My husband is disabled & can’t walk in the dark. They are also amazing. I might end up commenting many, many times during this video. The hangers in your laundry basket is also amazing and so simple. Next comment…I have the Norwex window clothes too. The use of another clothe to remove the dirt first was also eye opening. Collapsible bucket! I’m going to the Dollar Tree right now! We use our leaf blower to blow light snow off our deck & sidewalks. A kid gave me this tip. I love the Bobby pin/bracelet trick. You impressed me even if you didn’t impress Emily. 😊
Good morning Cas!!! I’m a letter carrier and spend time listening to audiobooks. I just finished up listening to “Keeping House While Drowning”. Great book! It made me think of you! I thought if you were looking to find more content to make how about doing cleaning /organizing book reviews!
Before cell phones and doors with key core locks, I know of some parents who used to have latchkey kids that either kept loosing the house key or the parents didn't want them to loose the house key when they were at school, so the parents used to have the house key on their (large) dog's collar! Lol After all, the large dog wouldn't let anyone else get that close to the dog in his own backyard to GET the key, and then the kids didn't have to worry about where it was during the day!!! ;)
You are not ugly at ALL and I'm sorry that you lost your Grandmother. I know the ADHD thing so well and most of my family runs on invisible steam! It's so hard to stay focused and organized but crafting and typing help. All these tips are so useful and I'll need to replay this and other videos of yours to recall all these wonders. Thank you!!
I love your colapsable bucket enthusiasm! They have some marketed for camping, that are also cutting bords and 5 other things while still being a colapsable bucket
Love that colapsable bucket.......sounds wonderful The buckets in our garage, always get filled with something and I need a place to keep my cleaning supplies. I won't tell anyone what I have, so they can't use it!
I love the side of the knife smash method for garlic, but I have to say the BEST option is not having to peel garlic at all. Which is why I like to buy the pre-peeled garlic from Costco. I put it all in the freezer, only taking out what I need. It's so easy to slice when it's frozen too!
I use Dawn Powerwash. I spray it on my shower walls and leave it to do it’s thing for 30 minutes and then come back and use my dish wand that has Dawn soap in it and just scrub away. I find soap scum melts like butter. And then just rinse. But be careful if it gets on the tub floor can be slippery.
Yeah, it does. But it contains petroleum, which I get more & more sensitive to as the years go on. So if it irritates my nose & lungs, I can only imagine how it affects birds & other pets. When I had a shower, I used Calgon water softener (found next to bleach & borax) to clean. Has the lightest, cleanest, most pleasant smell ever.
Yes, be VERY careful with ANY soft soap cleaners in the tub/shower. My friends and family(young and old from 16 to 68) have slipped in the tub after they were cleaned with "dish soaps". I was guilty of one of those cleanings. Same goes for use of chlorine bleach. It is slippery stuff...literally!!! Just be careful!
Cas your energy level is goals !! I seriously love you and all your content. It’s nice to get a few laughs and feel good about everyday life and take a break from heavy issues we all face !!❤❤❤
my mom & I had cars made by tue same maker. Mine was brand new, hers was really old. She locked herself out of her car at the mall. She called me, when I got there we decided, why not? Just try my key just to see if it opens her car. It did! We were shocked, happy but shocked! 😅❤
My Mom took the hangers from the closets down in the dirty clothes basket so they were in the laundry room. Sometimes that was my job to go from closet to closet. Her house was fairly clutter free. I, however, seem to take after her mother and am a bit of a shopper, gatherer, hoarder who just drops stuff in a room to be forgotten. Guess that's why I need you, Cas!
For your outdoor kitty…a hack to keep ants away from their food! Go to DT, grab a large plastic dog bowl, fill it 1/4-1/3 w/water..then fill your cat bowl with her food and place in center of dog bowl w/water. Ants can not cross the water and no more kitty food, or dog food getting swarmed with ants!💕
😂you are AWESOME and although I don’t need all the things, I love all the things because of how you share them! “You’re not impressed Emily?!? It’s a bucket…it’s not a bucket!” 😂😂😂😂😂
The tips and products were definitely great (only knew about 2, so very impressed! 10/10), but the best part was Cas' childlike enthusiasm and pure joy at these discoveries = 16/10 for sure!
2 comments! 1. My grandma was also Beryl, sending you big hugs from one granddaughter of Beryl to another 💕 2. As sweet as carp rescuing sounds, please check if they’re invasive in your area before putting them back in the river! I know here in Alberta they’re super invasive and suuuuper bad for the health of the river and infrastructure 😳
