My oh my good Ser, very nice video. Very hyped about the new Lord of the rings MMO, Oath looks promising too as they will improve the graphics and characters models.
Hey, this is the narrative lead for Ember Sword. I can tell you that it looks absolutely amazing at this stage and that the whole world is getting brought to life now. We can't wait to share more. Thanks for the great shoutout!
Pea Games Dude you have to understand, EVERYTHING has been done already. Can you cut modern day MMOs some slack? If you keep basing your opinion off of nostalgia you will always be disappointed
@@smash44556677 It doesn't mean it's necessary bad ofc. There are terrible mmo games, but have very unique classes (LoA is a joke, others actually try.), and there are graphically perfect mmos, which have the most generic classes you can ever find. They all have to draw a line it seems.
Pantheon is the only one that has my attention so far but it is more likely to release in 2022 or later. I want to find an MMORPG that 1. is Pay to Play (Free to Play is a big no for me) 2. is High Fantasy 3. has traditional Necromancers as a playable class (not bullshit like Warlocks and Death Knights in WoW that are melee or aren't death masters), which is hard to find for me 4. is not made by people who balance classes to the death (one of the worst things is class balance because the classes will end up like all the homogenized classes in retail WoW currently are) 5. is not solo friendly or casual friendly (I would play something that is actually single player like Resident Evil 4 if I wanted something that is solo and casual friendly) 6. has a diverse amount of different races (like ogres, Iksar, and Undead for example) and doesn't have mostly elf/human looking races (an FFXIV flaw is the mostly human/elf looking races)
I was in the New World Alpha. It does worry me that we’ve received no updates since June, but it is Amazon and they have been very tight lipped. The game was amazing, and it’s graphically stunning. I do hope we reach Alpha phase 2 soon. The game was extremely polished for an Alpha!!!
well, right now Pantheon, Ashes and Cronicles of Elyria are what keeps our hopes up for something good to really dive into in the future for us MMO gamers... right now I'm playing Archeage Unchained and it's good honestly but it does feel a bit dated... however playing Archeage without the P2W is a treat in itself cause we're talking about the game with the best class system of all time...
just don't ask them to rush it, the later it comes out the more polished and bug free it would be and the more likely it is to have necromancers (the class I am looking for in an mmo) and bards as playable classes
Only pantheon and lotr show any promise for me. MMOs are too busy trying to get us to build shit, just let me kill monsters and get gear with amazing story, lore and combat.
Seconds From Silence has me more excited about an MMO than ever before. I'm a modder, mostly textures so far though, so this is a great opportunity. But the ability to add more variety to a game also vastly extends is replay-ability for everyone... as my more than 90 characters in Skyrim can attest to.
Do you know by any chance what nationality the game is. If it will be a casual game like many mmorpg today with a focus on storytelling, or an open world like Black Desert Online where you spend your time farming with not much lore to sustain why you're doing all this ?
They said that Pantheon will be a tab target though... isn't FFXI a more action combat system? Unless I'm wrong about Pantheon but I'm pretty sure I heard it's gonna be Tab...
@@imppen I agree on that... I would like a harder game too... I just feel tab targeting is a little dated and the tab target combat does have the issue of lacking in terms of being visually less pleasing on the eye... for example I play Archeage Unchained right now which is Tab and while the combat system is very very very good for a tab targeting system I do find myself thinking "man... I'd like a little bit of bigger boom on my skills..." Otherwise I have no problem with tab target of course... but I can't lie... a great action combat system can be so rewarding... I think the future should be action combat but not like Black Desert where you killed countless monsters with one strike... more of an action combat but with much less AoE dmg and needing more hits to kill every mob... also it would be interesting if we ever had a combat system like the one in For Honor in an MMO... it wouldn't be super exciting in terms of getting tons of new skills but it would be very rewarding towards skillful players... not sure if it would work well though... Anyway, Pantheon, Chronicles of Elyria and Ashes of Creation are the only MMOs that are really potential masterpieces that are coming soon... and of course if the LotR MMO in the future is good? Then I'm all in on that... HUGE HUGE HUGE LotR junkie here... 😁
If Amazon can bring the fluid, human-paced combat and high artistic level of New World to the LotR universe... . New World as a project has gone dark but I hope we get news out of it soon.
I bought a lifetime sub to LotRO back in 2007, and log in occasionally. But the wooden characters and average gameplay is frustrating. the crafting kind of sucks. I think the world is amazing (the written world of Middle Earth), but the implementation in LotRO is weak. Hopefully Amazon can create a huge and stunning world where my Dwarf will feel at home.
@@fanndisgoldbraid3183 The poster is talking about lord of the rings that was being developed by an asian dev but was bought up by Amazon studios. This is a new take on lord of the rings but probably wont release for years.
@@decimusrex92 Understood. So I am looking forward to whatever new blood can bring to the LotR franchise. So much could be done, but I lost interest in LotRO. It didn't ever feel like I was part of the world.
New World has just decided it is unable to protect noobs by implementing noob safe zones or similar and has now takena complete 180 degree to try and become a PvE game instead. I shit you not
I liked old school mmos like Lord of the ring online or Warhammer online. Today mmos are too much complex, sandbox, survival or supergrindy economy driven for unemployed nolifers or full time streamers. I would like to see mmos which are casual friendly where you can be competitive even without endless pve grind and crafting.MMO with strong story telling. Mmos with 50%pve and 50%pvp. MMO with good guide for newcommers.MMO with classic class selection ( tanks, healers/buffers, range, melee or faster dps),MMO more oriented on fighting rather than building, housing a crafting.
12:50 If there have been a few battle royale games you were into, that's actually a significant amount, I would say that means you DO like that kind of game.
i miss darkfall (even though its still around...its just not the same feeling). i'm hoping camelot or the new world will be awesome but who knows. sweet video thanks for this!
New World is cool Camelot Unchained is awful...7 years in development and still looks like its just starting development...Crowfall is a better example of progression in development.
@@slapthekillswitch I cut camelot more slack than crowfall because crowfall is just on unity, camelot is on a fully built in house engine. That's not easy to do with a crowdfunded game.
@@slapthekillswitch it might seem that way now but (if they work out) camelot might end up having much more freedom with what they can do than crowfall in the end.
@@loverofchitown yea theres a big issue surrounding Oath atm, i backed the KS and im hoping and predicting the game development is fine. Theres a video due out soon do that should explain alot
I'd love to see a game like BDO with better optimization, less memory destruction, and more dungeon/raiding. End-game BDO is all PVP, but then again, what else could we ask for?
I can't enjoy space engineers anymore personally, I got burnt out years ago :( other than that one and maybe no man's sky there's not much out there for space games. Can't play eve unless you want to waste 6 months trying to grow your char. The other two games last maybe a week tops, and elite dangerous is just bad right now.
they both have complete silence right now, from their gaming communities. I think moonlight blade wont be out for a few years still, nexon lost a lot of $$ last year
everquest remakes need to die. No more grind games where you can't quest by yourself and instead have to group with people and put up with their bs for hours just to level up and get badly needed gear (i was a cleric in old everquest, back when you lost levels if you died). They tried that with FF14 before they had to remake it because people hated it so damn much. Hell I went to WoW directly after EQ because the promise of being able to do my own shit and not need someone to tank or dps for me when I wanted to level or quest was just sooo sweet. Also, Sword of Legends is a way better game, it's just in mandarin, which is the only real drawback(only because I can't read it sadly), I'm playing Justice Online as the healer class, and it's amaaaaaazing
I prefer a group centric "MMO" that is hard like EQ1 not an easy single player game that wrongly calls itself an "MMO" like WoW: Classic and Retail WoW do
We've had it with medieval fantasy. How about a space game like Star Wars Galaxies ? The Old Republic doesn't count. It was never part of Lucas's vision so it's not cannon. Or a good How The West Was Won ? Yeah, there is a survival western out there but it hasn't made a bang yet and probably won't. Ser Medieval, "see you on the battlefield" my ass.
"Sandbox" mmorpg = a game where guilds full of raging 13 years olds on Monster Energy drinks, go around taking all the resources, ganking all solo playing lower level players, and acting like entitled brats. Pass.
Wow, so many ! Hate to say this, but to help me choose, I am expecting a few to not be able to pull through and actualize... Maybe I am not thinking about this right, but there seems to be too many. Anyhow, I am attracted mostly by *Camelot Unchained, Chronicles of Elyria, Crowfall, New World.* (def. *Star Citizen* also, but not same type of universe) nb: I like the concepts of *Fractured,* but not being able to look at the scene/stuff around me (a more horizontal view) is a big turn-off. - As for *Pantheon,* it is such a work-in-progress, that I cannot say I am interested or not ; not until I see what it really is turning out to be :P
I love it it's a half hour of the same shit that people have been doing for years lol 2019 still won't touch any other ideas different. I miss the days were money was not just the source of game companys drive to create.
Do you have any idea what building an MMO means? It's the hardest kind of game to build... a normal game takes about a year to make... an MMO takes a minimum of 2 and all the way up to 5 years to be fully ready depending on the level of detail... stop being whiny and understand that the guy making the new FIFA or the new CoD or something like that is just an amateur compared to the level of work an MMO creator has to do...
@@sportschool3537 yes I am more aware of just how much time goes into creating an mmo it's not easy and fresh are ideas are hard to come by but that does not mean they get to reskin the same shit and sell it to ya over and over and you just have to lie down and be ok with that. That's the problem with alot of these dam young gamers and some older ones just think customer feed back is bitching that's fine if ya feel that way but when video games be one more about what you have to pay for then any kinda gameplay itself you will get it guy till then have fun with the same reskin shit because its popular right now.
The only one I have any semi-confidence in really is New World, it's backed by the biggest company in modern history, if they cant release even that then theres no hope for the genre
16:42 Wait....is that fucking Skyrim? You're shitting me right? i've seen some epic looking mods (never could fkn find them tho) But that can seriously Not be skyrim...is it? i mean fuck! it puts the majority of game developers to god damn shame.
Only negative is this sounded too much like an endorsement video. Also sounded like you were reading off piece of paper instead of giving an honest from the heart opinion of these games, sort of like it was scripted. The last one Chronicles has been all over the place with seemingly no direction.Instead they keep coming up with ideas to sell ideas to make money. This is why i can't stand crowd funded games, the devs will never be serious and with no risk no push either.
Chronicles of Elyria. First draft footage, I take it, from way back when... because...how many years they had to work on it, they are only releasing this "teaser" quality now? Or did they borrow some footage from Runescape? Because Runescape has better water effects already, sorry. Look, I'm a total fan of the CONCEPT that keeps getting talked about. I'm not a fan of a company taking money and producing Runescapian quality footage after...five years? Really?? 7.7 million dollars I read somewhere. Come on. Seriously. And I've scoured their home page site and can't find anything more sophisticated than artist's concepts. Stills of possible "we may change this all later" armour. And whatever they're "using" for character creation reminds me of that free program I had back in early 2000's. The highlight of this possible scam were pictures of "our new offices". Basically a company sign thrown up against one wall. Empty offices. Show me the guys actually working on something, like Amazon footage does. Can any CoE fan provide that? If they can, I'll stop saying this whole thing feels like a scam. Because...it feels like a scam. And this is the only game in "progress" that's relying on fan donations, that I've ever felt that way about. Having said all that, I would seriously love it if this game ever reaches the light.
Why the fuck would they make 3 worlds within the game of fractured, LOL everyone will play on the pvp planet, why can’t they just keep it full loot pvp on 1 planet and add their Pve to it, there’s a reason UO was the best ever game
If you want to play Archeage without giving that joke of a company gamigo time then play on na.archerage.to/. It still has a store but most have said it's far less pay to win.
No, this is an updated version being developed by Amazon & Leyou. It will be a different title than the current one we have that is slowly phasing out.
