I would say one thing that’s helped me is ‘Research & try, before you decide to buy.’ Yes that rhymes and it’s deliberate. I would say anything over $100, research reviews, alternatives, and sample if able before buying. It will save money, get quality stuff you want & have tried before making the full purchase.
Did you always have a goal/dream for your life? I’m 32 and so lost-I hate my job, but honestly have no idea where else I would like to work or really what I want to do with my life. I’m not having kids and I feel like that makes things more confusing, because I think starting a family gives structure to life. I’d be interested in your thoughts! Like how you designed your life and came up with your goals. Thank you!!
I was forced into a minimalist lifestyle due to having children with deadbeat dad… no child support for many years and keeping a roof over our head, food on the table. You learn what matters and what doesn’t real quick. Survival mode will teach you hard lessons but they’re blessings in disguise. I love being a minimalist, especially with ocd mental health and minimalism go hand in hand for me 😊
Use a dab of toothpaste, a dab of shampoo, less soap in your laundry, a ball of tinfoil in your dryer to eliminate static. Use less so you buy less and produce less waste. Short showers: get wet, turn 9ff shower, lather up. Rinse off. Eat less. Eat what you bought. Save vegetable scraps in a freezer bag to make a veggie broth. Drain out veggies, add vegetables, rinsed lentils, sautéed onions and garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, cumin. Cook 45 min in pot if brown lentils. Serve with a slice of bread.
“The state of your room reflects the state of your mind” (I think I heard it from Jordan Peterson). If you have a cluttered room or house, it’s a symptom your mind is also cluttered and chaotic. Sometimes the key to change isn’t about overanalyzing life but to start doing simple things one at at time.
1.Simplify your skincare routine / makeup routine ( Try to use minimal products) 2. Always wear an apron when you cook ( So you will not get rid of clothes because of grease stains) 3. Remember there is only One of you 😁
Preperation beats anxiety every time. I'm older now and still participate in all of your suggestions. Have for years, and I can tell you all that it will improve your life. I would add this; learn something new every day and have an intelligent conversation with another person. I remember looking over my son's phone bill and noticing that he had 9,000 texts in a month, and wondered how much time that consumed. So being aware of how you spend your time can be helpful. Wonderful video with many valuable suggestions. Good to see young people going this direction. Well done.
It's crazy, but i have read and watched tons of other expert, speakers, authors over the years with their tips about planning, scheduling, productivity, finances etc over the years but YOU are the one the really hits the mark for me and what you share is so inspiring and motivating to me. Even though I am way older than you and have been self employed for more than a couple decades, ok 3, your suggestions really work for me. With other experts/speakers/authors etc, I would always find a way to rebel, resist or ignore. I am going to schedule watching at least one of your youtubes into my daily routine to keep up the brilliant inspiration. I am grateful for YOU doing things YOU LOVE and sharing what you are learning in such a wonderful way!
I love your points 👌. I have an old fashioned table calendar and notebooks. They keep me organized.. I can add to do lists, work protocols from meeting. It works so much better than using a phone.. Which is restrictive, more screen time and slower.
Just started my journey towards minimalism and decluttering and already feeling some mental relief, clarity! It feels good to finally be able to just let go of things now, was very hard to do, but seeing the valve, peace of mind is spurring me on😀 It’s going to be a long process! In my 60’s now. Stumbled across your video/channel and enjoyed it, felt your calmness. Looking forward to watching more😀 Thank you!
Thanks Gabe. I am actually stressed and burned out of work. Came across your vlog, which actually reminded me on how to simplify life and lessen the stress and burn out. Thank you. Subscribed.
Great video Gabe, love watching your videos on frugality and minimalism. Trying very hard to take up the minimalistic lifestyle but struggle for motivation. The declutter box seems a neat trick!
Gabe, your words are pure common sense and yet I needed to hear them. I had already started most if these things and you made them real by naming them and validating them for me. Thank you. Part of my morning routine is watching one of your inspiring videos! It gets my day started in the right direction!!
Be thankful for what you have been blessed with. It brings contentment, and lowers the desire to gain more. To those who pursue it, contentment is closer to us than we perceive it.
My fav way to motivate myself to do housework I hate doing is to dance to music! It’s the only way I can get my butt into gear so it’s great to know I’m not the only one that does this 😂
Just found your channel and subscribed. Great content, and I really like your pace of talking, and all your active transitions. Too many minimalism channels talk slowly, and just sit there talking for 10-20 minutes. Thanks!
It is interesting seeing alot of your tips are lining up with things I have began putting into practise over the last three months. I only just started watching your channel yesterday, and of the few videos I've seen already, I'm like: "Hey, I do that! Hey I do this also!" I think we're on the same page hehehe. But it's great, because I have a house FULL of junk! And about 2 months ago, I started to sell/throw things out. Thanks mate, from Melbourne, Australia.
Thanks for the great 👍🏽 tips. You motivate me to live this lifestyle. I’m taking it a little at a time. Today I decluttered my entire closet and I felt great 👍🏽. I have four boxes 📦 to donate to Goodwill. I had a lot of bags and purses 👛 and I ended up only keeping two. Lol 😆
My guy Gabe gettin’ those Matt D’Avella biceps let’s GOOOOOO! Haha. For real though, watching your videos keeps me in the mindset of “forward progress” so thanks my man. Happily subbed for about a year now.
Just deleted instergram and RU-vid from my phone. If I really wanna watch something I have to go to my laptop. Which is at my office Monday to Friday, so... I'm gonna enjoy the few videos I actually care about on the weekend :) Sending greetings from Germany ^^
Good thoughts. :) I've been sugar free for a year and a half and it's so much more doable than people realize. --- I don't typically share things I "dislike" when I watch or read something because I know everyone's different and all content takes time and work to create. I thought I'd mention though, that feeling slapped every time you move onto another point, will likely keep me from watching your videos. Perhaps it's just me and others don't mind, so you'd not really lose much with one less sub, but thought I'd mention in in case others feel similarly. When you think about it, if you were having a conversation with someone standing in front of you, would you throw your hand up in their face every time you started a new sentence? Maybe something to consider. Best to you. Hope you get that 100K. :)
You shared some of my favorites! My simple morning and evening routines really anchor my day and keep the essentials in my life under control! I love the quote you had at the beginning! And love the movie hoodwinked!
I think everyone you should try minimalism for some time in their lives to understand why it is so beneficial mentally and physically, and even better if people make minimalism their lifestyle.
if you freeze the berries on a cookie sheet then slide them into a bag they wont stick together and can be eaten as a frozen treat.. over ripe fruit can be blended too...
Good advices, I like to listen you😅 You have good sounds voice and accent so I can learn my English better with you 😅😅😅 TBH you could be a English teacher as well👌👌👌
Learning about money is the single most important thing in life. Once you learn about money, every other thing that you need to know will follow and make you more and more money 💰
I prefer to get my close at Goodwill. It allows you to get that shopping rush without hurting yourself financially. It better for the environment because you buy your wardrobe from used if that makes you happy. I just like to be thrifty. It's also an exercise in patience and exceptence because it becomes about discovery not impulse fulfillment.
People underestimate meal prepping. Every 2 weeks, I purchase and meal prep 2 weeks worth of healthy food and freeze half of it for the second week. This makes it easy to budget, always have food to take to work/hangouts, eat healthy, and I don't have to cook at all for 2 weeks. My health has improved, I spend less money, and I'm less stressed on a daily basis. I do 2 weeks because it means I can make 6 meals and freeze half of each, giving me more options than if I did 1 week at a time.
Be vulnerable to the opportunity of a new friend. A friend may be forever, or for a 'season,' and ... for a purpose you may never ever identify. Accept and explore what the other person brings to the relationship. Apply boundaries ... with gates, until trust has been established. Then walk and wonder and grow! : )
