This is the introduction to what I think will be a really exciting and useful series for you if you are taking your Maths GCSE this year. It will help you with everything you need to get in control of your revision whether you're taking the Foundation paper or the Higher. I will be uploading a new video each week looking at all the different areas that will help you succeed in your Maths exam in June.

I genuinely feel like this will be helpful!! I struggle with maths and I’m entered in for higher this summer, I’ve been using your website and found it extremely useful because of the exam style question format!! Thank you for your effort in helping us students improve :)

Whoever dislikes just doesn't want to be good at GCSE maths. This is one of the only good ads on RU-vid!

My gcse maths course starts in September, how can I get into the higher tier, I want a grade 9
@MathsKitchen
@MathsKitchen 3 года назад
It all depends where you are now. What year are you in? Do you have a rough idea of where you are now in terms of levels?
@FC-kl2pm
@FC-kl2pm 3 года назад
@@MathsKitchen I am actually 22 years of age. My course starts to retake my GCSE Maths in September. So far I have been self teaching some of the topics from the foundation tier consistently.

@@FC-kl2pm Apologies, that makes sense. If you're coming back to Maths after a break then the first thing is to try and refresh your knowledge as you will probably have forgotten lots of it. I think it's important to do that in an active way so if you watch a video explaining something make sure you then also practice some questions on your own (you can do all of that at my website www.mathskitchen.com). So for now I would just keep practicing and trying to answer as many questions as possible and keeping a record of what you've covered and what you haven't so you can keep building from it (again, www.mathskitchen has you covered). Hope that helps! James

Ok so i know how to answer questions than state what you have to do, but questions that ask you to find something and does not give any formula or anything i dont know what maths rule I should apply to the question. How to overcome?
@MathsKitchen
@MathsKitchen 4 года назад
That's a great question and is something lots of people find really difficult. There's no one single solution but a lot of it comes down to experience. So you need to get used to seeing random questions and for the ones you can't do take a bit of time to go back and look at some model answers or a video showing you how to do it. Over time they will become familiar to you. You can do all of that at my site www.mathskitchen.com but there are lots of other places you can get exam style questions with model answers too, for example Corbett Maths or Maths genie. Hope that helps!

Also when should we start revising
@MathsKitchen
@MathsKitchen 4 года назад
I think it's never too early. I'm not talking about doing hours and hours every day or drawing up am elaborate revision timetable but you could definitely start getting into the habit of doing 10 minutes practise each day of exam style questions. As I said my website does that perfectly and will give you questions of just the right level based on your target grade and will even track your progress etc. Good luck and let me know how you get on. James
