I love the song but never watched the official video clip.. until today. I am not the one to cry easily but when I saw him returning to his family, something hit me and I just started crying. So beautiful and so meaningful. I thought it wasn't possible to like this song even more than I already do... I was wrong.
I think this is my first time seeing this music video. Oh how The Civil Wars will forever have a special special peace of my heart. Wish I could’ve seen them live when they were together❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is the rawest most real footage I have seen in a long time. How beautiful. This song could be portrayed in so many ways. I'm glad this video was chosen. Very real and well done.
Reminds me of my grandfather Had to leave my grandmother alone with 6 children , in Ohio to work in California. Life was hard back then . Men were real men , unlike many today. California especially, makes me sad what happened to her last few years
To be honest, I'm really not one to be super emotional. But for some reason this video with the lyrics really made me tear up. It was the part when he was a old man mining the rocks when I started sobbing....
I have always loved the Civil Wars since I came across them in college. I had never seen the music video for this song until today and it's made me love the song that much more. What an absolutely touching video.
#THECIVILWARS #BARTONHOLLOW The agony of waiting year after year for those we love to return home must be agonizing. She waited, because she knew he would return to her. He always did 😀👍👍👍🎸🥁🎻🎹🎸🧡💖❤️💙💛💚💜
#THECIVILWARS #BARTONHOLLOW The things that we will do for those we love. When someone has your heart, you will travel to the ends of the Earth for them. Love has no limitations, no conditions. You love them and do whatever it takes to be with them. To provide for them. That's what true love does. This video made me cry 😀👍👍👍🎸🎻🎹🥁🎸❤️💖💜💚💛🧡💙
Thanks for sharing the interpretation! I appreciate the constructive reply. I really hope the Civil Wars come visit us in CT soon :) Last time I saw them play at Union Chapel in London and was sitting next to Adele who was supporting their tour. Amazing amazing show!
