Some of the most chill and classy young gentlemen in death metal. So glad Chris has had 200 Stab Wounds, Frozen Soul, Sanguisugabogg and Sunami on. Please get Undeath, Enforced, Gatecreeper, Judiciary, Harm's Way, Drain, Max & Iggor Cavelera, Pain of Truth, Madball, and Obituary on the show!
God damn, there's so much great heavy music coming out right now. I always felt jealous of people that got to see the late 90's early 00's grind and deathcore thing firsthand but honestly the scene is hitting or even exceeding those heights right now.
I got to meet the drummer and the vocalist/guitarist for this band and they were super chill people. They were on tiny club tour with Gatecreeper and it was great. I've been listening to Death Metal for more than half my life now (I'm almost 32) and I gotta say--this is the healthiest Death Metal as a genre has ever been.
Ray (their new guitarist) used to work at the gas station by my house near Aubrey, Tx when he was still in Kombat. My friends and I used to smoke weed and run down there and buy snacks and if we were lucky enough to see him talk to him about metal. Super rad guy. It's crazy how he ended up in one of my favorite death metal bands.
Bro…… 200 Stab Wounds is sooooooooooo young, I’m extra happy to hear their ages. They play like 20 year death metal musicians so I’m happy to know my grandkids will catch a 200 Stab Wounds show with papa when I’m 60!!!
@morbidsoy funny you say that… when I saw them play I observed them straight passing the pipe in their bus and drinking brews before the show. Directly in front of the venue as they loaded up! 😂 either way, obituary used to be wild, there’s time to grow and moderate those raging demons.
It’s what always happens when these hungry bands come up!!! I love it, caught them opening up for Obituary this summer and it was the same… caught them smoking a bowl in their van. 😂
@@jakeraabe4536 We have the Rock and roll hall of fame and the football hall of fame. We also have more than just corn fields. We have wheat fields, pumpkin fields, bean fields, pea fields. All types of fields.
I have been a metal head since I'm 9, I'm almost 50. 200 stab wounds is Killer. Garza Suicide Silence is still killing it and your Podcast is Awesome. Especially because you have the whole band and not just one of the members. Stay real. Thank you! for what you do
So glad that you guys mentioned the time that Sepultura played in Mexico City in Arena Lopez Mateos on late 80's, exactly on those times Metal scene was so freaking strong around here... I still have few t shirts from those concerts. Great talk i hope to see you guys here in mexico city soon, we are few now but genre still request around here.
Your guys music gets me through my day especially when life’s rough. Saw you live with Cattle decap and I can’t wait to see y’all come through again can’t come soon enough.
I've seen them 3 times in Seattle now. Super chill guys that are always down to party after the show. Can't wait for the next album/tour. Really hoping they tour with Gatecreeper.
I’ve seen them twice now in Seattle. When I saw that they’re playing with Frozen Soul, Tribal Gaze, and Judiciary in LA in November I just had to book a trip…but then I saw that I could’ve just gone to Dallas for Wrecking Ball and see WAY more bands for probably less money 😂 oh well
I regret not going to that so much bruh. Ik a lot of ppl hate on Blackbraid for being an “industry plant” (getting a KnotFest endorsement) but idc it’s great black metal with a cool Native American influence, and they’re great live from everything I’ve heard/seen
@@do_yohomeworkI like black metal, but black metal fandom sometimes gets on my nerves. God forbid a black metal band gets more than 10 spotify monthly listeners.
@@highonsleep4219 the hate for him also reeks of white dudes struggling to repress their contempt for anyone non-white existing in black metal. I’ve seen white dudes throw around accusations of Sgah'gahsowáh being a “fake native” with no evidence, as if he isn’t extremely native looking, and also as if it’s their place to fucking legit check someone’s indigenous status. Also the most common conversation about Blackbraid is that ppl only push them cuz the band isn’t a bunch of white guys. They can’t stop their racism for one second to realize the reason ppl push non white BM bands is cuz y’all complain more about non white bands being praised just for being non-white (again, that’s ridiculous) then u complain about the literal hordes of nazis in ur scene
@@highonsleep4219If you mention Deafheaven at any metal or hardcore show, every man over 40 within earshot will begin convulsing and foaming at the mouth lmao
Dude I’m jealous of your scene in Ohio. I play guitar myself & have always wanted a band but I’m literally the only person I know that likes death metal..
Long time listener on Spotify! Love seeing more OH bands! We fuckin rippin over here! Love the Pod!! Would love to see Currents and VCTMS on soon!! 🤘🏼🖤🤘🏼
ohio has always had amazing musicians. across many genres glad brutal ohio shit is on the up.... my little ohio town , Lima produced one killer death metal band way back called carved in flesh the album as seen through tears is on you tube deff recommend if you like old school death metal
Kombat destroysssss def perfect linking up with these groove laiden dm rippers…seen 200 twice and they leveled the place can’t wait for the new album to dropppp every song they have is killer and they just keep getting better
Last month me and the wife went to see Frozen Soul and Tribal Gaze here in Houston. I hadn't heard of 200 stab wounds before that night but those fuckers stole the fuckin show. They fuckin murdered. One dude even got carried out the pit with a broken leg. It was beautiful. My favorite fuckin band rn
i saw them back in may and they were amazing!! i’ve been a fan since they released piles of festering decomposition and omg, i love watching them grow as a band. can’t wait to see them in november
Ohio has had a solid metal community for a long time. Back in the early 2000s In Chillicothe we had Woe of Tyrants, then in the early 2010s Shall be the Conqueror. I've been out of the local metal scene since my last band broke up in 2017, so I'm not sure what's going on down here now.
Great podcast... When they talked about being friends since kindergarten back to around 2003... Dam I feel old. I was already changing careers at that time, after almost 10 years in the mines hahaha. 50 years old and I am still trying to make it in a deathmetal band...SMDH.
Yeah no shit. Anybody who knows anything about metal would remember this. But here we see an emo kid interviewing a bunch of death core kids lol. The hell would they know about metal?
My dad was a trucker for 20 plus years, went with him as a teen, there are alot of assholes out there indeed lol, but alot of good as well!! 200 Stab Wounds 🤘😈🤘, Suicide Silence 🤘😈🤘
Dark funeral has a crucifix as a stage prop. When they play the song Nail Them To The Cross, the singer takes the crucifix as the heavy guitar intro is going on and either licks it, spits on it, or rubs it on his junk. 🤣
I was a dishwater at hotel and casino in Laughlin Nevada my first job. never ending dishes stacks upon stacks because the casino had 6 different restaurants where 2 were 24 hours. was the most depressing job ever haha once you got done with your stacks you thought you had accomplished your work, they'd come in with these racks of dishes from a banquet, oh my god dude.... brutal. hahah I remember one day I just walked out I was assigned to the employee dining room which was also 24 hours and I said nah I'm going home.
Tommy Lee is 100% legit you got to think the coke offset the Jack so yeah I believe it 100% .. Motley was the most hard core party animals back then especially on that tour it was the Girls Girls Girls tour
I worked at Little Caesars for a year years ago. It was the easiest job I ever had but it got very boring. Like so many places these days, the prices went up and the quality went down. It used to be so good.
While i agree about the not needing to be super technical i dont think thats a new thing that barrier already been broken in the 80s by like venom, hellhammer, obituary, etc shit even slayer was just known for their riffs mostly and not shredding
Correction Garza all respect Barnes where would metal be without Death And Chuck's guitar playing I don't believe when have Cannibal tho I found Death after Cannibal Corpse forever grateful
