Few quick questions. Firstly is the transmission fluid you chose. Were you saying it was different than OEM but fulfills the requirements while also being slightly better or is it the exact kind of fluid the manufacturer requests for? Also this solenoid you speak of, if I don’t have a error code for this should I still clean it just because when I do the pan drop and did it fix your issue? Where can I find a tutorial to disassembling it and cleaning it? Finally what is your method for checking the fluid level? Do you start the vehicle from cold and let it get up to temp without driving it and then check? I guess my finally question actually would be did this process help your transmission, thanks.
The solenoid I had to replace cleaning didn't help because some conduit part inside broke so it was sn electrical issue rather than gunk built up but I did see some cleaning it. If there is no error dont bother with it. As far as fluid, you cant buy dexron III (the original) its discontinued and today you have dexron vi installed, same but has some improved properties to it I suppose. Lastly I dont check AT fluid, once you fill it up and you have no leaks there is no need to unless you suspect it being low then you should run the car till it's hot and then pull the dipstick out to see what you got and what color it is pink or brown. Pink means good brown is no good.
Only 3 1/2 to 4 quarts will drain out. The remainder is in the torque converter... So, what I do, drain 4 quarts, DRIVE FOR TWO HUNDRED MILES, drain 4 quarts again. Fill up... that should get it looking pretty red.... TRANSMISSION fluid should always be "FINAL CHECKED", while engine is at operating temps. TRANSMISSION fluid expands as it warms...
Thank you I’m watching your video because I’m gonna replace my ATF fluid Nissan Pat find a 2001 Ellie I wanna make sure I’m using the right stuff so I’m gonna watch your video I believe I’m at 68,000 miles on my truck is on my other channel but thank you
i did my service but the gear box it change gears in 4000rpm. and just 1st and 2nd. after automatically pass to 4wd mode and change the gear smoothly. so what must be? any advise ?
well, does the solenoid regulate transmission fluid flow? does engine coolant flow to the transmission or does transmission fluid flow to a radiator/transmission fluid cooler?
The reason I mentioned it is that the ECU (computer) measures the resistance on the solenoid coil. If resistance goes out of normal range ECU throws the Error. There is plenty of material online on how to measure resistance using a multi-voltmeter but I think it is pointless because the ECU already has rejected it. Its only $100 on ebay or elsewhere brand new, just buy a new one since you've opened transmission, just get it done right then. Dont waste time on measuring resistance.
What do you like to say? Amin! But Super glue is hard and is not oil resistant. It will crush into particles and will start leaking. DO NOT USE SUPER GLUE My Answer
@@TheKnightDrag0n Good call on that one, definitely what I thought of as well. I'm just worried being that my suv is used. If someone before me added an incorrect amount?
I'm taking a shot from the hip. I thought centrifugal force locks the torque converter, not a solenoid? does the solenoid regulate fluid to the torque converter?
In modern Automatic transmissions, there are solenoids, they control the phases of fluid to allow each gear to be engaged or disengaged, there are as many of them as there are gears, the torque converter is a separate thing. They work as an electric magnet, on and off, engage disengaged. On, off, On Off, that is all they do. There is a motherboard (brain) that controls them, this is all electrically dependant. Solenoids are part of electrical systems so there could be all scenarios when one could fail that exist in electrical components. .
duuuude. should use second person to hold the pan as you pry rather than risking damaging. drop it hard enough and it'll crack. you don't want that and ffs use a torque wrench to torque the pan bolts to spec ensuring even force around the entire surface..... also teflon paste on the pan bolts is a better idea than gasket maker.... just sayin
