The kit I bought is showing currently unavailable on Amazon at the time I made this video.
amzn.to/3RpaGYX - Max Advanced Brakes Elite XDS Front Cross-Drill & Slots Rotors with Elite Max Brake Pads KT029381
Here's a link to another kit made by the same company with standard non drilled or coated Rotors: amzn.to/2WtWnnX
Link to the Sil-Glyde Brake Grease: amzn.to/2VRnYCw
Link to some brake caliper holders: amzn.to/2Q0E3kd and amzn.to/2LsWvTO
Just double check with the Amazon Parts Finder tool that these will work for your truck. I heard that they changed the size of the brake pads mid year on this model, but the process to change them should be the same.
Just another quick video showing how I replaced the brake pads and rotors on my 2004 Tundra Double Cab 4wd. The old pads were worn out and the rotors were starting to shake and vibrate when making a hard stop.
Tools Needed:
Large Screwdrivers or pry bars or C-clamps or C type Vise Grips or specialty caliper tool.....
17mm deep socket with breaker bar
Small Pliers to pull out the pins.
Sil-Glyde Brake Grease.
Thanks for watching!

When editing, I cut out a lot of footage to try to keep the videos shorter. I just double checked the truck and the clip is still there installed in place, so what I think happened is I had probably turned that pin so the clip was facing the other direction. Glad you noticed that though! Thanks for watching! -Dan the Fix it Man

Quick question. Did your new rotors come black or did you paint them?
@DantheFixitMan
@DantheFixitMan 5 лет назад
Hi Mark, These came with that black coating on them already. It took a few days for it to burn off, but they stop great - much better than before. No complaints so far. Thanks for watching! -Dan the Fix it Man

Great video. Just a heads up, usually you wanna take a wire brush to the brake pad pins. Then use anti seize on the pins. And far as the metal brake line hose from that c clip you removed it’s easer to remove that entire bracket 12mm socket provides more move ability. It was a good video ,,,,, I’ve seen a couple videos now where the pins are not being wire brushed I had a wired grinder at my work bench so it cleans it in a jippy lol. I work at toyota,,,,,,😁
@DantheFixitMan
@DantheFixitMan 5 лет назад
Thx Damien, I agree, I think I would do the 12mm bolt on the metal brake line next time, and Yes, those pins really didn’t clean up too well with just the brake cleaner and paper towel. Great advice on the wire wheel on the bench grinder! Thanks for watching! Take care, -Dan the Fix it Man

FYI...on the side of the rotor is a measurement stamped on the minimum width thickness. I found it's better just to buy new rotors instead of having them turned. The thinner they get...the more chance of warpage...just saying.

Hi RJ, No problem, I am happy to report that these brakes are working great. I don’t have too many miles on them yet, as it’s not my daily driver anymore, but so far so good. I did notice a little brake fade as they were getting hot during the initial bedding in process (pretty normal), but now under regular driving conditions, they are working fine and I have no complaints. Thanks for watching! Take care, Dan the Fix it Man

Just thought I’d post that the brake line fastener on the steering knuckle is a pain. It uses a weird flared bolt head and nothing I had would grab onto it securely. If you can, have someone hold the caliper to avoid breaking the solid brake line and slap the rotor on real quick.

Hey Dan what is the benefit to the slotted drilled rotors vs. not?
@DantheFixitMan

@DantheFixitMan
