@@davidalba6781 yea thats my point when someone owns a car they start thinking its the god of cars not true its always something you can do to get faster stang are awesome but the ls1 would still can whip half the cars in this day and time as well in its time too
I believe this all day.... older cars were much lighter. My 65 Fairlane is only 3200 pounds. 15 years of emissions and safety add ons will make the mustang much heavier. I also believe the LS1 was very under rated. I dropped a 2001 Trans Am Ls1 t56 tranny spec clutch into a 95 Nissan 240sx with factory 4.09 gears. Diablo sport tune, full length headers into 3 inch single exhaust and it dynoed at 323 rwhp. Absolutely no internals were swapped. Engine and trans had 98k on it. I sold it before I had a chance to even enjoy it. Nice shifting!
Jeff Carr Fox bodies are the schizz as a race car. I actually love the quad headlight Mustangs. Give me an 86 with the 10 holes..:-) Thx for the kind words. I never mentioned my car because it isn't a racecar. Brodix headed 496 w/ 6 speed. She'll run down the interstate at 75 mph at 2400 RPM. Damn thing blows off the drag radials from a 40 mph roll in 3rd gear. You might have your hands full if I can ever make it hook....:-D
@CareerFireman Can you add in the Pontiac Trans Am sales to the Camaro, and recalculate? It's the same when comparing F-150 sales to Silverado + Sierra. In both cases, GM split their sales figures of essentially the same vehicle into two models, while there was only one F-150 and one Mustang. Of course, now that there is no Trans Am anymore, it's easy to see that Mustang sales are whooping up on Camaro sales. Even the OLD Challenger is whooping up on Camaro sales, and possibly close to new Mustang.
Add TA's and Firebirds to your sales list there. Also consider the fact that GM guys bought Vette's instead. Ford didn't have a Corvette type car and still doesn't unless you consider a Ford GT(Which is way more expensive than your average Vette).
I know im glad af i recently bought a mf 2000 chevy camaro z28 🤣 these camaros still be smokin new stangs but no hate to stangs they sexy af to id love to own one
@Jeff Carr those mods listed sound about right with the outcome of the race my buddy has pretty much the identical setup on his 2002 ss 6speed manual and I have him out the hole and at the top of 4 he is pulling on me hard I lose by a 1 car every time and i drive a 6th gen camaro 2ss those 2nd gen coyotes are slower then the new camaros i still like them very good looking and sounding cars no hate just facts
I can't say, I used mine as a weekend cruiser and for an occasional car show. I did take it to the drag strip about 5 times. The car was all stock and turned consistent 13:40's.
@@ebkbk9902 that's my point exactly... You shouldn't have to do that... Run them stock since everyone making it seems like a stock Chevy beat a stock Ford... That's all I'm saying...
@@dfk4500 All I hear is excuses,, the heads on the OLD LS1 compare to the NEW Coyote,, so what's the problem,, the play'n ground TOO FAIR?????????? 2000 technology against WAY newer, FOUR CAMS, NO pushrods
My buddy has similar mods done to his 2002 ss he always gets me by 1 car on the top end and I drive a 6th gen 2ss but now that I got my 315s it should be a better race for me love those catfish they are amazing cars and will hurt feelings for sure
I've owned every generation of F body, 1 through 4 and I've never lost a race to a Mustang. I know 5th gens beat Mustangs too. Now I have a '71 Trans Am and a 2000 Z28.
That guy in the Honda honking the horn needs to get it together... Also better to hold the phone in the window or point it backwards since you keep winning.
Thos older camaros are amazing cars with a few mods done to them a cam headers exhaust and a tune you will be hurting feelings on lots of people stock 6th gen camaro ss owners and newer 5.0 also I have a 6th gen 2ss and those catfish can sure move
I have an 01 SS Camaro and I raise my friend stock 13 Mustang GT and I barely beat him but now he got a tune and quarter intake off-road exhaust and throttle body and he walked away from me pretty good so I want to come back and be able to beat him I have long tube headers K&N cold air intake LS6 intake manifold and that's all I have four tens that I need to install I'm actually getting ready to buy a cam but I am stuck between the Sinister can or the ms3 which one would you recommend
Salvador Marines neither of those cams I would go with the tick performance SNS stage 3, or Brian Tooley stage 4 with good valve springs. Both of these cams are outstanding massive power gains I originally had the 228r Texas Speed, these cams out perform.
Bought my 2002 Z28 back in 2007 with just a K&N intake runs 13.12 @ 106 mph all day long, paid about $8,000 for it ... still own it 3/6/2019 ... stock except for the k&n and stock 4-speed auto ...
Just got a Detroit 373 posi to replace the detonated, factory limited slip. Lol. My fault it went , showing off costs ya. Ha ha. Can't wait for the rain to stop up here on the east coast . Great video, proof that will hurt some Ford fans lol
@@Mr357shooter The fitment was as good as can be I guess, no issues still till this day. Ground clearance is just as good as the rest. For the price of the TSP’s these have held up just fine.
@@blaineo6290 damn bro I got long tubes, exhaust 6speed tuned and it only made 330hp. I added a slp lid, not sure how much if any that would add. But does a pulley really make that much hp?
my FBO 98Z28 with bbk manifold, LT headers, ORY, cat back exhaust, SLP pulley, frost tune, 85mm TB could not take on a FBO tune 2015 Mustang 5.0. Matter of fact I would lose a car length every gear do to his higher redline. I was thinking of getting gears but sold the car and got cammed and geared 99 SS. Either that coyote needs a tune which i doubt cause hand helds tunes are easiest to install or that camaro has more than claimed.
OFFRD I wish you could ride in this car... This thing is a factory freak. Maybe I have a badass tune? Maybe it’s because I only have 64,000 on the clock? Maybe I have a plum crazy purple dash mat? Why you so butthurt I didn’t sleep with your wife! You need a hug? Also, I’m sorry I’m telling the truth about my car.
Yup and that is why the driver is at fault, there's no reason a 6th gen should lose to a Mach 1 with full exhaust. It's the same reason I gapped 2 earlier model Coyotes from 0 to about 120 in my minor bolt on Camaro SS.
You can beat the newer mustang but your balls will be to the wall..got to floor it and don't look back... I've got a 2000 Z28 Camaro..I usually back down from a race..when I get too close to semi trucks rears and cars.. trying to pass the other racer.. but the Z28 LS1 is not a joke.. as you can see in this video
Blain O -92mm fast intake with 92mm fast throttle body, full 3in exhaust, 243 heads worked with upgraded valve train, 3600 stall converter and shift kit with a tune and a 3:42 rear gear
He forgot the nos in the setup lol, im sorry i just dont beleive this shit. Mustang comes stock with 100 more horses. A 4v 4.6 doesnt have a hard time with ls1 why would a brand new coyote? Somethings more then exhaust and pulley lol
A 4.6 doesn’t hold a candle against an LS1 my dude.. Also, that hp is to the crank, not to the ground. If you’d like, I’ll upload a video of my car against a stock 4.6 with headers and a 410 gear.
Stock coyotes are slow. Boosted is where they take everyone to Gapplebees. LS motors perform way better with bolt ons, that coyotes gears and driver are probably it looks to loose dramatically and also the camaro jumps on 2 a few times. Good runs
@@blaineo6290 saw mustang nose diving... who ever drove camaro can drive, whoever drove mustang should be driving automatic civic, those nose dives between shifts was insane. If he's your friend? Sorry but he don't know how to drive. He waits second before launching on 3rd honk and he's at low ass RPM. You have go have coyote at 5k RPM and shift at 7k redline thats the powerband. Sorry but this goofy guy in mustang doesn't know shit about his car.
