Yea we have several brands of elevators on campus and no one knows where the fire service keys are (even the F.D.). We have more Dover and T.K. so that is the only key they decided to go with. We only have two Schindler and two Otis elevators with the fire service feature and a couple of Craft (Esco) elevators but we have about 20 that the Dover key will work. LOL I just happened to have my keys here and yep thats the number on it.
Ahh yes, the H2389 key is every novice's elevator key. It was my first elevator key (I now have a rather expanded collection for Dover/TK, Otis, Schindler, GAL and a few others). I work with fire alarm systems, so I do have a legitimate use for them.
Nope my key only works Dover/TK elevators. Each company has different ones. However mine does fit all late 1990's-2000's model dovers. I got the key due to my job. This is the only one we have. The local elevator service company here is Thyssen Krupp so that is the only reason that we have that key.
what does bypass do I always wondered that does fire service work if theres a fire because of the famous rule in case of fire do not use elevator use stairs
Where can a normal everyday person like me get one of these keys? If I cant buy the key where can I get the key number for my city to give my locksmith?
