You can just order the Ujoints and replace them. Cut them off with a angle grinder, then take a dremel and grind down the stacked edges, the slip on new ujoint caps and lock down with C clips

I was told that my drive shaft is sitting on top of my exhaust and I need to get a drive shaft holder. Is that for the front or the back. Please advise
Might be a couple things, if you can look under check your oil filter, oil filter housing, knock sensor and your valve cover if it's oil, if it's coolant check your heater core hoses and if it's transmission fluid the seals on the axles might be shot
awesome thanks for all the bolt sizes. What made you decide to change it? I'm getting a whirring noise after replacing all wheel bearings and brakes and am starting to think it's maybe that middle bearing holding up the shaft
If I remember correctly I had a clunking sound and when I inspected it I noticed the U joints were shot, the carrier bearing can be easy to replace but you'd probably be better off replacing the driveshaft at that point if it's cheap enough
@@91eduardoski yeah it's more cost effective to replace the whole thing. I'm gonna take it off this weekend and see if it's the cause of the noise, thanks
@Panther 75 ended up selling the car last year after 2nd gear started crunching, but no I never ended up finding anything to do with the cause of the noise. I'm guessing it was maybe the tires? Drove perfect apart from that. I'll miss that little truck!
@Panther 75 by the end I had replaced all the shocks, bearings, suspension bits and pieces, cv axles, driveshaft, got another alignment, same noise. Some people on my crv forum attributed it to lack of cabin insulation
I had recently purchased a AWD crv 98 The guy said it was only FWD currently Becuase something about the drive train.. I don’t exactly remember what he said. What do I need to add or replace to make it AWD again.. thank you
Did you have any issues with that center support bearing not reaching the holes to re bolt it back up? I've measured and my new one is the same length as the stock one but I can't get it to reach...

Sorry for the late response, were you able to get the center bracket to line up? If not I recommend bolting that bracket up first and then mount the bolts for both front and rear flange
I know it may sound dumb but make sure your parking brake isn't set, if automatic try rotating the wheels see if it turns the transfer case to help you line it up, or the same with a manual

Did you have to get it balanced after doing the replacement? I was reading up on it and apparently you’re supposed to get a drive shaft balance but that adds like 500-700 to the total repair cost
@@ezbgame2956 is yours automatic or manual? Have you done other work besides the driveshaft? Sounds like it's something not related to the driveshaft since that only spins when driving
@@91eduardoski thanks for the reply I'm going to order one right now, I bought a 99 crv and the guy pulled a fast one and sold it to me without a fucking driveshaft and the worst part is that it took me 2 weeks to realize it was only fwd lmao

Waste of video didn't show how to take prop shaft off or how to stop it spinning or turning whilst trying to loosen the nuts as the prop shaft just turns.
