Hi so I live currently in dallas tx. The temp is over 100 degrees here and my blower quit working. Your video literally saved my life. I can't tolerate heat for long due to a heap of assorted ailments and I certainly can't afford to pay a shop. Your video made it super easy. I did it myself with no worries just by copying you. I can't thank you enough.
Thank you for the great video, I am going to do this replacement on my own thanks to the faith and encouragement from the gal working at O'Reilly, and your video.
@@LonnieJohnson1 I did it!! I only needed to take out the glove box. I was able to get to everything from underneath and through the glove box. Found and changed the cabin filter too😍 Thank you again!
Well I did the repair based on the steps outlined in this video and I'm happy to report, everything went according to plan. The new blower I got from 1A auto isn't as quiet as the original, but it doesn't have the squealing anymore. You do get what you pay for on certain aftermarket parts.
This is so awesome! I have 1998 RAV4 that has paperclips or paper or something that fell in from the dash... when I run it on high it vibrates loudly like something is hitting the fan. wondering how to get that motor out to clean the fan. thanks for sharing. :)
I bought a new blower replacement for my 2000 Toyota RAV4 and it worked perfectly for a day but now I can’t hear it running anymore once again. Any thoughts on what could be the problem?
@@LonnieJohnson1 the reason your video was successful was you stuck to the accurate steps of the replacement. You demonstrated in sequence what needed to be done, only giving tips how to make the change as simple as possible. No wordy conversation outside of the viewer following well explained step by step instructions. I appreciate your direct approach in TEACHING how to DO IT THE RIGHT WAY. BY OMITTING PERSONAL BABBLE, I WAS LISTENING WITH BATED BREATH. Thanks for being an excellent teacher.
Thanks...the trim had to come off to get the side cover off because the side cover was in my way and I didn't want to damage it. The lower dash also had to be pulled out for clearance to keep from cracking or breaking it.
@@LonnieJohnson1 Yeah sorry i got mixed up because mine is wright hand drive and i must of thought you were taking the other side panels off, i did mine after watching you and there was a dead mouse in it which would you believe was making the whole dash vibrate, cheers for the reply and take care
@@LonnieJohnson1 Yeah live in the country so there are plenty around but the car was stud for two years, the mice chew threw the intake filter and must gain access to the blower that way, cheers pal
No, I pulled it out and connected a 12v lead to it to see if it would work and it did so I put it back in. My guess is that it had to be the fan speed controller or resistor, I never got a chance to check any further because it was involved in an accident and totaled.
What type and size of bit do I need for the screws? They look to be star bits. Can you please tell me what tools I will need to replace the blower motor
Ok so i have to do this but i ve never used a drill so what kind of drill and where do i get t25 thingy? And where is resistor and cabin filter plz????
I have looked for the fuse and I found the blower motor relay and it could be # 35 or 36 but not sure because it's not telling me blower fan just fan, the best way to check it would be to pull the plug on the blower and use a multi meter to be sure. The key might have to be turned on.
Hi mate my cabin filter is full of rats shit and brings bad smell in my car but since the car doesn’t have one I was thinking of taking the whole blower compartment and pressure wash it how can I archive it?
I have looked through the manual and on the internet for information, I have also looked inside my Rave4 and I can't find any kind of cabin filter. I have never looked or replaced a cabin filter in my Rav4. I don't think this Rav4 has one...but I'm not 100% sure; I just can't find it if it has one. I do know that the newer Rav4's have them.
