I’m getting a 2001 Saab 9-3 Turbo soon. I’m excited

I love how you let it "boot up" first before starting it. I do that to all my cars as it seems to be easier on the electrical system. I hate it when people take their key and just instantly turn it over to start without letting the computer try and figure things out.

I had this same car only Cayenne Red and the 5 speed for 9 years. This is the base version, and as lots of nice features. A great car and really fun to drive. Great winter car even with All Seasons. It looked great when I sold it to get a new 2009 9-3 Aero XWD as I was worried that Saab was done. I miss the hatch. Definitely recommend this car.

Cloth seats in a Saab is totally rare.

I have the 1999 model of this car in a 5 speed manual, and it's awesome! :D Control panel is going out on me though, and the left headlight wiper is stuck in the up position; but beside all of that, it's a great car! :)

Nice video. It kinda seemed you didn't know the car well. The Saabs in my garage all have huge ass turbos. Garage: 1997 900SE 4cyl 2.0t, Polk 3.5", Ken 6.5"&6x9", Ken 8103D powering 2 12" Alpine SWE-1243's 2002 9-5 Aero 4 cylinder, turbocharged DOHC 2007 9-3 Aero 2.8L V6 Turbo Bose SRS w/o Nav They all have amazingly large trunks. Substantial passenger room and the ability to tweak them how you want. The best thing is you barely have to leave your hands from the wheel to control things.

I recently bought a SAAB 9-5 2002 and of course the SID was malfunctioning. What I did was that I purchased a silver ribbon cable to replace, but my lack of skills made it unbarable so I simply ordered a used one without pixel error online. It was a total cost of about $120 with shipping. But I live in Sweden so you better look in to what is the cheepest/ best solution is for you. The most important thing is chcking which version (SID) you have. Not just SID1, SID2, but SW, EOL SET Version. :D

@cffeekid it has a turbocharger. turbochargers force air into the intake and run off of the vehicles exhaust. turbochargers deliver more horsepower than a naturally aspirated( non-turbo) engine, because of the extra oxygen the turbocharger forces into the engine.

i wouldve like it if you could explain what all the buttons do :P I just got this car and i have NO idea what half those buttons are... :(

ive got cream leather off course , and manual gearbox.. when i buy it i had 114.000 miles. now its 116..000 :)

for your info. all swedish cars have heated seats as standard, even on bottom trim levels. this inc all saabs and volvo. because of the swedish climate.

Very fast car. Mine got stolen and the person outran the police easily on 2 different occasions. Sadly they blew up the motor due to being bad at driving standards before being detained.

That's just my opinion on them, although they are cool if you don't have to sacrifice for eating & or doing something else while giving every single moment that could be very well used for something besides your car, go ahead. Also they're not very gas-savingly convenient in the burbs or in the city. But everyone just has to have em' anyway lol.

Saab are alright long as have the automatic transmission, the stick shift is really bad. I know, im from sweden, there are very usual cars, and the manual gearbox is actualy too weak for the power of the tubro engine.

indeed, "but its more economic" all it dous is get rid of the shifting. unless it has more "gears" the ratios are about the same

I believe all high-end luxury vehicles today have leather seats instead of cloth seats.

Automatics are soo much more convenient & also even more expensive, if you aren't concerned w/ a slightly louder vehic, saving 1mpg on the Highway & or racing, who even gives 1 single fuck.

Some people say automatic is for lazy drivers that are too lazy to shift while driving. i prefer manual. but for automatic fanboys, i wouldn't argue about automatic and manual.

So what you are saying is that, the auto breaksdown too? I don't know anything about the auto because most of the car here are manual. But I know that the manual sux balls. The manual can't last for more than 135 000 MILES.

@aikmanson Saab is know for making bad gearboxes. They are weak. I guess they last with original engine, but even with a chip-tuning, they can collapse more easily. With higher stage of tuning the gearbox is a issue. But im not saying its all junk. But atleast here "old" saabs are pretty cheap because of their gearboxes.
