I love the tangent of him not knowing why his remote is not picking up on his inputs. But he takes a good one min break in every vid to try and break his remote.
So I can't tell if he really doesn't know that the success of a splitter is determined by how hard you swing the wii-mote. The entire challenge of pitching good splitters is pitching them hard enough to get your opponent to swing, but not so hard that you fail to drop it at the plate, i.e. throw a wimpy fastball. I think the misconception about it being an rng thing is due to the latent unpredictablility of the hardware, as in the wii-mote isn't always great at accurately representing it's true motion to the software, especially in cases where you're trying to apply a specific velocity of swing.
on one of my old wii's, I got a mii up to skill level 2000 on tennis, but the only opponent after going pro was Elisa and Sarah, so I just repeatedly did single-point games for hours. There's even a really bad video on my channel about it. I hate it, don't watch it.
FYI: Splitters lead to a "Ball" if the batter doesn't swing. Sometimes the pitcher can accidentally throw a fastball instead of a splitter, which can be easily identified when a sudden red exclamation mark appears on their head. Also, the AI especially in champions & pro status can easily predict the balls you're gonna throw so that's why it's important to differ between throwing styles.
I thought the exclamation point comes up if the game doesn’t read the pitch correctly like if you throw a splitter but let go of the button instead of holding it?
@@gamerfan5878 Nah it has nothing to do with anything you can do. It's strictly random for player pitchers to mess up a splitter. CPU pitchers only start to "throw exclamation points" as Poof puts it when they're tired. It's an extremely frustrating mechanic. It's extremely punishing but there's no way to predict or avoid it.
I love how he's played this game for so long, yet still doesn't understand that the exclamation point on the splitter is RNG. If you throw it too often, you are going to get burned. The game devs knew what they were doing. They know the splitter is an OP pitch. Against higher level CPUs, I very rarely throw it. Maybe 15% of the time at most. The best way to pitch the high-level CPUs is to throw a lot of curves and splitters off the plate to get them to hopefully hit a weak grounder/popup, and mix in a fastball/splitter every so often at varying speeds. That all said, there are some innings where the CPU goes into "God mode" and will not swing at any balls whatsoever, forcing you to throw strikes, which they obliterate.
6:53 i definitely understand the frustration. But that was a perfectly timed mistake and thats what makes that so funny 😂. I feel your pain ive done the same thing too !
NOOOOOO POOOF!!!! STOP BLAMING THE WII REMOTE. You cannot control whether or not you throw an exclamation point or not. It’s completely random!!! I hold A and B as well and it happens. It’s not you or the remotes fault. It’s RNG
if the exclamation point appears that means the game registered the splitter but by random chance decided to make it a “hanger” that doesn’t break and instead gets registered as a fastball. i always thought it had a higher chance to fail the harder you threw it but his were all minimum velocity, so he just got incredibly unlucky in this video i think
Poofesure, I've been watching Your videos for a long time. And One of my favorite games to see You play is Wii Sports. Especially Baseball. I am so proud of You Man!!!!! Congratulations on reaching 2000 on Wii Sports baseball!!!!! 👊😎🤘
Holy shit, i fell off from watching you dur to taking care of business irl (i am sad and do not have a life *pls kill me* ) But its nice to see how far youve come in this 14 year old game.
Does Poof know that the exclmation mark is a random chance that screws over your pitch? Like, bro gets so upset when it happens and act's like his Mii is slow, lol. Edit: Nevermind, he actually looked it up this time, lol.
Congratulations on reaching the goal poof, 2000 skill points is now yours Great video, and that wii remote has served proudly on the frontline of wii sports baseball In all seriousness you need a wii remote hall of fame, this one being the first addition because of how durable it is
Yo, Poofesure, any plans on doing another run of Biif Remote and Bunchuck bundles? Kinda wanna get a set but they're sold out on your site, and there are none on ebay. Much love even if not, because your vids never fail to put me in a better mood. Keep up the good work, dude!
Honestly don't really understand why poof gets so mad about pitching exclamation marks, it's a completely random feature if you throw a splitter, it's part of the risk of throwing a splitter.
