I love those things when they run. You absolutely cannot beat the comfortable driving position and intuitive controls. Plus the 5 cylinder noise is just pure pleasure.
I owned a black P1 V70R 2WD and also a flash green / atacama P2 'R' ( i saw the sonic blue one in this vid.) which i sold recently. I think i preferred the P1, same interior as this, everything was simple to operate. I always felt the P2 was a pretty complex machine in comparison and was a large bill waiting to happen, i mean even a simple headlight bulb replacement was a major operation!!! Merry Christmas from Edinburgh Scotland
I have a 2000 V70R in black, it has the sand colored alcantara. I have not been able to find production numbers, or actual numbers of how many came to the US, even from Volvo themselves. I've found that it's supposedly less than 500 in the US or North America and that the sand colored alcantara is rare, but I can't find any actual numbers.
@daniel erickson I was watching a RU-vid clip and I heard they only brought 1400 over to America. If that's true I'm really surprised, I live in England and they are very easy to buy, loads on ebay too. I bought a 2003 V70 diesel, the torque and shift in these cars are insane! Bought it from a 2nd hand garage, he had at least 6 or 7 others for sale, mostly diesel but one or two petrol. Around the £1800 up to £2500 mark I'd say with average mileage on them. A big garage with over 120 cars for sale, almost any type of European car you can think of he's got
