This 2001 Miami team was the greatest college football team ever assembled. They would beat the breaks off of any of these bums in today's game. Even Georgia.
I was at this game unfortunately as an FSU fan but I am glad I got to see one of the greatest college teams of all-time. I graduated from FSU in 2000. These were the "good old days" of this rivalry. My favorite rivalry game in college football. A mutual respect to both teams.
I often wonder how different Ken Dorsey's career in the NFL would've been had he been drafted by a good team like Denver, New England, Pittsburg, etc. The guy had great mechanics, was super smart and a tremendous leader.
I’m not gonna be as rude as these other guys but eh Dorsey really had no athleticism, below average feet, below average arm strength, decent accuracy. As far as the NFL goes I don’t think teams viewed him as having much to offer
He had shifty mechanics and often threw of his back foot and across his body. He was smart and like you said a solid leader but he would never have made it in the league as a starter. He’s a great offensive mind and will eventually be a head coach in the NFL (he’s the OC for the Bills).
This was probably the best college football team I’ve ever seen, until LSU a couple years ago. I think that would be the best game of the last 25 years.
They compared our 2019 team to this Canes team but I’ll tell everybody that they would murder us lol. I miss these uniforms too. Those Adidas uniforms don’t look right.
Chris Rix man............😢😢😢 he had some big moments in FSU history but he also had games like this.....the reality is he should've never started a snap at Florida State.
Because during that time period in college football, the state of Florida just had more speed and athleticism than the rest of the nation and still does. The difference now is that teams like Alabama, UGA, Clemson and OSU recruit the state of Florida. Back then, most of these kids stayed in state and played for the Big 3. That's why the 90's was dominated by Miami, FSU and UF. The only other program was Nebraska and their star player (Tommie Frazier) was from Bradenton, FL.
Fun game to watch, especially w/o commercials and in between plays but these refs were way over the top all game long calling anything and everything they possibly could. As usual, the zebras want to be the stars of the game.
I know he went 0-5 vs Miami but I have the utmost respect for Chris Rix. The dude got smoked by us over and over and kept coming. He threw some of the worst picks I've ever seen but he was a tough dude.
@@jordanhutton5787 if 02 team is top 5 all time why couldn't they get ball in from 1-yard in 3 tries 😤 in 2nd OT of Fiesta Bowl/Championship Game? 🙄 Maybe 79 Ohio State team deserves a top 10 of all time placement after a similar failure against USC in Rose Bowl.
@@nathaniellathy6559 Because that's football. I'm a Buckeye fan through and through but that team was historically good(and dominant) but they ran into a buzzsaw in OSU in Tempe.
@@rq5304 no. The buckeyes did. It was pass interference. And if you really watch that game, Miami got a TON of calls throughout. Probably should’ve never even been in OT. And - again - Miami has never been the same since…Go Bucks.🇺🇸🦅
@@brutussmithers3777 live that lie if you want a blind man saw that wasnt pass int. Espn, coaches, analyst etc even the REF who called it apologized to Miami. Go back and look at the box score we kicked your ass up and down the field more rushing and passing yards we lost the game turning the ball over near the redzone over and over . You needed us to beat ourselves plus a fake pass int in squeak by a OT win lololol . That game gets played 10 times you ohio wins 1 and you got that one in a million win 👏 .
