47yr old woman here..your video was easy to follow and saved me $$$ by doing it myself! (I’ve changed out the door handle twice now but was scared to tackle the actuator). Thank you!!!!
Thank you Oscar for taking the time to show others how to do this. I just finished mine and was really thankful for your guide. It was a “bad boy” but not really hard to do. Now I’ve replaced both the latch handle and the lock! I wonder what will break next on my beloved truck! God bless.
Replacing both of them too. Have been dreading doing this all day because of how tight of a space this was. Oscar made it look super easy and gave me the confidence to do it
Were you hanging upside down in a wind tunnel when you recorded this thing? But..15 minutes in...exactly what i was looking for how to get that cover off...thx much guy.
Thanks for the video, I have replaced the door handle already and still broken. Do you have a how to on the rear lift gate window track? I have not been able to find a video to help me.
Oscar, I was able to take things apart and I replaced my lock actuator. However, I still had to replace the door latch handle so I didn't finish putting everything back together because it was getting late. I closed the rear door for the night and it locked. But now I can't get it to unlock and release. I removed the cables from the lock actuator and removed the black plastic cover and I can fully see the door actuator function. I can manually pull the cable and it moves the lever and resets with the spring, but still can't get it to open. Any advise, short of cutting the bar the lock actuator connects to? Desperate on this one.
Best advise I can give you is try using a flat head screwdriver and since you took the cable off the handle latch try prying it all the way as if your trying to unlock the hatch
Hi Oscar. I already change the handle and I can open my rear door but the door doesn’t lock when I locked my car. What I should do to fix this problem. Thanks
have the same problem, replaced the actuator but now it wont lock. I suspect it's to do with the non OEM handle. I'm going to put the old OEM handle back on and see if that works, I think it's got something to do with the cable being too tight
The problem is the cable not long enough , you have bent the connection part a little bit , I have the same issue with the after market part , but finally I finger it out
@Daisy Walks by Faith you don’t have to buy a new cable , just bent the cable connection part a little back to the cable side to make the cable a little long to lock it . I wish I have a picture what I am talking about . Maybe new cable a little longer , I doubt it
I have the same issue , but I find the problem , the problem is the cable , not long enough to keep the lock ! If you need more help , pm me I will help you out
@@ruiwu3604 As you said it may be the cable, in any event I got tired of messing with it and I fed the cable through a pre-existing hole under license plate, I'm guessing the hole was put there by the previous owner who over the years had the same sort of issue. Working fine now, just have to pull on the end of the cable to unlatch, no big deal.
