Part 2. • 2001 Cadillac Deville ...
I bought this car from State Wide Wrecker service in Lithonia, Ga. 2017 for $375. I knew at the time the transmission was bad. I paid a shop $2,980 to rebuild the transmission. I had planned to do a road trip to New York for the 2018 International Auto Show. I didn't drive it because it smelled. I had the carpet cleaned but after the perfume went away. The car was still smelly. I had to do a lot of work for this car to drive well. I had to replace the brake pads and rotors front and back. I had to replace the front struts and rear air shocks. It has always had a weak head gasket. It would run fine for a month and then over heat for a week. I never tried to use block sealant because I know from being around cars all my life. Block sealant is 100% Bull Trump Shook. Every dime I spent on this car has been repaid by the videos I've uploaded to youtube. This car has many fans and I think I should fix it.

I wish I was as good a mechanic as you are Black F-165. I paid a Kawasaki dealership $875 to change my plugs, coolant change and a new air filter. You would have done it all yourself. The ZX-14R runs like a beast, though.

Have you seen where I pulled the engine out?

I recommend changing your starter if you are going to be doing this. It’s in a weird spot under the intake manifold
@blackericdenice

I did only because it was sticking to the flywheel

Same here, glad the issues are that consistent atleast. Big fire hazard when the starter is sticking

@@calebreckerd I fixed the over heating problem but the engine is smoking because the cylinders are bad.

Headlights appear a bit hazy, check out some videos of renewing them using 2k acrylic urethane clear coat spray cans, people often just sand and polish without clearcoat and although it will look better it won’t have any gloss to it and it will end up getting hazy again, sanding down and throwing clear coat gives it that real gloss and protection, aftermarket headlight assemblies usually either suck or are very expensive but a few cans of clear coat and sandpaper is a fair price to pay.

Are you gonna pull the engine out the top? What kind of fix are you going to use? Time serts or studs?
@blackericdenice

I'm going to try to pull it from the top. I'm going to use Felpro bolts.

@@blackericdenice Gotcha. There’s a shop nearby where I live here in Los Angeles that pulls every engine out the top as well. I’ve got them lined up if my head gasket ever gives me any more issues in the future. For now my cars been running fine after installing the Thermalweld which includes their extra purge line 11 months ago. Funny thing is my car will fail the block test as the blue juice turns a shade of green, but that extra purge line that Thermalweld includes as part of the package prevents the Northstar from running hot. You’re essentially running 2 purge valves. The 2nd one runs straight out the top of the radiator hose and is much wider and more efficient than the original purge line ever was from the factory. Completely symptom free. *knock on wood*

My Tahoe was the last one back in 2016. My first one was in 1987 when I was 16 and I bought a 1976 Pontiac Astre for $50.
