So here in Ohio we dont have emission checks or anything like that. My 01 DeVille DTS has 118k on it and sat for a long time. Im not sure whats wrong with it except horrible subframe. It sounds like a belt running bad, but both belts are fine. Ive changed coil packs, and sparkplugs too. Ive not tried pushing the engine out of worry something will happen, but it drives and doesnt seem to misfire.
I have a question my 2001 deville has 67,000 miles and I have the check coolent and washer fluid but think those are bcs it got hit in the front an the sensor don’t work bcs it’s still full and don’t over heat
Yes I'm going to fix it. I had to fix my Golf driver door latch and change the diff oil in my F165. Ford charged me $60 for two quarts of Motorcraft full synthetic oil. Both videos are coming.
Nothing rides like a Cadillac...that being said some of the head bolt and gasket issues are extremely expensive to fix. The Town Car's with the air suspension ride almost as well as a Caddy and are much easier to perform maintenance...that being said they aren't as quiet as the Cadillac and dom't have as much power. Such difficult choices.
I have a 2002 cadillac deville and crazy thing is i been having the same issue with the check coolant level light for 4 years now. I wanna say i put in roughly 80,000 miles in it and that check coolant level comes on about 10 seconds after i crank the car. In your opinion can these 2002 deville cars be driven that dam long with a blown head gasket? I thought a blown head gasket would be puffing white smoke bad from tail pipe like my 2003 toyota corolla does with it blown 🤔
I put 20k miles on my car before I was unable to drive it. It depends on how the head gasket blow weather or not you get white smoke. I never got white smoke. My engine would pump coolant out the tank. After 6 years, my engine started to misfire so bad. It won't pass emission. I have a 2000 Seville I have a overheating problem now when I crank the car it not even 7 minutes into the drive my temp hand immediately reaches the middle after 10 to 12 minutes it starts to get overheated and when I turn the car off the bubbles start and the coolant/water leaks out the top I kinda wanna say it's my Radiator cap or the hose may be clogged up but I do see the white smoke from my exhaust I don't have a catalytic converter I'm running straight pipe but I still see the smoke I wanna try that bars leak for head gasket but I'm not so sure imma start cheap first to find the solution if not I do know it's a hefty fix for something so small but what's your opinion
@@blackericdeniceits not running hot. Man i tell you the craziest thing just happen. Last week i had the harmonic balancer put on as well as the 4 motor mounts. Soon as i started the car at the mechanic shop the low oil pressure stop engine came on the dash. Its a bad knocking noise coming from the engine though. It was just a coincidence that happened because i been having a bad oil leak on the car for about 4 years now. Think im just gonna scrap it. Dont no mechanics wanna work on the northstar engines down here in Texas
@@blackericdenice im sure gonna miss my baby though. Been having it for 7 years now. But the engine is knocking and i think i gotta let it go 😞. Was in love with it the very first day i laid eyes on it and bought it then cruised it. But i done spent the most on parts and labor out of all the cars I ever owned. The oil leak I had was bad. First I had to add a quart every 3 weeks. Then about 2 years later it was a quart every 2 weeks. Finally at its last stage it was a quart every 5 days. Im gonna scrap it. The mechanic would raise it up and it was always really wet on the oil pan and other parts of the car like it would splatter everywhere. Told myself i would ride it till the wheels fall off. Guess i did just that
@@timothybowens8896As long as I'm able to work on my Deville. I will keep it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BDQD8Aamhu4.htmlsi=dlZVybhEWt0tFO4u
No shop in Atlanta wanted to fix my car. They all said to buy a newer car. I'm fixing it myself. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BDQD8Aamhu4.htmlsi=mL_HorKse-6L8anR
the coolant tank sensor is under the tank engine side probably its faulty and need to be replaced and you can disconnect reconnect it if you want to reset the reading 🤝🏻
@@blackericdenice Mines is saying check Coolant level not low coolant level does it mean the samething. I have a 2001 cadillac seville s.t.s. 4.6L northstar 118,211k miles it ran hot on me in 2022 Summertime I had it checked by a G.M. certified mechanic I was told i didn't damage the engine he came to the conclusion that my fans do not work & i'm not getting any white smoke? What should I do The mechanic told me to get the fans working i noticed when it ran hot that one time the fans were not working at all the fans don't work i know its 3 relays up under the radiator the mechanic also told me to get a new thermostat, water-pump, radiator, & reservoir recovery tank & coolant level sensor I have everything except the radiator & reservoir but I haven't got any work done on it yet it has been sitting since July, August 2022. Help!

I have two DeVilles I really love them regardless of what they are know for I have a 2001 and a 2003 I wish you could give me some advice on mine both are running rough and neither one has milky oil on dipstick I just bought both of them within the last 4 months
My 01 I just got it a couple of days ago haven't did any major research on it but I did check after looking at your channel how to tell if you have a blown head gasket on Northstar engines both are showing on display (check coolant level) my 03 I just reason put some not so high price spark plugs in it and I think it gave alittle better acceleration and it was smoking out exhaust it cut that down to almost non if any
@@blackericdenice my 01 the battery was dead when I bought it and it still is I just use a jump box to start it I was told before purchase on the 01 it hadn't ran hot but once I got it in my possession I could see it looked like it did I don't know how bad I could see the white spots around reservoir my 03 when I bought it I was told it did run hot it was so poorly taken care of and man the way you were spinning the tires on that White Cadillac DeVille priceless I really want both of mine to run with that kinda power just wats original
@@clintonrand9580 I put cheap plugs in my car also. It will not run any better with high $ plugs. Yes they will last longer but my engine needed a head gasket then. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tPS4yceFbBA.html
@@blackericdenice awe man, i think I can do it without pulling the engine. I'm getting old the last head job I did was. 20 years ago! I had my husband's old Pontiac held together with JB weld .
My 2001 Deville has that message come on a few moments after I start my engine; but I know its just a faulty coolant reservoir sensor. Funny thing is, it didn’t start until after I had a coolant service done at my local GM dealership back in 2020. The temperature never gets above the 4th bar; and that’s in this Las Vegas heat! I’ll probably buy a new reservoir soon, but I know my head gaskets are fine. I see the ZX14R in the background; I’m a rider too! Stay safe out there, and enjoy!!😃
Lol that's ridiculous if you have a blown head gasket your car will do 1 of two things smoke a lot white smoke or either blow coolant bout of reservoir either one or could do both
