I bought a brand new 01 CR250 & had a 98 KX250 before I bought the Honda. I think MXA had the Yamaha 1st, Honda 2nd and KX 3rd. Transworld had the Honda 1st. The 01 CR250 was the most powerful machine in 01. The handling was good & the bike was capable of blistering lap times. But you had to work hard for it, & it wore you out. The motor had no low end but would rip your arms out of the sockets when the powerband hit, it vibrated, and the frame was unforgiving. By 01 the KX lost some of the magic that made the 98 KX 250 bike of the year. The handling, suspension and extremely fast engine that made most of its power in very low RPMs made the 96, 97 & 98 KX 250's legendary.

Makes me want to buy a 2 stroke. Great vlog

I don’t think that cr is an 01, the power valve is on the left and the frame doesn’t match is it an 02??

i used to thrash around on kx250 2001 mainly in fields and lanes . the front wheel wouldn't stay down half the time the power band was too extreme really for field cornering . but on a motocross track it was good fun but still scary

I am kinda getting tired of Honda’s the YZ 2 stroke sure looks nice who know what is on Eli Tomacs 450 4 stroke he really makes that thing move I would love to see him on a CR 500 2 stroke and watch him with that power band kicked in. I was really getting into the 2 stroke scene when out came the the CR 500 in 85 and zI totally feel for the 1986 Cr 250 R and knew a pro Racer that rode a CR 500 beautiful machines we use to go to sand mountain and watch those 86 CR 500 with a paddle tire wheelie up the face of sand mountain a few years later I bought an 1986 YZ 250 which they had completely re done the bike( not much on the motor it had a strong motor in 85 but thevrest of the bike needed some help so in 86 Yamaha did right. No one could beat the 86 Honda though ranked 1 but Yamaha 4 out of the top 5 magazines picked the 86 YZ # 2 bike that yess as r and I loved my bike my best friend bought one just like it but his had been bored out and was a little quicker but mine was better looking.
