After Efren won it, we all went to a late night dinner with Efren, Bustmante and Mike LeBron. Then the day after, we saw them at Hard Times before their late night flight back to the Philippines. Bustamante had food poisoning from the late night dinner .
Sometimes I wish I could reach through my screen and slap the commentators, especially when they say crap like "I don't know why Reyes played the balls the way he did" even though Reyes is a much better player than both of them combined and every shot was set up perfect for the next ball and he ended up running the rack out. There's a reason why he is on the table playing and you are in a booth talking about the match.
Thanks for another Classic remastered match Accu-Stats these classic matches are a gem for us New School guy's 👍🏼💯 thanks a million.. and in it's entirety 👍🏼
You do realize that he's thinking about his plan // the reliability of it ... and so that time spent chalking (if omitted) would not in the least accelerate the play. But, when the most you've ever played for is the 4 quarters you need to play a game ... you wouldn't really know about pressure, would you ...?
@@trumanhw Yes, he was thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking about it. And btw, you have no idea how much I play or who I am and to say what you said to me only proves that you are a jackass and enjoy being one.
I didn't question the foul on Efrin in game 4 but when afterwards they mention of controversy..I went back and watched it...once...no slow mo...and the hit was legal... clearly .
I just don’t like commentators arguing all the time. I don’t look to see who can guess what will be played. Comment on what was played. I get aggravated with the bickering. Ugh!!!
Don't get me wrong because Billy Incardona is one of my favorite announcers of all time, but this man just won against Efren, and in the interview billion cardona is arguing with this man to prove his point..... He won. Love the commentating Billy!
The lag was NOT Questionable. Been around aircraft for 40yrs and can tell at a glance the difference between .030" and .040". Reyes won the lag, period. Love to hear these guys rattle on, now twenty years later and Efren has retired and been accused of being one of the best players that ever lived but as far as the commentators are concerned, he made another tactical error. The real entertainment is watching the spike headed near sighted spaceman that is refereeing this match.
He laughed OUTSIDE. Inside, he was probably dying and scolding himself, pretty sure. I've never seen a pro that really thinks it's funny when he does something stupid at a pool 101 level, and it happens to the best of them. Truly a game of millimeters, sometimes.
man efrin was twerking at the beginning , love the commentary with the older gentleman , been in to pool a long time and these videos are heartwarming thanks accu stats merry christmas🎅🌲
I appreciate the upload of this great match. In spite of Incardona's constant poor shot predictions, butchering the English language, and incessant babbling, I enjoyed some great pool.
I love how these announcers argue about what shot or what series of shots each player is going to take next and they were wrong about 50% of the time. Lol.
Thank you! I was thinking the same. Saying every shot was the wrong shot, because it's not what they guessed. And the interview at the end is criiinnnggyyy
@@robbone4thank you to both of you. That was the most annoyed I've ever been watching a match. I wish I would have just muted it and then they bickered and argued the whole time about what the right order to run the table out is. Over and over.
Trillions like and best comment for you because you are best on Earth and follower respect you,we need videos in Real 120fps or 240fps 4K,8K and Sound in FullHD Surrounded
That commentator Said that Efren did not play 3 shots ahead but if he did, we should bar Efren from Pool. We should bar that stupid commentator. I have heard him call the wrong shot at least 50 times every time he's commentating. At THE 29 MIN MARK Play this in slow motion. Efren hit the 5 ball before the 13. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!! . If someone could amplify that shot in slow motion, I know it's too late now but it would be interesting to see what ball was hit first or is there an advantage to calling a foul on Efren for the ref. Just thinking :o)) I'm certain that commentator doesn't play pool :o))
Efren the magicians only humans sometimes the runner stumbles . at the end of the day , he was the greatest pool player that ever walked on the face of the earth .
Is likely, but will "always will be"? Not even remotely likely. There is always a next Efren, Tiger Woods, Mark Spitz, Scotty Hamilton, Dick Fosbury, Roger Bannister, and hundreds of others. Many many 'somebody elses' will arise that will push the game to an entirely new level, just as he (and the other Fillipinos, Busty, Pag, etc) did in the kick safing area. The Chinese seem to be becoming the new FIlipinos presently, and guys like Ko are shooting at tremendous levels of capabilities. Efren is/was one special dude though, no question, my favorite to watch, even now, but unfortunately now pretty much limited to one pocket, it seems, at least at pinnacle level. We all get older. And I agree he is practically the definition of 'class act' as he demonstrated here multiple times.
@@MrJdsenior sir, that is VERY unlikely, simply because Efran can SEE the lines the ball will travel on the table IN HIS HEAD, ..BEFORE the cueball is struck...I'm 73, and I've seen them ALL, played pool myself since the age of 14, and NOBODY has ever had his mathematical ability, his shot-making ability, AND if you combine all that with his Experience, (he's been playing since he was 6-7 years old, and LIVED in a pool parlor), ....it is HIGHLY unlikely that it will ever happen again...
My comment from above : I turned the sound off while watching because the 2 commentators non stop continuous talking about what a player should or should not do became a real annoyance / they should cut their comments down by a full 75 or 80 per cent . And after the match during the interview the non stop you should of could of done this instead of that motor mouth scenario continued non stop . Very annoying .
Omg thank you. I considered turning the volume off because they were so annoying. They were wrong so many times over and over and then bickering back and forth about what is the best route for him to take to run out l? And then they would argue about that. That was the most annoying match I've ever watched. I wish I did turn the volume down because it was hard concentrating on the match. They were horrible.
Commentators are annoying. "I would shoot this. I would have shot that. He Shouldn't have shot that. He could have done this. He will do ..................................".
"Prove those n wins for Efren weren't a fluke" WTH, what kind of nonsensical statement was that????? Good point on the lag. When you make the number of mistakes these pros make in a typical match ANY lack of any aspect of the game is damaging. You don't have to freeze eye contact on the object ball, some pros hit with their eyes on the cue ball. Matter of choice. And I've seen people make VERY high runs with their eyes totally closed on every shot, so there's that. "...let Efren get momentum and you are in trouble". No kidding, if you are playing him, you are probably in trouble from the get go, and I've seen him come from WAYY behind many times, so often he doesn't even need momentum, at least not out front. I had to laugh when the commentator said "see, the balls really spread out" during an Efren break, which was DRY, to support his "Efren has a good break" point. A dry break is not a good break, it's the absolute worst, and the LAST thing you want on a dry break is the balls spread WELL, not that you can do much about it. Most pros don't try to 'break safe" except always in one pocket, and occasionally in straight pool, if no pocketable ball is available. It was like, well, I made the comment, now how do I salvage it here. Also that table was not remotely well spread, there were at least semi problematic balls in multiple areas. If I made that break, I would NOT consider it one of my good ones, and compared to Reyes, or any pro, I absolutely SUCK at the game. LOL I totally agree with the playing in the Philippines comment, a rather astute observation, and I've thought of it before watching Filipino games, where tables are open environment, people are honking horns ALL the time during games, loud motorcycles are driving by, spectators are moving around and yelling out bets and throwing hands around, even when players are down on the first shots, etc. I laugh when some player, like Strickland, complains when some VERY minor thing happens which he claims distracted him...what a bunch of nonsense. I've found when you are in the zone, what happens around you is most often of very little consequence. Somebody doing something REALLY inconsiderate, like walking across your shot two feet away from the table at back swing, now THAT I can see hosing you up. And compared to Strickland, some of the snooker players are absolutely ridiculous about it. "Well he's not going to do it that way" LOL Dumb pro, I guess. :-/ I've always noticed that commentators play PERFECT pool, from the booth, when they disagree with a pros choice. Occasionally they are proven right though, but they'll often say "see, that's why I didn't like that shot" when something completely unrelated to anything they discussed beforehand happens. It's like making perfect predictions, after the fact, not exactly impressive. Much of the commentary is pretty good though, just picking out some of the humorous stuff. As for the 'forcing Efren to execute", often when an opponent does that they later wish they hadn't, because his safety game is likely one of his strongest points, and he wins them way more often than he loses them, even against the best. That playing carom at professional level gives Efren a BIG hand up there and you see the result time after time, or he comes up with shots like that ridiculous Z he took on, that he made. The 14 the commentators called blocked...I've seen Efren make that shot multiple times, not easy, but not remotely impossible either, it involves a kick carom off the side, often slightly back, on the blocker. It did make it much harder though, no question.
These color commenters are lame. Because they don't do it their way doesn't mean it's wrong. We all see things differently. There not on the floor to feel the angles & cuts.
I really like bill incardona met him several times but it almost seems like bill is threatened by guest commentator’s view on things sometimes and I understand bill has a alpha personality but for the most part I enjoyed Tony and what he had to say sure seemed like bill didn’t

@@AccuStats Numerous other comments share my opinion concerning the commentators continuous yapping , second guessing and just talking too much . I will continue to watch further matches with sound muted whenever these commentators are on board . Great pool spoiled by annoying commentary .
wouldnt it be nice to hear commentators say how good the players are instead of constantly praising themselves saying how they would have done it . ignorants.
Billy , u are not on the table to make decisions like our guy griffis done , we will always love u mr griffis , R.I.P our friend I miss so much playing with u in phoenix az . But the lord said welcome back home Roger , God bless
@@Hujjtrog apparently using the video footage to adjudicate in this match wasn't an option. Im kind of ok with that, if that was the prior arrangement. I watch a lot of pool, Ken {the ref) has a habit of calling a foul when it wasn't and immediately picking up the cue ball.
Yeah, I gotta agree with most of the commenters, the non-stop "try-to-figure-out-what-they-will-do-next type of commenting is just annoying. If either of them had one-tenth the amount of knowledge about the game, they would know that trying to figure out what arguably the greatest pool player ever is going to do next is a complete waste of time. Can he miss? Yes. Can he get out of line? Yes. He is not perfect but he is BY FAR the best player I have ever seen. I know they have a job to do but it's just psycho-babble most of the time and they are usually wrong.
@@AccuStats And that seemed to be all that they agreed on. I don't mind that they sometimes disagree with whatever pattern Efren is going to use to get to the the 8. What bothers me is when they argue about it! Still, they're doing their job and I don't mean to criticize too harshly. Can never get enough of watching him play, win or lose. He is certainly the GOAT!
that's not a lack of respect, that's just an expression of relief and joy. very human. he also swiftly reacts to this lapse himself, turns around and shakes efrens hand. also very human.
I was referring to his comment about putting Efren on the losers side in the last tournament when asked about beating the 3x world champion. Griffis was never disrespectful!
Hello. Could someone tell me where can I buy the 8 striped ball? I have one (I bought in the USA many years ago when I visited L.A. and I live in Spain) and I want to give a present to a friend of mine. Despite of searching on the net I can not find it.
what? that wasn't a foul. the high ball would have been more forward. the fact that it went 90 degree after he hit the 5 it was a solid hit. that video should have been reviewed.
Griffis looks like Steven Seagal. But unlike Seagal, Griffis doesn't run all knees and elbows like a little girl. Well, when Seagal *used* to run. In his recent films he does a whole lot of sitting down.
@@bennyzerda haha ... a few months later and everyone agrees with me (even myself, having forgotten my previous comment. I think Scott based his ruling off that (unreliable) "rule of thumb" that if the 13 moves quickly it was a bad hit ... as if the speed it moves is adequately reliable. Funny to see people who literally cannot run 3-balls in the commentary here saying things from "efren must not like 8-Ball ... to "who's this Billy guy and why does he talk so much." ... lol.
Why isn't the sardo rack used anymore? I have never used one but I always heard announcers say it makes a perfect rack every time. I hate that new paper thin one they use. I take it off immediately after the break. It does affect the balls if they roll over it. I see guys leave it on the table the whole tournament.
It was a ridiculously over-priced gimmick that really was no better than a $5 plastic Wal Mart rack. The reason is the cloth develops dimples over time from racking and the balls will settle despite where the rack places them. The announcers always talk it up because Sardo was a sponsor. Like you, I'm not a fan of paper racks.
The commentator. They don’t call him the magician for nothing = Efren misses They don’t call him the rocket for nothing= Griffis misses (He’s got the skill )to pot all low balls without touching the high balls = Efren misses What’s wrong with this commentator
i am surprised they did not try to replay it at the time. but even then, most shots can be ruled foul or not by deduction. because it went to the right of the shot line with draw, you can deduce it billiards off the 13. if it was illegal, it will billiard off the 5 to the left.
Roger was a hulk in Pool. First person I seen wear a glove. He stood up to Efren at 11:00 am for a match, best pool I've seen. That is early for pool players.
