San Francisco and Green Bay renew their playoff rivalry for a Wild Card match at Lambeau, as Jeff Garcia's 9ers face Brett Favre's Packers in a tight one. (the German intro ends @ 3:40)
Donald Driver, Bubba Franks and Ahman Green don't get talked about enough. Driver was reliable and one o the most underrated receivers of his generation, he got better as he got older and never missed a beat. Bubba Franks was an elite TE between 2001-2005 and was Brett's security blanket, he never gets talked about enough in my opinion. Ahman Green was the best back the Packers honestly ever had and was top 3 easily before he got injured before 2005. I loved Dorsey but I understood why he had to take a back seat to Green. Green was the perfect build of fast, powerful and smart. Had a fumbling issue which was corrected in 2003. These players were just so fun to watch back then
I feel like the early 2000 Packers defenses was kind of underrated too. They were good enough to get the job done if Brett didn't average 20 something interceptions those years
As a Packers fan, I can't say thanks enough for posting. Man, do I miss Madden and Summerall, yeah Madden got a bit excited, but it was fun listening to him. Any chance you have or can get the "Monday Night Massacre" where Packers destroyed the Bears 55 -14? Thanks!
Great job coming up w/ these hard to find games. Post 1975, these still elude:2007 WC S.Diego-Tenn (only 10m version available), 1997 D SF-Minn, 1988 D SF-Minn (only YT copy=poor picture), 1986 WC NYJ-KC,1986 D Denver-NE (only 20m available), 1983 WC Sea-Denver (only 20m available),1982 1st R Wash-Det (never seen it on YT), 1977 D Denver-Pitt (only 20m available),1976 D Oakland-NE (impossible).
yep, i have all of those (except the '76 game unfortunately), will be posting them over the next few weeks. not sure if you've seen it, but there actually is broadcast footage of the game-winning play from the '76 game on RU-vid: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ksclc4Rha50.html
This was the last NFL playoff game to kick off in the morning local time. Starting the following year the NFL moved the Sunday start times from 12:30 and 4:00 ET to 1:00 and 4:30 to avoid having morning kickoffs when the early game was in the Central time zone like this one was.
6 interceptions, 3 returned for touchdowns. Favre was horrendous in that game. Sure, you could argue that the Rams were the better team and would’ve won anyway, but Favre didn’t even give Green Bay a chance at winning that game.
1:01:58 One of the reasons I always got a kick out of Brett Favre. Most quarterbacks would be livid if a receiver drops what would’ve been an easy touchdown pass in a playoff game, especially if they’re trailing in the game, and it would be perfectly justified. Favre is just like “well shucks… maybe next time” 😆
Man Mike Sherman was a goof. Game is over and he's got Ahman still in there running, and getting something tweaked naturally. Sherman was a loser and a wasted time in GB as head coach / GM. Terrible stretch of an era. Favre never sniffed anything further than the divisional round - and blame DOES fall on his shoulders. Horrible GM / ho-hum head coach at best.
