All cars are about engagement that's why manual wins on engagement every time. Auto's are town cars, dct is for chasing tenths and manual are for those who enjoy engagement.
Couldn't have summed it up any better. On older cars though, the auto isn't a good town car either hence why the manual is the preferred choice but spot on either way
Have just purchased a 330CI manual convertible - It's my new weekend car with the daily being a Land Rover Disco. That said, in the week since I've bought it the poor LR hasn't moved off the driveway at all, and I've somehow managed to put 200 miles on the BMW :D This weekend I took the kids out for the day and given the BMW is a 4 seater and the kids insisted we went out in the 330 the wife had to take her 24 plate car out too in convoy as she doesn't like driving the disco and we had no room left in the beemer 😀
Love this! Having a lot of genuine fun! Nice example in that colour combo and 2003 trim. I've got an 04 330i Ci but it's auto and SE, however it's still awesome. It's been my first e46 so now I'm after a Manual 330i Ci Sport...oh, just like this one in the video 😂. Problem I'm having is finding one with lower miles that isn't too expensive. Mine' has only done 67k and is pretty much a minter. Well done with this video and good luck with the channel 👏👏👏
I owned a E46 325Ci in Topaz Blue for several months. Great car although it isn't as potent as the M54B30 and it'll have it's place as a classic but unfortunately it will be stipled by the 330 unfortunately
They have gone up already, low mileage cars are almost double what they were 2-3 years ago! They will continue to go up too. 325ci and the 330ci will reach crazy prices if they are kept for the future

I haven't seen one in the spec I have either yet,out of factory: pre face lift, petrol manuel,topaz blue,black trim outside,black leather interior and unmolested. A definite keeper for me BUT road tax is a killer. I'd love to get a ceramic coated exhaust manifold, get the underside cleaned and painted and a full suspension overhaul,all bushes replaced, transmission oil replaced and more like a limited slip dif by Quife (I think) just time and money. Pre face lift for me is the one ..also m3 is pre face lift. I've always preferred a coupe too and no sunroof, they always leak and more weight to the car. What would you recommend as a suspension upgrade? I'm looking at OEM springs with Bilstein B6's all round. I don't want it lowered due to the amount of speed bumps I go over and I think it looks low enough as is on 18" rims. Brilliant video guys!!!! A joy to watch and listen to that engine!!!!! Yeah man!!!!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the intro. I'm not sure how many people would get it's comedic value and assume it's real 🤣 I'd reccomend a 320Ci or 325Ci. Same engine, but just lesser displacements. Exact same noise!

Decent money into it but it's all good I just recently picked up a 02' 330ci and man I love this car so much more it's lighter more power better suspension and it's drop top btw I need to buy a wind deflector ASAP love the way they look in convertibles
An xi. Wow, we never got them in the UK. Completely alien concept to us I'm afraid! They're great cars for the money and no doubt they're soon to be a classic
The e46 is the only best looking ever made BMW convertible. It's a keeper. And it's starting to get hard to fine. 2005 the last year of it. I drive a 2004 ALPINA TWIN TURBO CONVERTIBLE. ILL NEVER part with it.
They are going up in value but not at an alarming rate. It's no M car and the person who would buy one more would be someone that fancies the E46 M3 but can't afford it. I see it climbing up in value like an E36 328i but still surpassing it eventually as it's less popular then it's successor
Both the 325ci manual and the 330ci manual since the previous reply are climbing a lot now. A low mileage example is double what it was 2 years ago. They will continue to go up too. It's all about nostalgia, read the comment sections under cars video's to see which cars people used to have that they have fond memories of. R5 Turbo, RS 1600i etc

Hard to say. Sounds too good to be true but it could be the deal of a lifetime. Get the 330 taken to a workshop of your choosing for an inspection before you do any deal
BMW claim it will go it in 6 seconds flat but you have to compensate for the fact this is the convertible which weighs quite a bit more over the coupe, a heavy passenger such as myself and poor rubber on the tyres
@@CarNitty . I'm just OCD Bro😁I have a 2002 330CI Convertible, in auto, because its my cruise car anytime of the year here in Oz. I have a bruising V8 manuaI Ute for the drive 'experience' I take the E46 into site inspections in the city as it is easy to park in tight multi story car parks. My other cars are too big for that. Plus, I then put the roof down and cruise back to the office along Beach Road, Port Philip bay 😀
@@CarNitty I have the auto 330ci and it's not as bad as you make it out to be. I think many people will prefer the auto after a while when you get tired of manual driving. You still have a very high revving car with all the same power. I had a 1999 BMW Z3 and the manual transmission didn't really impress me. I would love to try the 330ci in manual though
I'm not opposed to auto boxes. I just know most auto boxes pre 2010 are usually quite dim witted and then coupled with the fact how involving the manual can be, I'd pass the auto but if I was daily driving a car and going through stop start conditions, I'd want the auto myself!
