i thought i was crazy when removed my 2006 sienna transmission myself alone from out of the vehicle this way 3 or 4 years ago without completely dropped the subframe in my home garage, but you did the exact same thing. i did not have to remove the a pipe. i was squeezing every inch available to pull the transmission out, going back on was much easier though.
Hey, i'm about to do my 2000 Toyota Avalon Transmission swap it has same Engine. Should i do just like you did? i don't have take both Motor & Transmission out?
Since you have already been in to one, would you know if the 5 speed automatic transmission would fit on the 2002 model v6 that has the 4 speed automatic transmission? Looking to upgrade mine. Thanks
Id imagine there would be issues with the ECU talking to the Transmission... I know the 5spd Manual is a direct swap, bolts right up, but will cause an Check Engine Light for Transmission codes, but assuming the swap was done right, will work as it should, shift and all. Im not expert, but Id assume the Auto wouldnt know the shift points of a completely different auto trans
I have an 05 Camry 2.4L 4cyl. I need to replace the torque converter to resolve some shuddering issues (that's my diagnosis after hours of research). Anyway, based on your experience do you think it's possible to seperate the engine and trans enough to replace the torque converter without having to drop the trans all the way out?
I had a 02 xle v6 made in Japan. The tranny is the only thing that went bad twice. Loved the car, but soon found out the U140e was crap. I now never buy a first year redesign of a model. Better to work the bugs out first.
Anyone that is doing this job replacing the transmission please i kid you not replace the rear main seal on the engine or couple of years down the line you will have to remove the transmission again.
Am I the only one that cringed during the whole saying about the wooden braces. At least use a 2 by 6 actually two of them and make sure they're vertical where their strongest not laying flat
