Thank You, for explaining the parts on the vehicle, most of the men just cuzz while making the RU-vid video and just looses interests for me and my youngest daughter. We had replace all the sparkplugs and the ignitation coils, then we got a free diagnostic test at AutoZone and printed out the papers on what was needed to be fix, which came out to be the fuel injector on #3. thanks for reading.

Thank you! My 03 Envoy started running rough yesterday. No check engine light on. So I did your easy coil test. It was #1 (fortunately, because #6 looks like a bear to get out). Runs great again! Probably a $400 fix at shop, yet only cost me $75 total to do myself, because of you. So thanks again and God bless

Lol never seen a coil broke like that. Oh yeah you forgot that grey lock clip. Doesn't matter if it's missing. I took mine off my 02 envoy and my 03 Sierra and my 05 Denali. You have a great enthusiasm about what you do. 👍👍

Thanks for the video lesson on how to test coil by removing the wire harness to test .i would have thought it would have shocked you but guess not ....so ill be trying that on my 04 Envoy today bc thats the code iam getting I was getting po 300 random misfire but now its isolated to #po 302 after swapping coils 2 & 3 so after the coil swap misfire went form 2 to 3 ..good stuff Thanks Again saves a ton on money to diagnose & repair something ..so simple & easy to do

@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos I was all pumped up and ready to troubleshoot. Pulled in to garage and engine light was out. My P0303 and P0420 were gone but are showing again today but no light. I will swap 1 and 3 and hopefully get up the nerve to swap our rear engine mount.

Thanks a million, I had a cylinder 3 misfire changed the coil and plug but had the wrong cylinder, why is the printed firing order different on the truck? I didnt realize it was 123456 in order from front to back

Hey Dave, I think all manufacturers should stamp a number on each coil, then the companies who sell new coils should include a set of permanent stickers (numbered 1 - 10) so you can place one on the new coil before installing.

I love you, I used to work on my own cars in the early 70's, but have been frustrated since everything went electronic! This vid, shows me it time to roll out the tool box, and do it myself! I've got a number 1 cylinder misfiring, and I'll bet it's gonna be the same thing as the number 3 on your Envoy...Thank You so much! BTW my oil sending unit is leaking, how hard is that to replace myself? One other question, what part of the South are you in? I recognize that pine straw! LOL. Again thanks so much for this vid!

LOL, yeah there is pine straw all over the place down here in NC. I would guess your issue would be the same as this one, and as you can see, it's easy to check. We might be giving away our ages here, but yeah, back when there were "POINTS" and a simple two bolt mechanical fuel pump on the side of the engine, things were great, LOL!!!

Well I’m having issues with my 2013 Chevy Malibu ltz and my car is bogging/jerking when I try to accelerate and I get a service Stabilitrak along with check engine light and I check the codes and it’s popping up P0303 and U0401 any suggestions or advice is appreciated.

It has coils and I tried unplugging each one individually and it seems to increase the misfire on each one Update** I took out the spark plugs to check the condition and they were pretty burnt. I replaced all 4 and cleared the codes and took it for a drive and the service Stabilitrak and engine light still comes on also I’m still getting the bogging when those lights come on. I scanned it twice first time I got p0304 and second time I got p0300 and U0401

I have a misfire on #1 so I'm going to do all the plugs and wires on a 05 envoy xl v8 4wd.. is it easier to go through tire well or just pull the intake off

You definitely shouldn't have to pull the intake off on a 5.3, 6.0, or ANY GM v8 engine.

Thanks for the video!! I have misfire in #6. Replaced sparks and coils but nothing changed. My mechanic suggests it is the valve issue and it is better to have a new engine. 😐 What do you think?

Have they checked the fuel injector? The valves can be replaced, but a lot of mechanics don't know how to rebuild engines so they just replace the whole engine.

@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos I believe they did check the injectors. They finally concluded that it is the valve and they recommended replacing the engine rather than fixing the valve!!

Hi Luis, check to make sure that the coil is firing, and if it is, check the fuel injector, Let us know what you find.

Hi brother. Appreciate the video. Code threw P0305. Brothers 2004 envoy ran out of gas. AAA brought 3 gallons and the car immediately ran rough. He filled it up half way and misfired with blinking cel. We parked it as to not damage the cat further I hope. 2 years ago after changing fuel filter P0306 code came on and the coil fixed it. Is there a reason these coils coincidentally go out when something involving fuel takes place?

Personally, I have not heard of a fuel issue causing a coil to go bad, so I'm going to have to say it was a coincidence.

It's always a good idea to disconnect the negative terminal when working on a vehicle. i like to say that if you question whether you should or not, then ALWAYS go with should. Hope this helps!

Yes, it could be the wiring to the coil, a bad spark plug, the computer, a fuel injector, bad valves, etc. there are many reasons for a misfire, you just have to start checking the easiest thing first. Hope this helps!

Definitely start with the distributor cap and rotor. If they look good, then you may be looking at a bad distributor.

Have a 97 chevrolet blazer with 4.3 vortec. Code p0303 misfire cylinder #3. Replace spark plug an wires an still didn't fix the issue... Any ideas? Don't have coil packs for each cylinder so idk what else to turn to unless it could be the distributer cap & bug?

Use a spark tester to make sure you have spark going to that cylinder. Then make sure the fuel injector is working for that cylinder, and if that turns out good, you must do a compression test on that cylinder. After doing those 3 things, YOU WILL find out why you have that misfire.

had a cylinder 3 misfire on 2010 Hyundai Tucson I changed 4 spark plugs and 4 ignition coils number 3 coil smelled kinda burnt so after changing everything car cranks but won't start did a scan and misfire is clear and crankshaft sensor came up so un hooked battery rehooked and camshaft sensor came up so now I m gonna change those and for the heck of it i'm gonna change the coolant sensor if those don't work what do you think I could be? i'm not a mechanic but I do somethings I work on my jeep too love doing oil changes any info could help

I think the plugs are good. Check to see if anything could have come loose or disconnected in the process.

@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos hello I had a friend help and we worked on this car for 5 hrs just located and putting in these 3 sensors got to the camshaft sensor and that was the problem it had melted and we had to pry it out so we got the big part of the sensor out and there was this little piece left we did everything to pick it out then it happen we don't know where it went so disappointed that I might not be driving this car for a while we called it a day until we figure out what to take loose we almost might have fixed it if we didn't have to deal with that piece we put all these new parts on and might be for nothing but I think we did what we could lol

05 envoy xl denali replaced #7 coil ran fine then after 2 weeks it ran like crap again. Computer says #7 again. Is it common

It depends on the coil being used, and if there is a short to that coil. What name brand coil did you use?

So if I got a p0301 the misfire doesn’t have to be that cylinder that’s causing the misfire?

It's very rare, but yes, especially on the older style Buick v6 engines.

Astral Auto Repairs I got a 2003 Chevy Tahoe changed the coil spark plug and wire and fuel injector on cylinder 1 and still get the misfire idk what else it can be I also changed to 02sensor

My envoy shakes alot when it sits and also when in drive , and when I drive it it shakes too and it hesitates to pick up speed

2003 Trailblazer ran out of gas, began running rough and loss of power. Let a shop diagnose and approved all plugs and coils. I thought it was a fuel system prob. If I knew about this vid I would have done the work myself and saved $250 labor. But you pay for the diagnostics too. Just took it to the Chevy dealer here in Long Beach Ca and they charged $200 to "clean" my throttle body. What a waist of time 3 days in the shop and money. The truck is still running rich p0172 bank 1, p0440 evap, p0440 evap per Auto Zone. Mechanics out here are just telling me take it somewhere else. Losers.

@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos no that is the only code that comes up and it's running pretty rough. I live in Wisconsin about 3 weeks ago it was -25 F outside and I pretty much forced it to start that morning and have had this problem since. I haven't been driving it like that but am now trying to figure out the problem.
