The Ep3/usa is the most under-rated Si ever. Bashed by critics who never owned one or understood it. Because of that, Honda never made a hatch like it again. Never mind VW 2004 GTI was praised (?) for it's design by the media. Wind her up over 3500 RPM on a twisty back road and it will give the driver a great driving experience using just a little bit of regular gas. Back home, it will haul all your belongings and park in the smallest space in town. It is mechanical and elegant simplicity by design.
Hey man, really like your car! just got my EP3. My Honda journey started with a EK coupe, then I got an FA5 loved both of them. Left the Honda world for about 10 years and owned many different cars until now. Owned the EP for all of 3 days and I am in love with it! Wanted to ask about your RPF1 specs, the fitment looks great!
I don't normally comment on videos but I just had to say something for this one. I just finished watching your video with no audio and auto generated captions. I couldn't hear any music or the sound of your voice but I was able to read you and see your passion. You really do love this car. I'm a fellow ep3 owner as well. Just hit my 1 year anniversary almost a month ago. I was inspired by your passion and clean engine bay that I'm going to do the same. I can't wait for this simple project. Thank you for making this video and sharing.
Just picked up a 02 ep3 a few months ago and I love daily driving it. This is coming from a guy who owns V8 Audis lol I love the ep3. Here in Canada it's Called and Badged a Civic SIR hatchback EP3. Not sure what the difference is for SIR AND SI but these cars get hated on for the HP but this block is actually very good. Can handle 7-10psi of boost no problem as a daily in the comfort zone
I'm 40 and I own and drive an 02 ep3 I get jokes on because of it but I don't give a fuck I like the car it takes me where i need to go and brings me back home and it's good on gas . It's not a fast car by all means but it is a fun car to drive especially when ripping thru those 5 gears I am in awe of how reliable it is I still say Honda should have made it a 6 speed . I plan on swapping out that a3 and 5 speed trans once this engine dies . Until then I will gladly drive this thing around .
EWRECKKK that's my plan for this car . For a dude my age it's uncommon to see driving said car every one drives a truck or a luxury car I'm good with my little Civic Si been a fan since high school before Honda's became mainstream my first Honda was an 83 dx hatch with a 4speed that thing was awfully slow lol but it was fun to drive and got very very good gas mileage . As far as the ep3 the type r engine and drivetrain will make this thing fly literally .
nice vid man, im from austin, texas. i just got a 2002 ep3. same as yours, only has aftermarket wheels and no other upgrades. cant wait to make it as dope as yours
Awesome thank you for following me! I’ve been needing to do another video on the car. It’s all changed up now. I’ve gone through 2 motors since this video lol. Do you still have yours?
damn I'm glad I found this video. Thought I was the only one that didn't like the h02 headlights. Do you know if you can just switch out to the type r headlights or do you need to change the fenders and hood?
good looks! and one more thing, I know your running the 35 offset on the 17x9 but do you got spacers on too or LCAs . fitment is dope btw I want that track look too.
Wheel and tire specs? Currently running 17x9.5 +32 offset, the back wheels are scraping the bar right by the control arm, I had to get extended wheel studs and spacers in the back to clear, but it still scrapes a little when I hit bumps, what size do you recommend so it can fit nice without all that bs?
I'm a mechanic and own one. Bought mine at 153k now at 163k. Absolutely would not hesitate, mine runs like new, starts every time. Mine is even on its original starter and alternator. For example at my shop, 20 year old 150k mile American cars are ready for the junker. Its amazing how well these cars as well as many other Honda's age. Just make sure its been maintained and it'll go 300, 400k miles no problem.
So i just bought one today and i want to change the suspension cause honestly it kind of a rough ride compared to what im used to. How are you liking the ones you have on. Are they a smooth ride or would you recommend something else?
