God I HATE HATE HATE driving in the snow. It doesn't snow much here in Washington but when it does its that super slick shit. So if you need to stop, you ain't stopping.
I have a driveway (about 300 feet long) that plugs up every winter (2 feet of snow or more) ...... I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it practically plows its own path.
I just picked up an 02 Overland with 4.7 HO WITH select-trac... a unicorn. 188k on it and still runs good plenty of life left. it's my 8th and final one.
@@3gencamaroguy it looked completely factory. I no longer have the vehicle as it was going to be a money pit for what I wanted to do with it, so I let it go.
I would have bought that for sure, I have a 01 Jeep grand Cherokee limited that had quadra drive and swapped it for selec trac. I also made it an overland clone I just need the overland rock rails that are impossible to find in my area.

@CrazyChrisBelmont97 Thanks man, with selec trac you only have to use neutral when going into 4 low. You can put it in part time and full time in drive.
@MechanicalStoner This jeep is a laredo olympic limited edition only available in 2002 which came with the 4.7 V8, the 5 speed auto and the selec trac transfer case as a package. However, i have seen other jeeps with the 4.7 v8 with selec trac. Just not as common as the quadra trac / drive system. Some people like to have the 2 wd selection to save fuel.
@Aaroncmrust The difference is the limited slip differential. LSD requires a tire to slip before it can transfer the torq to another wheel. Selectrac allows you to use 4WD Part Time which locks the 4 wheels into the same rotation, avoiding the need to have a slip kick in the torq adjustment
@MADdaDJ Yep 180 000 km or 116 000 miles, Love this jeep, I also have a WK jeep lifted but still like the WJs alot better. Good luck with the new jeep.
@ROCKSTARMANIC12 You only have to put it in neutral if you are going in 4 low. 4 part time and 4 full time can be put in while the car is in drive as long as you ease off the throttle and are going below 40 mph. We have 4 jeeps in the family and had many more in the past and never had a transmission / transfer case problem. Thank you for your concern.
@samboodee hey man thanks, at 100 kph its around 1700 rpm and at 110 kph its at 2000 rpm. i get about 11.5 - 12.5 liters/100 km which is not bad for a v8 and about 550 to 600km a tank which cost around $80 full.(it all depends on you driving style) My mom has a 2001 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 v8 with quadra trac and it gets about the same. If you drive them easy, they are very reasonable on fuel. take care.
@3gencamaroguy got to love it dont you :) i went 6 months with out a jeep from the first one i had until this one, never again!!! beats the hell out of my bronco, i had to manually lock the hubs on that and stop and put it in nutural to go into any type of 4wd
@guerrerense4 Yes, it is very uncommon to see a V8 with selec trac, i also have another jeep with quadra drive , its nice but i like the selec trac the best.
@Gigawattz0r iv heard these engines going at 100 000 miles due to sludge build up from not changing there oil every 5000 miles. But i know alot of people who have over 200 k miles and have no issues. Just got to change the oil frequently.
i also have a grand cherokee but mine is the 4.0 laredo or w.e lol but i was wondering how you put it from 2wd to 4wd i dont want to mess up my jeep so i was wondering if you could make a video or just give me a step by step thing to show me how i can engage the 4wd thanks
180,xxx plus huh? Do you like it? Im looking at an 04 with 119,000 4.7l awd or 4lo im in love with it. Getting it tomorrow i think! 8) my old jeep was an 03 but 6 cyl 2wd. I loved it. So. Ill get this one tomorrow
wait a minute, a 02 laredo v8 4.7 with select trac ? i did not know if there were wj`s like this, i really will love to have one of this. i own a 04 laredo with selec trac but is v6 4.0
@3gencamaroguy dude when you change to 4x4 you first put it on neutral then u change to what you want it on then drive bro !! the way u did it is wrong that causes your transmission messes up careful im just saying.. correct me if im wrong!!
@H3LLK3RN I have had no problems with the jeep except both front power window regulators died, got 2 new ones of ebay for 75 bucks. I love these jeeps WJ, lots of power and very comfortable.
all of the 4.7's grand cherokees I've seen olnly have the quadra drive or quadra trac II, never selec trac. did u factory order it with the selec trac?
man! you can change into 4x4 or 4x2 at low speeds (recomended) or parked, but changing it while on Drive is gonna bring you some problem in the future with the tranny.
keep it in 4WD and you "won't get stuck". dont drive your jeep like it's a ford escort. ya it saves fuel but you have way more control in the winter with 4WD
