On today's DIY, I'll go over the modifications on my "Frank Build" 2003 Acura RSX. Even since I bought the RX-7 R2 a year ago, I haven't put to much time on the RSX. I'm also giving you guys a small DIY on how I clean engine bay and the exteriors.

Also, how much horsepower are you putting down to the wheel? I think I missed it in the video.

I didn't mention it in the video. The car was etuned by derf tune but not for performance yet. After that, I bought the rx7 and I haven't put more time into the rsx. I haven't take it to a dyno neither because it still has the stock exhaust system so even though I can feel the difference on low and mid range power, I also can feel how the car choke on the high end. The goal is to make it turbo and hit around 400 - 475 to the wheel but that will be a series of videos later in the channel. Stay tune! ✌🏽

Mate please name all the parts needed for the build, i am looking for a guide to do frankenstein on my cl9 accord (k24a3) with a k20a2 head and cant find any guide deeply explained, you definetely just earned a subscriber, cant wait for more informative videos about the build and what exactly it needs :) 👍 Let me correct you here, the european accord versions of the US TSX are the 2.0l accord CL7 and the 2.4l accord cl9, the cl7 accord depending the year of model 2003-2008 may have either the k20a6 or k20z2 both are same actually no real vtec on camshafts with 3 lobes the cl9 accord comes correctly with k24a3 engine and makes 190hp with real vtec with 3 lobes, on the other hand there is the accord cl7 e Euro-R version Which is a Type-R (dunno why euror and not typer) and it has exclusively the k20a engine which is the best possible k-series engine and produces 220Hp :)

How much did you spend on the build, I have the same project in mind. I was thinking about 7-8 thousand dollars.

Around 5k. Keep in mind, I have done everything. I think the only thing I paid was to the weld the AN bungs to the head cover for the catch can. Also, I was hunting for the parts that can be used (like intake manifold, head cylinder, etc.) on FB groups to try to get them the cheaper. Good luck on your build. K24A3 not euro r. Its a simple CL9 engine. Modification: Type S/Executive. CL7 EuroR came with k20a 220hp and only JDM.

Good to know. I though the euro r was our TSX type s. I didn't know the k20a was on the accord.

@@TonyWestDIY Yes. K20A JDM 220hp came with RBC intake only on Euro-R CL7 Accord) DC5 JDM/EP3 JDM has 220hp - but has different intake manifold. Same with DC5 RSX Type-S. FD2 came with 220Hp and RRC maifold. 02-04 RSX came with k20a2 camshafts and only 200hp. 05-06 came with JDM DC5 camshafts and make a 212hp. Only different with JDM Integra Type-R is Compress Ratio. 0.5 lower. Thats why RSX has 212hp, Integra 220hp.
