Thanks man!! This helps me out a lot. I'm getting one in tomorrow with the exact same problem. This is going to save a lot of time since i'm in Belgium and this is not a common vehicle over here. Keep up the good work. Greets,Karel

shakil miller Isn't that a pain in the butt to get to? Good luck. Just remember that every one seems to be different and you have to get the old one out in order to order the right replacement number

I literally did the same job without cutting anything or removing the dash I simply went through the passenger side inner vent and made a ground down socket/wrench Took 40 mins to do

Okay if you're having a problem with the heat blowing out of your passenger side which is the hardest to get to actuator. I have your quick fix solution. Simply remove left side passenger vent and allow the glove compartment to hang all the way down. Now turn ignition off and then cut it back on to allow it to blow cold air after about 10 seconds cut that thing back off while the door is completely shut and it is not blowing hot air yet. Now reach into the hole and disconnect that actuator. Problem solved until another day no dash to rip apart and you still have cold air. Actually you could plug it back up come wintertime and have instant Heat. Hope this is helpful to those that are as lazy as me.

I have an o3' Tahoe -Driver side starts cold for 15 seconds then goes hot- Would unplugging that actuator before it starts to go hot temporarily solve the problem? If so, how hard is it to get to the driver side actuator/
@russellweaver3965
@russellweaver3965 4 года назад
@@jimh8560 Yes if you unplugged it before it went hot it should work for you but on the driver side it's so easy to get to the actuator I would just replace it.

Russell Weaver Thanks very much fun for the quick response. I will be trying to do the replacement. But until I get the part, your temp fix sounds great in Las Vegas at 108 degrees right now. Thanks again! I plan on giving it a try.

Fastest way to get this done without cutting the vent with a saws-all is to go ahead and remove the dash (not that bad a job - lots of videos out there), and then loosen the bolts holding the air vent in place. Take a long pry bar through the air bag hole and use the metal bracket for leverage to lift up the vent and you'll have plenty of clearance to do the work.

@bjcoveney5306

Yes it's easer to cut it in that spot, especially if you have normal size hands! However it's not looking good, think I need someone " flash" or reprogram the calibration. Cool air not cold. The rear ac is like ice. I originally had hot driver side ( did that one) heat. After that cool air on both. So I changed the passenger one ( cutting it). Still was cool. Then fingered why not did the recirculate one next. Still not.. Pinched the heater coil still only cool air. Taking to a local shop to check the main temperature control and check each door. Keep you posted...

I'm aware this is from a few years ago. Just taking a chance if you happen to see this question or perhaps someone else had this same issue. How did you get it fixed? Mine started the same way, hot air on driver's side when A/C was turned on. Replaced the same actuators. And now the front just throws cool air in the front. Very cold in the rear vents.

wait till your turn signal lever messes up when you put the right turn signal on the high beam comes on that's another fun fix at least you don't have to take the steering wheel off

Man you save me a headache. Could you get away with not cutting the duct just in case cold air condenses an it turns into water leaking down inside the dashboard?

GM trucks are the biggest POS on the road. I have an 05 Sierra that has been nothing but a money pit with problem after problem. Worse yet, GM continued to use these dollar store parts from 1999 to 2014 without ever having them built better. All the parts on these trucks should be available at the Dollar Store and they would make a fortune selling GM truck parts. Instead you have to buy from the dealer, and give them an entire weeks pay for inferior junk. GM should be ashamed of themselves!!!

I bought a 2015 Toyota Tundra new after this POS. I knew I was taking a chance buying this Tahoe, and lost
@jimdent351
@jimdent351 6 лет назад
I think you will be happy with your Tundra. A buddy of mine has an 07, and has s had really good luck with it. My wife has a Toyota Sienna and it has been a good little van too. I always had amazing luck with GM vehicles up until this truck I bought in 09. Anybody I know with any kind of GM truck has always had the same problems. Problems are loss of heat, heat when a/c is on, cracked mirrors from the defrost, instrument clusters, lights burn out on dash and steering controls, CD players failing, intermediate steering shaft, broken door handles, emissions evaporator cans and solenoids, and the list goes on and on. Yes I have had all these problems too. POS trucks!

@@boboceancounty9296 BTW, now that some clown has brought me back here I figured out why these actuators acted up. It wasn't actually the actuators themselves. There are gremlins in the system, and the actuators needed to be reset. I was having the exact same problem that you had, and once I reset it it worked great and never gave problems again. Mine started with a weak battery, but they would also act up if you disconnect the battery and then change the settings/fan on the climate control module while the system was relearning. I honestly think the work you did on your truck was a waste of time and money. Don't feel bad, however, mechanics at GM were doing the same thing and replacing actuators. This isn't the same video I used to re-calibrate my actuators, but it is the exact same process. Take a look. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KNTCbBV7xr4.html
