In my 30 years of being a mechanic, I never encountered such a thing, I really appreciate the advice you saved me a huge headache . Damn Chrysler and their electrical issues
Pretty dam smart find Nick! That's a great teaching moment for a lot of techs out, if they are watching. They could learn a lot from RU-vid these days!
I have the same problem with my truck. I of course checked my starter, my alternator which were good. I had to get a new battery as it was drained. I did end up getting a cam shaft sensor and still cuts off. I've always suspected either my ignition coils or fuel injectors. Gonna try fuel injectors though. So frustrating as it's not giving any codes
@@somewhatfast thank you! I'm hoping it's one of those 😏 was going out of town when it suddenly stopped after leaving the rest stop. Had to turn back around and have my truck pulled 😭
I have the same issue ,but my car runs great and with no warnings it shuts down on me,five times I was on the freeway ,it shuts down then turns back on on itself ,it did that twice then continued running till I reached home. When it shuts down I lose the steering wheel power ,and couple of times I lost the steering wheel and the brakes . I think I am so lucky to be still alive . I sent it to the mechanic and there was no warning on the dashboard,he changed the shaft cam sensor ,but the problem was not resolved .
Did you have a little circle red light blinking on your dash when I happened. Cause it sound like my problems. Just got a new battery, alternator is “good” under code reader. When I jiggle my terminals it helps but doesn’t last
Thanks fred, it was an amazon android radio works great it was only $120! Hik vision 10 inch radio and i comes with the back up camera, GPS built in you can coNnect youR Phone hotspot to it and play youtube videos "for the kids". Lol
Ok so did this and second coil I unplugged truck fired right up. Replaced coil and wouldn’t start again. Unplugged new coil and started. I’ll pick up a new plug and try that as well. 3 years of trouble starting in the cold and many sensors replaced. Never thought coil
Update… spark plug coil combo did the trick. Truck runs great again. Never would have guessed that was the problem especially with no codes. Thanks for the tip
@@davidhagerman132 You need a scan tool that can monitor all the systems to see what is shutting off. It could be a faulty computer you can course one on ebay if you want to keep parts swapping.
I'm having the same issues only thing that is a bit different mine runs till it heats up and after about 30 minutes it's dying or stalling and the gauges will go down till whenever it gets enough juice or time and then start back up when the gauges are back
I have the same problem but my truck it’s a 02 with the engine 5.9 Magnum it has just one coil can someone tell me how to check my ignition coil with the motor off
