2003 Honda XR400 

Gotta love these XR's ! Amazing.

Back in 2000 I used my xr400 for everything. 1 commuting 2 motorcross 3 enduros hare and hound 4 hobby riding Never left me down even had 3rd place on enduro against much more Morden lighter bikes .

Xr400R is light, nimble, awesome trial / bush performer. Power to weight ratio is spot on. I've added 3 modified roller bearing wheels to the chain block, really easy to do, great mod for off road and super smooth on road.

Some of if not the best motorcycles ever made imo. I love these. Thats a gem right there

XRs are awesome, their like will never be seen again!

In Europe every XR400 is legal registered

I am riding a 2003. Got about 10 hours on it. Mint. All original but the gas, oil and the front inner tube.

Just bought a nice 03 250r today in Colorado for my 11 year old. He can't wait to ride so excited his 110 was good for 4 years

I'm still kicking myself for selling my '02 XR400. It was also in near showroom condition with very little time on it. But I did get quite a bit of money for it, but I still miss it. With Honda's 'power up' kit installed, and an FMF powercore 4 silencer, that bike was a beast, but still easy to ride and super comfortable.

damn she's beautiful. looks like new. hope she went to someone who appreciates it. They never made a road legal version for the US.. most if not all Aus delivered xr400r came road registerable ;)

Beautiful bike! I bought an 04 in almost the same condition a few years ago. I've ridden it a ton but sometimes wish l would have kept it in show room condition for the resale value...naa nevermind Ive had way too much fun on it and it has a lot of life left in it yet 😂👍

XR Collection isn't complete actually...you still need to find a 650R liquid cooled model :) The XR400 is my all time favorite bike!

Love my street legal 2002 XR400. Also have a plated 1999 XR400.

Pity Honda didn’t keep these air cool bikes going along side the water cool CRF range . Sure they had the crf 230 range but I guess the water cooled models did take over at the time and all manufacturers did well with them .

I had an 03 model, never should have sold it. So a bought a 96 model. Even though I also have a 2021 GASGAS EC 300 I love to ride the XR. Different experience and sometimes superior, for me.

I'm an XR guy: have 200, 400 & 650. Have a question, checking the oil on the 400 is a pain and sometimes impossible. Any suggestions? Thx

Not so fast Ken, I have a street legal xr400 with title and I’m also in CT. Probably 2 of a few street legal in this state.

Had one. Its a good motorcycle but if you dropped it hot it was impossible to start. The starting issue could also be bad starting it first of the day.

I need E-start thes XR's start hard sometimes when hot or a tipover.

i almost think when these bikes first came out they were just as popular as the 650

Not sure why bikes needed radiators cluttering up the front end. My 43 year old XT 500 will probably run forever. The Honda XR 650 won the Baja 1000 several times!

Kaplan Cycles . I have your needle , 2004 xr400r4 , I bought this new back in April 2004 at carter motorsports in Las Vegas , NV. The story behind why I bought it and why i still have it is long winded , so i won't boar ya , lol. Now how stock would you like my xr400r4 to be ? right now it is set up with the same dakar light kit , minus the add on plate / tail light uglyness lol , IMS lower oil cooler line guard , devol rear disk guard , mirror mounts (left and right ) off the stock levers , your standard air box mod , remove the top snorkel from air box , replace with wire mesh to keep large critters from being sucked in during riding . a speedometer from a ATK witch reads close enough lol 42 tooth rear sprocket ( i think , ) that lets the bike cruze at 70 with no problem . Oh exhaust , full Jardine rt-4 kit , larger id header pipes and sa muffler with quiet insert , witch brings the DB's down around 98 ish , with out it , it barks , ..Now if you want stock , then I have all the stock parts , full exhaust , header pipe to muffler (not modded in any way ) , the original front and rear tires , rear sprocket , front headlight / number plate assembly , and the factory air box snorkel . and Yes It could be yours ( or any of you ) if the price is r!&ht .. lol but for real it is up for sale .

The 250F and 450F are to high maintenance or Just to Brutal to ride. These are spot on perfect. I own 2 of these, and I will never part with them
