NBA Players on the Court: Igoduala, Hinrich, Collison, Stoudamire, Walton, Miles, Langford, Adams and Channing Frye. Most of them Seniors. We won’t see that anymore.
This Arizona squad was so much fun to watch for two years, it was so sad the way it ended. They were capable of scoring so quickly. Erase a 20 point deficit or gain a 20 point lead in less than 3 minutes it was amazing. The last great Lute Olson team. RIP Coach O. 2004-2005 Arizona was good too but they never reached #1 status and was an underdog in the tourney. That team was the last fun Arizona team under Olson and it was extremely sad the way it ended as well but by being robbed by refs in that Illinois game. At least Kansas beat us fair and square.
It was a great team. I remember when KU's bracket came out...I was devastated. I can't believe we won this game. Gardner had a GOOD look there at the end. A game of centimeters.
@@walterlv01You’d think it would be an advantage considering LA-Anaheim isn’t that far from Tucson and that the crowd would be like 80 percent Wildcat.
Nearly an exact reversal of the 1997 Sweet 16 game between these two (85-82 vs. 78-75) and ending in the exact same manner, with a rushed 3-pointer that would have tied it from the wing clanging off the rim at the buzzer.
Fuck Lute Olson. His 1997 team robbed Kansas of the chance to win the national title and took the title for themselves. This 2003 game was perfect karma for him and for Arizona. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
48:21 The highlight from their coverage was actually from U.S. soldiers overseas seen in the CBS News' War in Iraq update during Baghdad. Well documented that the invasion began while March Madness was in the early stages of the tournament.
Bonnie Bernstein always gets to interview Roy Williams at the most inopportune times. She also interviewed him when he told her “I don’t give a shit about North Carolina.”
She (Bernstein) was consistently thorough in her job, but she went too far by reiterating, instead of respecting the fact his team had just lost, and asked him the same exact question a second time! Bonnie was good, but he had already answered her question directly! Should have moved on from that personal topic! That group of Kansas seniors (Hinrich, Collison and Gooden) was especially tight with their coach and in that moment it should have been about Kansas Syracuse! To me bringing up Carolina was inappropriate and out of line! Was only time I had an issue with her reporting!
I BELIEVE this 28pt performance by Kirk Hinrich solidified him getting Drafted in the Lottery in June 2003. This Wildcat team was like 6-8 deep of future NBA players•
