Bought brand new from James Wood Auto Park of Denton Texas in October of 2002, this extremely unique sedan has spent its entire life right here in the North Texas area. Wow! Last produced for the 2003 model year, only 7,217 Auroras were produced for its final production run. And this one might very well be the lowest-mileage one left in existence. First introduced in the 1995 model year, the Aurora holds a special place in automotive history as one of the most unique looking vehicles that GM ever built. Early design of it began as far back as 1989 with an engineering concept known as the Oldsmoblie Tube Car that was designed by Bud Chandler. This Tube Car featured many elements that actually made it into the final design, including a full-width taillamp; wrap-around rear windsheld and frameless windows. This second-generation model began in 2001 with an intention to move it even further upmarket from the Buick Riviera, but Buick discontinued the Riviera so the Aurora soldiered on for 2 more years with the Oldsmobile-exclusive 4.0-Liter Northstar V8 engine. Smaller than the 4.6-Liter one used in Cadillacs, it still had impressive numbers of 250 horsepower and 260 lb ft of torque and was used in IRL Racing models. This particular one - with its ultra-low mileage - runs, drives, shifts and performs exactly like it should. On the outside, this rust-free Aurora's gorgeous Pearl White Paint Scheme is complimented by an almost flawless Tan Leather interior. It's a beauty! It's a shame GM discontinued Olds in 2004. I wish they could have done something. One thing they should have done: changed the name from Oldsmobile to Aurora, and brought out new models with the Aurora name. Like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles did with the Dodge Truck line, when they renamed it Ram.

I have a silver 4.0 L , Olds Aurora just like this one, and it runs great, and I have not put any repair money into it, except a battery. They run great, and very luxurious, and fun to drive. They will be a collectors item one day, as only a few were made. Mine has only 64,000 miles on it, and mint shape.

I had one of these cars, it truly is beautiful but it's a poorly built car, it's a mechanics dream because this car will spend more time in his shop than on the road. This car overheats constantly I replace Radiator and radiator fans 12 months later it's overheating again. This Car will leak oil like crazy and will have that burning oil smell, I also replaced the heater core 18 months later no heat again. Theirs a reason why you rarely see these cars on the road most are probably in the junkyard. Driving home one night I hit a bump and all my dashboard lights went off then I hit another bump and they came back on. I purchased this car from a Dealership in Schaumberg IL for $4,700.00 then purchased an extended warranty for $1800.00 Car had 119K miles thought it was a fair deal Heater Core was a Grand, Fans and Radiators $700, to replace all the leaky seals was $5,600.00

not in this case. It's rare because this car is last production year and low mileage but this same engine was produced since 1995 you can easily find parts for it.

By later years, GM started cross badge engineering most of it's cars. So Oldsmobile, was not really much different from it's other car siblings. Although, GM put serious effort into the Oldsmobile name (and proved they could still build a solid desireable car like the olds of the past) with the Aurora pre luxury car. By the early 2000s GM had too many brands and times changed as Japanese, European cars started eating market share.

Parts should be readibly available for a 1990s to 2004 Oldsmobile GM car. Sadly, GM had too many brands ( foreign competition) eating away at it's sales. They simply could not put the quality into every car like in times past. In a modern time where the big 3 were penalized by consumers for building bland cars except for certain ones. People started flocking to imports to save face GM put most of it's money into SUV's and Trucks for higher profit margins.
