I got an SS 6.0 HO as well but the previous owner did an emblem delete on the doors to add a 22’s emblem. I no longer have those 22’s on the truck due to one of the rims cracking
Hey I love the sound of that exhaust. I hear different others and I picked yours.. I also have a 03’ SS rebuilding transmission right now and would like to get more info as possible.. what kind of engine work you Ed done so far? Ls9 cam? What stage is that? I was told a stage 2 if I wanted to do a pro charge in the newer future.
Thanks. Its been down for almost two years now. But by this fall i should have an updated video of the new forged 6.0 with a precision 76mm turbo and 4l80.
Edit: I think I called foul on this too quickly. My apologies to you, enjoy that sweet sounding ride. ^.^ I just see way too many "Silverado SS" videos where critical details are missing. Or people forget to bowtie delete the rear, put "SS" decals on upside down...Note: not badges, but decals...right next to the existing door panel "1500". Or the body style is all wrong/engine displacement incorrect. I triggered being unable to see your transfer case while you shot up under the rig. AWD was all that was available that year. No choice. Only 30k of these left the factory over entire production run. Out of the 100 Dale Earnhardt Intimidators built, only 97 saw the light of day. 2 went missing, one never was completed and never left the factory. Mine's #3004! (if I'm reading the VIN serial right)
Bill Gonzalez just ordered mine as well and was wondering about the drone, ive heard its horrible, if i dont like it im putting my black widow mufflers on this kit haha
Bill Gonzalez if you dump any exhaust under the truck it's going to drone. I'll be buying the speed engineering set up for my SS but with mufflers and rear exit.
Hey man I saw your truck at Late Model Throttle. I have a red ‘04 SS too. I was wondering what your plans were with it and if you were willing to part it out since there is no motor in it. I’d be interested in buying
Bill Gonzalez have you had all your work done at Late Model Throttle. And when once you get it up and going I’d like to see it in action. I heard it’s about 900 to the wheel
@@Lightning7474. if you are just throwing them on and not having them ported or changing the valves then the only real bump in power you will get is from compression. it will put it near a ls2 witch is just a aluminum 6.0 that also has 243s. if your doing this on a 6.0 youll probably only get 15hp (probably the same with the 5.3). i believe the reliefs in the pistons on a 6.0 put the compression around 10.2.1 with 243s. But if your gonna be all motor a set of 243s is a good first step. Once you decide to modify the heads or add a cam youll gain real power
@@2012Z28Camaro it's in my 03 Silverado SS. LQ9 motor. I appreciate your feedback, much respect to you dude. Not so sure where to start. Or how much $$$ all this will be. First time for everything.
@@Lightning7474. no problem dude. plenty of good companies out there for parts too. I mostly like (TSP) texas speed and performance. Since youve got the lq9 your compression would be even higher because youve got flat top pistons. As far as $$$ its all about how much you wanna do. TSP has a "Low lift truck cam" series that can reuse factory springs. Youd probably like the stage 2. on their site it says itll add about 50 hp and 20 tq but it still drives really good and doesnt really sound too different. You can get just a cam from them for 389 (kits are double-ish 699) You can email or call them with your goal and they can help you learn a bit Youve got a 6.0 so you could go bigger and not have any driving issues if you wanted though. www.texas-speed.com/p-5002-texas-speed-stage-2-low-lift-212218-550550-truck-camshaft.aspx good luck buddy
Bill Gonzalez hey man can I send you my phone number. I’d like to ask you a couple questions about your SS at Late model throttle. I have an SS too and was wondering if you’re willing to part it out
At that time it dyno'd 350 to all four tires. That motor is long gone though. I'm currently working on a fully forged 6.0/76mm precision turbo/ 4l80 (still awd too) setup. Money is tight, but I'll have it ready in the spring. And I will put up a new vid when that time comes.
