When you say “rev the engine up to engage the clutch” you mean rev until the track spins right? If so, is that safe to do off the ground using a rear skidoo stand?
I would first confirm it is the correct belt. You should be able to find this information on Ski Doo's parts information page on their website. Also, confirm the belt isn't too old and stretched. You should be able to search videos on the year/model machine as well for maintenance tips. Hope this helps.
Just curious, is everything you showed in this video (belt adjustment/tightening the belt and the adjustment for loosening the secondary clutch) are they the same for a 2004 GSX 600 sdi?
We normally set all our sleds up this way, so I would presume the method would work for you. Try it out and see if you like it. You can always adjust differently afterward. 👍🏻
I put a new gates belt on my 2005 mxz 600 ho and it was extreamly tight.i adjusted the belt to #0 on the adjuster and it still seems tight that it squealing and is trying to stall the engine. What may I be doing wrong here?
@@kodiakyamaha8688 Sounds like it may be an incorrect belt. Depending on the chassis, it may need a longer belt. I would refer to the Ski Doo website or a dealer to confirm.
