I suggest doing a capacitive discharge of the car battery before changing out parts. Disconnect both battery terminals, starting with the ground - (negative), connect both connection leads with a jumper wire for at 1 minute. Reconnect both battery terminals, hopefully that helps. That worked with my car!

Suspect possibly same thing on my 01 Golf. Sat for a couple of months while I took my time replacing steering rack last winter. Started once after the job, ran for a couple of minutes, I turned it off and now no go. Do get that click though. Also my starter is a bit older but I know for sure the replacement I bought was a cheapie.

I have a problem where it doesnt crank, i disconnect battery and after 10min reconnect and it works

its a fault in the ignition switch sometimes too where the key goes in. A pin breaks in it
