Most if the svt cobras are way underrated compared to what is claimed. Even when dyno tested the numbers don't really match the cars performance. I have a 94 cobra that with no bolt ons that out dug a c5 corvette and kept dead even with an 08 gt500 vert. Now with an exhaust suspension and weight reduction I run about a 12 flat on street tires if I can hook up
Jakob Zanders agreed. That trans am at the end seemed to have a slight edge over the cobra but still close. The Trans am and cobra have to be my favorite cars
Ed Belardo all the trans am had was 243 heads a baby cam and SLP intake close to stock for real 243 heads are just c5zo6 heads SLP comes with the ram airs and a cam so yea that ta moves pretty good to not being far from stock

@@samsquantch14 this car literally came out almost 20 years ago. Hating ass. It had an Independent rear and could out handle a lot of it's competition. Not to mention the bottom end is stronger than most cars of today as well

@@kbdadriftking how do make excuses for someone that won? literally every ford boy's diversion from how big a boat anchor the 4.6 was is to bring up the coyote which i never said was a bad engine. too bad that boat srt charger that was damn near stock gave it a serious run for its money and the lt1 and 6.4 make considerably more torque.
I understand the Cobra isn't the fastest by today's standard, but for 20 years old now, that car still hauls ass. With some money in the engine it will still eat modern cars for half the price. The Cobra is a legend and I view it as the best Mustang ever made when all factors are considered.

Amen love the driver mod...alot of ppl really make cobras look underwhelming you get a gear banger behind the wheel of one of these (i.e. myself or the driver in this video) theyre a potent weapon even today. Naysayers will say oh but its supercharged racing na cars...ya na cars that are newer and have way more cubic inches AND compression the cobra is just a little 8.5:1 4.6 liter from 2002-2003ish.
Im 40 now. bought one new in 03 at 19 yrs old. built it and it was unbeatable at the time. I beat everyone. my biggest mistake was selling it. Have a 1300hp MK4 supra now but wouldnt mind a tt Cobra to sit next to it.

Exactly its killer how much quicker cars are with good drivers behind the wheel (manual trans anyways) some ppl underestimate the driver mod. I got the driver mod too i beat alot of cars over the years i shouldn't have on paper and it was the driver mod or lack thereof on behalf of my competitors lol. Back in those days i didnt realize power to weight and the driver mod matters as much as it does but i found out over the years they damn sure do lol
Welp - I don't have any "cool" videos like this, but my '03 Terminator still seems to impress people on the highways, and even in stop and go traffic - I am "egg'd" on by people in Civics, Box trucks, and other family haulers. I try my best to provide clean 2rd and 3rd gear rubber....abet - my war horse has well over 100k miles on her - fully stock.

@@rzaenglein people underestimate a proper setup. A good clutch and shifter like you have really helps bang them gears lol. I have an rst and mgw on my 07 gt500 and I row them gears like a boss too! Nice driving there's too many non driving mofos out there giving all these manual mustangs a bad name lol
I think with what you can get a used blower for now it’s the way to go. I wanted to push this car as far as possible with the Eaton before a blower upgrade.
I would find a ported blower with a 2.8 already on it for 500-700 bucks (seen em all over ebay) and throw that on with a 4 lbs lower and crank out 520 on pump or 550 on e85.
@@04trmi I run a 2.78. Changed the crack pulley to speed up the supercharger . Cai. And cat back . And I lost like 300lbs . I dynoed at 435hp and 415 tq to the wheels.
